I know this is a support thread but it seems most of these days people are dumping on the manufacturer for making a [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] game. I just wanted to let you know there is atleast one completely satisfied customer.

I have been playing at 4K with settings on Ultra and it plays wonderfully. No hick-ups or stuttering. Atleast nothing regular. Maybe one for a split second every few hours when all 12 racers crash into each other on a corner in a dense area with a lot of things around to render, lol. But that is to be expected. Keep up the good work guys.

Also the whole idea behind Horizon 3 with all of the coop and multiplayer has been great. Played the campaign start to finish in coop once I could. Much better than the first 2, but I liked those also.

Everyone can play 4k Ultra settings at 30 FPS, we want 60 FPS :)

These recommended specs shows the utter garbage optimization. For the graphics of the game, it should easily run at 60fps for me. My overclocked 290 can V-Sync GTA V at 72 hz with almost max settings @1080p. The fact that these are recommended for 30 FPS is like a total slap in the face. LOW ON FORZA DOESN'T EVEN GET ME A SOLID LOCKED 30 FPS. IT'S A PC GAME. No one buys PC games to play a garbo 30 FPS (Not even for most people). Not to mention how if you don't have a current gen card (480 or 1060) you can't even get the solid 30 FPS, even if your card is more powerful than both (IE MY 290!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same thing with the 970.). My Laptop with a 860m somehow runs the game better than my 290, yet my 860m can't even maintain 60fps in GTA V low 1080p....

This post should have never been made. Saying that the recommened specs are for 30 FPS aggravates me beyond belief. If I hadn't bought this game through best buy I would be getting a refund IMMEDIATELY.

I have noticed that with me the biggest problem (apart from the game not running on ultra settings even with a pretty decent machine) is that when ever there is either a loading screen or some menu, the games fps drops dramatically like 15-20 fps... What some people are saying about the input lag at 30fps is true, its terrible almost undrivable however it is the only way to play the game for about 10 mins at a time without performance drop. I honestly dont understand why the fps drops whenever going into menus. I have to restart the game every time the fps drops because it doesnt go back up...
After the update i did notice that the massive lag spikes in the tuning menus were minimized but that is about the only good thing that has come from it...
We would all really appreciate some answers from turn 10 and playground games at this point, some of us have spent 100$ on this game and this is simply unacceptable seeing that you ran forza 6 apex as a beta test for performance on PCs for future Forza games like Horizon 3. Where did those results go? Forza 6 apex ran perfectly fine.... Obviously it wasnt open world but still doesnt make that much of a difference...
I am starting to think that this is just another move by Microsoft to try and force people to buy their Xbox One...

No 100% utilization issue .... atleast by me .... on my 3570k@4.4 all cores runs almost the same (maybe 20 percent difference) . And my core0 is hardly ever @ 100% . 99% of the time below 90 .
Maybe its the game or driver . 2 Days before the game runs flawlessly @50hz/fps/1440p on a mix of Ultra/high (only relections and shadows Medium) and yesterday no way to drive without Stuttering .
No consistency in this Game .

My System is almost identical to yours, and I'm getting Very high CPU usage on Core 1. Always crashes and stutters, Frames can be anywhere from 30 to 80 wiht V-Sync off. All Drivers up to date.

Recently upgraded

6700k (4.7 OC)
32GB 3000MHz DDR4 Ram
GTX 980TI FTW Edition
Game running on it's on SSD

Still can't get stable 60 at 2560x1080, just for anyone wondering if there's something wrong with their system.

This is absurd. Still CPU bottleneck'd and IPC of that rig is several times that of an XB1's, never mind memory bandwidth or Gflops.

Should be pushing 100FPS+ like Gears 4 does but that game is optimised well, using multiple cores without choking and as a result GPU performance in it scales almost linearly with resolution. Unlike Forza where 1080p/1440p/4k runs the same as 1024x768.

these requirements are total bunk and the game isn't optimized worth a dam
what this is UWP being **** and developers throwing hardware at the problem instead of optimizing for the proper platform

it runs at 70ish fps on my i5 and 1060 but given the level of graphics here I would expect numbers in the low 90's or at least more consistent performance

they need to abandon UWP or kill the encryption off its needlessly chewing cpu cycles and its totally broken anyway

32GB 2400MHz RAM
GTX 1080 @ 2.1GHz Water Cooled
MB Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
2XSSD 256GB Samsung Evo 850

Terrible drops from 90 FPS down to 20 FPS, absolutely ridiculous, when upgrading parts on car also drops down to 5 FPS when going through each part. I stopped playing for now till they fix it as it is ruining the game for me, 20 FPS is absolutely unplayable, Upgrading cars gives me headache! I have paid £80 for the ultimate edition and will consider a refund if not fixed as it is broken! I mean my PC is freaking powerful! Terrible job guys! FIX IT! And that is JUST 1080P resolution I mean come on guys! Really! That's the best u can do? MICROSOFT PC's ARE SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR PLATFORM!!!

