One thing I'd like to ask you guys is how you arrive at the gearbox settings? as there's quite some variances across them...is that personal preference? I know how to set ratios to be track specific, but I'm more wondering about the final drive variance. Sebring and Road America have similar straight lengths but markedly different final drives (4.51 & 3.79 respectively). What's your thought process on building them?
Also.....Le Mans, I'm getting cars smashing past me doing 215 - 225 mph in multiplayer, any thoughts on taking more DF off and shortening the gears??
Glad the tunes are working for you.
Honestly when it comes to the gears, it's initially a lot of guess work. That is until we find a good speed with 4 or 5 of the gears, then it's fine adjustments from there. I wouldn't say the gears we have are bad, but I'm sure they can be improved.
As for Le Mans, the tune should be capable of hitting about 220 if you are drafting. I can see shortening the gears working, especially for Le Sarthe. And as for the down force, it's right on the edge of having good speed, and being able to turn well. The last sector of the track in particular suffers with less down force.
