Hello everyone.

I'm PJ and you may remember some of my work from Forza Motorsport 4. I skipped FM5 for various reasons but after buying a console this Summer I'm back for Forza Motorsport 6 and looking forward to painting again. I focus on race designs and primarily paint the cars that I use most on-track. I also tune cars from time to time.

All paints, vinyl groups and anything else I share can be found by looking up my gamertag or with the keyword PJT.

Real name PJ Tierney, I was a freelance designer and illustrator before joining Konami Europe full-time in 2013 to work in Community Management. When I moved from Ireland to the UK for the job the only luxury items in my baggage at the time were my Xbox 360 and a copy of Forza Motorsport 4.

My primary line of work focuses on updating and developing the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME's official webpages for Europe & Oceania, as well as the game's official Twitch, Facebook and YouTube Channels. I also head up the European event coverage team helping to provide fans of the game with top-level event coverage several times a year.

As mentioned above I joined the company in 2013 and before that was a freelance designer and illustrator, focusing primarily on motorsport-themed artwork. I'm probably most well-known in that regard for my Formula 1 Posters, as well as the Pocket Liveries blog, a collection of minimal mobile phone wallpapers based on famous racing designs. I've worked with people from Red Bull Racing and Top Gear Magazine and have had my work featured by various publications and websites over the past few years. I still create new projects when I have the time to do so, but as you can imagine I am very busy these days and don't always have an opportunity to put the hours in to creating something from scratch.

For me the Forza series has always been the perfect combination of my 2 main interests: creative work and motorsport. My first Forza title was Forza Motorsport 2 but I didn't get heavily involved in the series until Forza Motorsport 4, when I pushed myself to become a better livery painter, tuner and racer. As a racer I am very competitive, and focus on being a fast and clean racer, while also intending to be a formidable opponent in online lobbies. I have raced competitively in the past on numerous websites, culminating in over 300 organised races and 3 Realish Racing Drivers' Championship titles.

If you want to take on my Drivatar or simply make it easier to find my designs feel free to follow my Gamertag; I look forward to seeing you all out on track.

Vinyl Groups

Any logos or vinyl groups that I create of a high enough standard to be shared can also be found by using the keyword PJT. Feel free to download them for your own cars, or trace them so that you have your own unlocked versions. Each logo have been extensively researched so as to match the real logo's colours and dimensions as best as possible.

Awesome work here so far mate! That logo collection must have taken eons to complete. Keep up the great work, I've just got the Nissan IDx and I can't wait to see what you do next.

Thanks Skyline. I might be slow in getting up new paints initially as I'm still working my way through Career Mode, but I have a few ideas I want to get round to.

I didn't want to buy a current-gen console at launch, as the first wave of hardware usually has some issues, and the games don't quite hit the high stands the console is capable of producing. Once the 1TB model came out and I was happy with how Forza Motorsport 6 was shaping up I made the investment.

Thanks Ace; I made the logos in Forza Horizon 2 over the past few weeks as I wanted to get a headstart for Forza Motorsport 6. Most of them took about 2 hours although the Red Bull ended up taking 6.

The painting method I use ensures they they're 99% accurate in terms of shape layout and colour but doing so takes quite a while. You'll notice I don't have a GoPro logo up there however as I feel it's not of a high enough quality to be shared, and only looks good on a small scale.

Dude, you've got some excellent looking paints. All of them are super cool. I do liveries myself, but am TERRIBLE at making original logos. I had a few back on FMS4, but never really gained any steam with it. I was wondering if you'd do an original for Calico Coatings. It's very easy, I just don't have it. Pretty much just need one in black, orange, white and red.

Let me know! Your stuff is the best I've seen thus far.

AWESOME WORK!!! When you say "trace" the vinly, what do you mean about that?

Thanks!

Hey there, thanks for the kind words.

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to handle requests, as I barely even have the time to create the logos that I want to right now.

The logo you linked to is actually more complicated then it would initially seem, as you have a lot of rounded edges and then the 2-stroke border to worry about. If I were making that I'd focus on getting the red section perfect first, and then using that as a reference for the borders, making sure to keep the border widths consistent.

The best way to do it is to open the Vinyl Group creator, search for one of my layer groups and download it. Then you simply create your own version on top of it, and delete my one when you're done. The hard part is figuring our which shapes, sizes and positions I used but after a while you'll end up using 4 or 5 shapes that you're comfortable with to create most of your work (I almost exclusively use Basic shapes in my groups).

Thanks guys.

The NISMO's now a Turn 10 Pick as well, a good start to Forza Motorsport 6.

Thanks for the advice, PJ. I actually ended up following you and I'm primarily using your logos. Best looking stuff out there right now.

No problem, glad I could help.

Incase anybody hasn't tried it, the tune works pretty well in low-speed C-Class tracks. I've been using it in the Rio Track Day Challenge and last I checked I was Top 50 in Europe.

In Multiplayer it falls behind on any circuit with a long straight but has done quite well in the wet.

Any chance at seeing the FM4 88C-V return for the 787B or a WRC Black Imprezza

Impreza: Probably not.

787B: Most likely, but not for a while.

I'm working on my next paint at the moment, just finished drafting all of the logos. Should be up in a few days assuming everything goes smoothly.

I'm loving your work!

I've found the info on this thread which answers my latter tweet to you. I'd certainly like to use the Minolta livery when I do my natural sweep through every track in P. That should entail lots of uses! I'm reasonably confident that I can set a few really good times which would come with corresponding replays. I'm happy that it's your 'most likely' list at least :)

Back in the days of Forza Motorsport 4 one of my strongest liveries was the "Taikyu 2000". The car was never really competitive in Public lobbies as it sat at an awkward PI level but it was a car I always enjoyed driving back then.

#11 Honda Racing Taikyu 2000 | Turn 10 Pick, March 2012

3 years later and the Forza Motorsport 6 S2000 is actually quite a decent car, and currently my go-to for B-Class racing. When it came to painting this there was only one way to go:

2009 Honda #11 Honda Racing S2000CR (Livery | Video)

As with the Forza Motorsport 4 version this is based on the Honda RA106, with necessary changes made to have a car suitable for a series it would theoretically race in, Super Taikyu's ST4 Class. The S2000 CR's body styling is more suited to this type of design than what was done in Forza Motorsport 4, and with additional research and experience I feel that this is a more believable design than before.

All of the new groups I created for this car are now available to download individually as well, same search criteria as always.

Fantastic as always. I remember an adaptation of this on the Honda NSX-R Super GT for a Virtual Motorsports endurance race, and I loved that too.

Thanks Stu. It's a shame the roof can't be painted but fortunately the design wasn't adversely affected by that.

Much appreciated; accurate logos are arguably the most important part of having a good race paint.

I ported the design to a number of cars in Forza Motorsport 4, the NSX suited it well:

Thanks Ace. As mentioned above logo work is very important but something a lot of designers overlook. For me even the best race paints can be spoiled by a single logo inaccuracy if it's noticeable, so I strive to have 100% accurate logos wherever possible.