I see a lot of people have been having issue with performance, however I have not seen any issues since the last update. Before the update I was getting horrible, unplayable FPS drops and stuttering, but since then it has been almost perfect. I get a solid 75fps with the very occasional drop down to 55-60. Here are the settings that have been working very well for me, hopefully they can help someone who is having performance issues.

Specs:
i5-6600k @3.9Ghz
16GB DDR4
GTX 1080 @2000Mhz.

Settings:
1440p
Frame Rate: Unlocked
VSYNC: Off
Smoothing: On
Dynamic Opt: Off
AF: 16x
SQ, MBQ, ETQ: Ultra
SGQ: High
DGQ: Ultra
MSAA: 8x

Not sure having to lock your game to 30fps is ideal, especially with a PC of that high spec

Intel Core i7-6700k @4GHz
32k DDR4 RAM
Dual NVidia GTX 1080
4k Resolution, and the game can't handle 60 FPS w/ V-Sync or Unlocked without stuttering constantly on any setting.
Tried tuning the slider in GeForce Experience to maximum performance, makes the game disgusting to look at and still stutters occasionally.
I am updated to the latest 372.90 driver, doesn't make a difference.

PC Specs:

I7 6700

16 Gb Kingston Hyperx Savage 2400MHz

All Settings on high, 1080p, motion blur off, AF 16x, msaa 4x, FXAA on
For me the game runs very good, no sttuterings, only a few frame drops to maybe 55 fps when it's raining at the start of the race

Yes the updates have been making the game slightly better. The upgrading menus are flawless now, good job no fps drops at all but i realized that you have gone backwards after the 3rd update and my game gets more fps drops than the second update. I am currently playing on locked 30fps on high settings and these are my specs that should be running ultra at 60 fps

Intel i7-4790K 4.0GHz
GTX 980 4GB
16GB DDR3 2000MHz

I can run in on 60 FPS for about 2 minutes.... then the game drops FPS like there is no tomorrow. FIX THIS! Honestly UNREAL! Customer support is basically nonexistent with these devs.... we should be able to communicate with the devs and the devs should reply to us and ask questions.... FIX YOUR GAME! FIX YOUR SUPPORT!

How is performance on this game these days?
Didn't buy it at release because I heard about stuttering and fps issues. Is it any better now?

I don't care so much for ultra graphic settings, but smooth gameplay is important. Stuttering or big fps variations will mean I still can;t buy this,

got an i5 2500k, 8 gig ram and 2x 970's ( is it still only signle gpu for windows store games?)

It's not bad at all, I get 60 most of the time with drops into 50's and maybe high 40's in a few very busy areas/races. It's not completely stutter free but very playable.
To get this, I gotta use the Medium preset (I leave dynamic on too), 60 fps with vsync.

Finally I got the game running well. No more stuttering, no more "set affinity thing" no more messing with disabling core 0. I think I might found someway to make it work on lower specs systems and on higher end systems. Even before my graphic card upgrade I was able to maintain a solid 30 fps at 1080p all at medium settings with only a gtx670 in sli (but not working in fh3). So only 2 gb of vram, Showing me sometimes low video memory warning but still been able to play 10-15 hours cumulated without to many issues. I now have a new Zotaz GTX 1070 AMP that I've Oc'ed to 2060mhz boost clock. Still got the same i5 3570k Oc'ed to 4.6ghz and the same 16gb of avexir 2400mhz ram. Now I have maxed out all the setting, msaa at 4, plus fxaa. locked to 60fps. Even in surfers paradise. the only place the game drop fps is in town near the tramway station. Seems to be optimization issues cause even with my old card I was maintaining a good 30fps except at the same spot where it was dipping to 23-25.

The thing that seems to help the game a lot because I don't have horror histories like others here is that I've moved my game on my RAID0 SSD's. Since the games always load something the effiecency of a raid0 is impressive. I got no Stutter at all, locked 60 fps all the time except that tramway thing where it now dips to 40-45issshh

My specs are:

FH3 Installed on a RAID0 SSD's setup
MSI-GD-55 Gaming Z77 MB
Core i5 3570K 3.4ghz OC'ed to 4.6ghz
16gb of Avexir 2400mhz DDR3
Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! OC'ed to 2060mhz
Logitech g-25 with handbrake mod and a TH8A shifter that I'm still waiting FH3 to support
FH3 On RAID0 SSDs
i5 3570k OC to 4.6ghz
16gb 2400mhz DDR3
Zotac GTX 1070 AMP OC to 2138mhz
G25 handbrake mod th8a
