I was looking through the list of cars that have no division assigned to them...surely some of these are mistakenly left out? Some seem really obvious to me.

I've put next to the the car when I think it should have a division - your thoughts?

1968 Abarth 595 esseesse - Hot hatch?
2013 Ariel Atom 500 V8 - Track toys?
2000 BMW Z8 - Ultimate Spocom?
1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 - Historic American Muscle
1985 Ford RS200 Evolution - Rally Day Heroes?
1978 Ford Mustang II King Cobra - Historic American Muscle
1991 GMC Syclone - Sport Utility Juggernaughts?
2006 HUMMER H1 Alpha - Sport Utility Juggernaughts?
2014 Lamborghini Urus - Sport Utility Juggernaughts?
1986 Lamborghini LM 002 - Sport Utility Juggernaughts?
1986 Lancia Delta S4 - Rally Day Heroes?
1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale - Rally Day Heroes?
2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter - Sport Utility Juggernaughts?
1986 MG Metro 6R4 - Classic Compact?
1965 MINI Cooper S - Hot Hatchbacks
2014 Nissan Juke Nismo RS - Hot Hatchbacks
1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am - Historic American Muscle
2011 Radical SR8 RX - Track toys?
1973 Renault Alpine A110 1600s - Classic Compact?
1963 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Compact?
1963 Volkswagen Type 2 De Luxe - Classic Compact?

I agree with most of the divisions you assigned. The old mini should go in classic compact, in my opinion.

We talked about this before under another title, "Why can't we use the f&f cars and other cars in career mode?" I still think it was some sort of mistake or oversight and it will get fixed, but I could be wrong. That's why I made that post and emailed Turn 10. I just hope I'm not the only one who emailed them. They can only fix a problem if they know about it, and there seem to be many problems, so who knows where this one falls in Turn10's order of issues to fix.

I haven't really experienced any technical problems in the game, just things like these cars being left out of career. It bothers me because I would use many of these cars regularly and I'm sure many others in the community would too. It bothers me more that I paid for the F&F pack and can't use it in career. They should at least let us know that they are unusable in some parts of the game before we make the purchase in the product description. From now on before I purchase any DLC I will ensure they are usable in career, if not, I won't buy it.

I noticed that there are a few that could have been made with what is an expansive and really good car list, only to be left out in the cold. It's not really an issue of another car only having one class either, since the Subaru 22B seems to show up in a couple of them. Among them:

80s Rally cars (the Group B ones)
-Ford RS200, MG Metro 6R4, Audi Quattro, Peugot 205 T16, Lancia Delta S4

80s American Coupes (which served as the basis for those years' NASCAR machines)
-Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Buick Regal GNX

Pre-WWII Grand Prix Cars
-Maserati 8CTF, Auto Union Type D (I noticed a DLC Mercedes W154, but where's my motivation to purchase if I can't really use it? There are no career races for it, no adjusting to class in free play, and no custom public or dedicated motorsports lobbies. I'm sure that if I brought the car into any open A class race I'd get smoked.)

Anyone else notice groups of cars like these?

I was really, disappointed that Pre-WWII Grand Prix Cars had no series in career. Seems like the only place you have a chance,to use it is in the moments of motorsport event.

I've been worried about Forza becoming like Gran Turismo was when I abandoned it.

I recall they had an Auto Union streamliner, which could only be driven on the Nurburgring in GT4, so it was pretty much useless.

Turn 10 have done much better, but I reckon this issue of division orphaned cars is of the same vein.

Well actually, the interesting thing is all cars actually do have a division. In Rivals, one of the leaderboards is the Division leaderboard. Doesn't tell us the actual name of the Division the car is in, but there is one for each car.

Then the divisions can be surmised by looking at the leaderboard and matching to the other cars present. Perhaps that's a project. I'd just need a master list of cars with all divisions noted (ManteoMax appears to have done quite a splendid job of compiling this for us in one of his spreadsheets) and simply hotlapping the orphan cars. Additionally, it's possible that some of the orphans have obvious divisions but are simply to high of a base PI to allow in career (the higher end Group B cars spring to mind here - I'd almost put money on the RS200 and Metro 6R4 being part of the Rally Heroes division).

Even some of the existing divisions have wrong cars in them. Like the Clio V6 in a coupe category. Or in Rally Day Heroes no Lancias but you have both Golf R's and an Audi S1? They're not even made for rallying...seems legit. -__-

I would say that perhaps those two models have been used in Rallycross but I've thus far only seen VW Polo Supercars.

I think the arbitrarily imposed PI limit does result in cars being excluded from appropriate divisions, like the aforementioned 6R4 and RS200. There really should be no PI limit to a division. The Horizon 2 system should be adopted to ensure the races are at the appropriate PI level.

The Lancias being missing from Rally Day heroes is just laughable, no questions.

I just went through ManteoMax's spreadsheet to look at the Division groupings and there are some baffling decisions made there. Will post later if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

I personally like the restricted PI .... they should've at least made events in the stories of motorsports for the cars that were excluded from the career mode.

