I'm not calling you out or anything like that. I also want to believe skill has a part to do with it but without solid proof I cant accept it as fact. so I hope you dont think it was a personal thing. I ran a few races in grass roots as well very clean and avg top 5 but ended up in pro class. we will see where I end up next week...

No not at all :)

I should have made clear that it was just my understanding :) I hope I'm right as I plan on racing in leagues a lot and don't want to be promoted until/unless I'm good enough to be.

Certainly would be helpful for Turn 10 to simply advise if the determination of promotion/relegation is based on weekly league points or a behind the scenes equation based purely on skill. They should be able to state this without compromising integrity of the system by going into depth :)

League races are quite difficult for me. I'm trying to get the Joining The Ranks achievement, but have yet to win a single race. My go to cars for the current B league are the HSV GTS and the 1965 Mini Cooper.

It's definitely a wake up call for me since I've spent more time in Horizon games, where the lobbies are more casual and the driving is more arcadey.

So I've now done some more league racing and find it rather nice. Sure there are still some issues with people being jerks or trying to take you out to make up for their lack of skill but that's a given in any multiplayer game mode in any game.

I have been working on carefully avoiding the wrecks and accidents and I think I'm doing rather well.

The one thing that I think is more strange is that the leagues are only open at certain times. Originally I had understood the mode description of them being available at certain times to mean they would only be open from Launch until Sept 30th, for example. The fact that they also limit the actual time they are available - for example I think the Ford GT one is only open 4 hours a day and the B Class one is only open during working hours - is a bit silly.

I would love to be a part of the B Class League going on now but it's only available while I am at work so I won't be able to participate. (I do get every other friday off so I got lucky and was able to do a few races today)... ... ...why do they introduce such an amazing feature and then limit the availability time? It would make more sense to do the leagues based on regions if you'd like to do that that way you can have the opening times not all be during the time that most people are at work or at school. I understand that Turn10 has to do things during working hours but the rest of us cannot play during that time - Monday to Friday 8am to 12noon what a great time to have a league be open #sarcasm.

Other than the limited times of availability and poor planning on it, I do love the leagues. They've been lots of fun the few times I have been able to play - now to go try out regular multiplayer.

I have luck the opposite way. My B-Class is open right when I'm home from work and the GT league is open in the morning where i live.

That is good, because i hate driving the GT without a tune. It will all cycle around and even out, I wouldn't worry much just yet.

Carefully check league open times. It gives the next "window" but they have two or three Windows per day. The time next open is purely the next window and not the only time it will open in a 24 hour period.

The B Class League show that it's open from 12-4, for example, but it then reopens from 5-9 and then 10-2, etc. I don't know if they all work that way.

Edit: Amused2Death66 beat me to it.

This makes good sense, I must just be sleep or at work during the other open times. Interesting

Two completely different games in my opinion, and I'll continue to play both.

I use a wheel, so the handling physics and race experience of pcars blows Forza out of the water, into the air, and off the planet.

But then I do love the more casual and fun side of Forza, and the freedom of upgrades. It's just rubbish on the wheel.

I just checked as the new leagues are now open and i did move from Elite to Pinnicle.

B-Class i only had around 6500 points and GT i had around 3500 points.

When i got the badge pop up after the time bracket closed, i had won a couple of races and finished in the top 5 for most of the others.

I think its just based on trueskill + some other magic, nothing to do with league position which will just be your payout when the league closes..

It dumped me straight into a top league (no working my way up). I've tried it twice:

First night, I just wasn't competitive, partially due to lack of brakes thanks to the wheel deadzone issues (in MP I am lucky to get 50-60% braking power most of the time). And thanks to the communication issue when using a wheel I wasn't able to talk to anyone. It was a decent room, someone was trying to give me tips on braking points and trail braking and there was no intentional crashing that I saw.

Second night was a crash fest, I threw in the towel after a couple of races of getting repeatedly punted off track by people just trying to smash through the field instead of passing for position.

I am going to wait till the wheel issues are patched before I try it again.

In pinnacle the b class and ford gt leagues were very clean all week. Already in the last two hours the world tourers league has a lots of messy drivers. Overall the leagues are very clean compared to the lobbies though.
I have yet to finish outside the bottom half in pinnacle but didn't get dropped down. Leagues are a great challenge(I'm no RPM swerve). I use The hoppers for relaxation and expect to get wrecked the challenge is to pick your way through the wrecks.

Absolutely loving the weekly leagues. Totally agree that league placement has nothing to do with promotion/relegation. It is exciting to have new events every week but would prefer them to be specialised rather than a standard "A" league.

Once the league closes. For instance B-Class finished this afternoon/evening where I am. I dashboarded, quit forza, had dinner and when I came back I had my $960,000 payout waiting. SO i'd say pretty quick after the league is done.

So being in Pinnacle is both rewarding and Counter Rewarding. In the first league I participated in I received 1 Million credits for being top 100 / 5000 but since we only have 300-400 players in Pinnacle being in the to 50 only gives out 150,000 credits and being in the top 100 of 570 only 30,000.

So it's A class now, and in the lobbies I join, everyone seems to always use the BAC Mono. I personally liked the B class league more since in my experience, there was a wider variety of cars used.

Tracktoys or bust! as there are mostly short tracks this leauge is realy boring imo.
Why not make a mix of trakcs so more cars can win?

(B leauge was Honda 20000 all over the place)

Oh it wasn't easy for me either. They paired me up with the top 20 in B class frequently and if you messed up there was someone there to claim your spot. There was one race where we all had fastest laps within a tenth of each other.

I have no A class skills though. In 3 races I won 1 and couldn't keep the car from spinning out in 2 others. Lol.

Leagues are tough.

I managed to win my first league race with my HSV GTS. I wouldn't really call it a track toy.

I actually do quite well with it too.

Yeah, in A class, so far I usually place at the lower half of the pack, even with the BAC Mono. The other car I have for A class is the Dodge Challenger Battletoads Edition.

Well, it's possible that your 2nd place finishes are against weaker opponents and his 8th place races are against stronger opponents. Can't really predict with how random people join.

Ideally you can have the top 10 racer on the board that week race against each other to sort out the ranking. Then the next 10 race against each other.
Then mix the lower of the 10 ten with the higher of the top 20s and so on.
But you can't really have everyone online when needed.
...except maybe if they ghost races each other.
or have their drivatars do the final league closeout race......and everyone involved could watch their drivatars race.

I race in Pinnacle and admittedly the other drivers in this league are a lot better than I am. So I went from winning a million credits in Grashoppers to winning a million credits in "Elite" to winning 20.000 in "Pinnacle". I think it is a bit odd that I race in the highest league but earn less than average Joe Shmoe in Grashoppers.

Well, at least the races are clean here :D
