The Elite Cup handbook states:

Quote:
4.5 Teams
Teams may only have 3 players at one time participating in any aspect of the ForzaRC. Drivers cannot be switched out mid-season but a player may still register as an individual. If a team drops a Driver or a Driver decides that they no longer want to play as a part of that team, then a request can be put in to Leagueops@Gfinity.net. Once all parties have agreed to the transfer, Administration will approve and the transfer will be made . If a Driver has an ongoing contract with the team, Administration will then review the situation and arrive at a conclusion based upon the legal circumstances.

When you sign up for a cup, you receive the message:
Quote:
Success
Your team has been successfully registered. Please remember that it is your team's responsibility to check-in before the cup begins. You will receive a check-in message one hour before starting time. In addition it is the captains responsibility to confirm results.

There are no teams features at all in FM6 and no explanation of what Gfinity mean by teams anywhere on their site, so the question is...

Whut???

This does seem very silly and impossible to police if they are doing it based on gamertag. We have lots of people using gtr in there name and super gt has over 1000 members on horizon. So what does this actually mean for teams??