There was definitely scope for classic rally, Group B and WRC - plenty of cars from those rally eras.

There are some odd placements too:
Lexus SC300 in Compact Sport Coupe. The thing is almost 4.9m long, that's longer than an E39 M5, not really compact. The RX8 is also in this category, borderline, I guess it can be called a 4 door coupe. Alfa Spider is obviously a convertible too and not a coupe.

The XB Falcon GT is with the American Historic Muscle division and that thing ain't American.

The Renault 5 turbo is an obvious Group B contender as is the Lancia 037, these were two of the first entrants to the category. The 5 really shouldn't be in with the hot hatches. The Delta Integrale and Escort Cosworth are baffling omissions from the Rally divisions, they've been put in hot hatches. Swap them with the Golfs, S1 and RS3.

The Modern Day Sports legends division looks so vague and meaningless.

Theere are some cars that appear on two divisions as well. I wonder how this affects their grouping on the leaderboards then?

There was a thread when the game came out called "WHY CAN'T WE USE THE CARS FROM THE FAST AND FURIOUS PACK AND OTHER CARS IN CAREER MODE?". It started because you can't us any cars from the fast and furious pack in the career mode (part because of the PI restrictions but a few you could make work and they were still not options). As it went on people found more cars without divisions (at least as far as the career mode is concerned)

Breyzipp put together this long list of cars that are not usable in the career mode anywhere. Personally this makes these cars worthless to me because I don't race online and only do a little bit of rivals. I wish they would fix this but I know thats dreaming.

Breyzipp post

I have a spreadsheet myself as well with all the cars in it. Most cars belong to 1 devision but some cars belong to 2 devisions as well. For example the Subaru Impreza 22B STI belongs to both Rally Day Heroes and Japanese Kings.

Below is the full list of cars (assorted from high to low PI) that don't belong to any devision, so you can not race them in career mode. In the end it's not such a big deal IMO since you can still use them online or in free race.

I'm curious, would you guys think if we did some serious effort into cleaning up the divisions, making a proposed list per division about what we feel should be removed or added, that Turn 10 would listen to us and change it? (assuming our thread would get a lot of up-votes) Note that all current existing divisions would need to stay as they are used in the career mode, they sure won't change that. But maybe a new division could be added and that division could be used for league racing in the future. With all the off-road vehicles copied over from FH2 I think an off-road division wouldn't be so misplaced either. And those pre-war race cars definitely need a division of their own as well, they're so fun to drive!

I just found out today that the Radical SR8 has no division. Car divisions didn't really have an effect on my Free Play setup until I was being left behind by a Radical SR8 doing leaderboard times at Rio Reverse. I set AI to unbeatable and leave the class set to any. This usually gives a good challenge running S class against R class or Upgraded R class against higher stock R class AI.

I was driving the #91 SRT GTS-R with a PI of 897 and setting 2:06 lap times in 2nd place. 1st place was a stock Radical was running 2:02 and 3rd place on down were running 2:10. I was stuck in no mans land for 10 laps. So I decided to change my R class car to something more suited for Rio and the AI will not use a Radical for some reason and if I chose a Radical myself the AI will not be in one. So I went to force the division and the Radical has no division. This has made it impossible to have a chance at racing the Alien Drivatar at Rio Reverse that is running leaderboard times.

We need to be able to choose the Drivatar Vehicles. Division in Free Play is useless when a car has no division. This problem has happened to me before in Free Play. The AI will be in a car that is able to set leaderboard time when you are in a car that has no chance of catching them. When you change your car to a more competetive vehicle the AI is no longer in that incredibly fast car. They are all in slower cars. Blows my mind that the game is doing this.

The cars do have a division but not one that applies to Career or Freeplay filtering.

Choose one of these cars. Set a time on the leaderboards with it. Go to Leaderboard and filter until you reach division.

The car names may not be preferred or match typical real-world usage, but Johniwanna explained that the car names are exactly as indicated in their licensing agreements, which means they're not going to be "fixed." Career could have been organized a different way for launch, but the way it is now the McLaren doesn't fit - it's an X class car and isn't an IndyCar or Modern Grand Prix car. It just doesn't have any sensible competitors in career mode.

These DLC cars are eligible in Stories of Motorsport:

This is a pretty big issue with this game. It does seem to be pure oversight though because as listed above, they fit quite well into those categories. Since online racing for me is a rarity, I do not get to use these cars at all. It's extremely disappointing to say the least.

The leaderboard division filter is showing you cars with or without a division and not telling what division you are looking at. For example, the Radical SR8 that I set a time with, is listed with the Ariel Atom, Formula Ford, 2001 S2000 FF, 1969 Charger FF, Ferrari 458 TF, Lamborghini Urus, GMC Cyclone, Plymouth Prowler, Chevy Camaro, 1969 Charger FF, Monte Carlo 88, Volvo S60 PS, 1995 Supra FF and all the other cars that are not in a division. That is one crazy division.

The division filter applies to Career, Free Play and Multi Player. Cars without a division can not be used if you use a division filter. This needs to be fixed if the addition of division filter to free play or any game mode is going to be useful.
