Does the Car Pass provide the first seven car packs / three boosters, add seven car packs to your current roster, or something else?

I purchased the first five car packs and would like to get multiple purchase discounts in the future, but darned if I can figure out if Car Pass will provide this or a "Car Pass II" will be released in the future. The Forza website and Xbox marketplace indicate the Car Pass starts with LaFerrari - if so, that would duplicate car packs I've already purchased. Is buying individual car packs my only option?

August 2014 Free DLC Pack discussion thread



The August 12, 2014 Forza Motorsport 5 content update adds the following to the game:

• 6 new car models added to the game roster (detailed below)
  
• Badge and Title for Rolls Royce Affinity
  
• Improved functionality for Thrustmaster and MadCatz wheels "designed to increase the feel and performance of both of these wheels when playing with Forza Motorsport 5."

This content update (346MB) provides the cars add-ons to the game at no charge for all players. Although the in-game Marketplace list the cars as car "packs", players should skip the step of trying to download the packs and simply go to Buy Cars to obtain each car for their My Cars garage. As with all DLC cars, the first time you buy one of these models it will be free and then buying subsequent cars of the same model will require credits or tokens. And all car models are available to Rent for use in Free Play and Multiplayer modes without the need for credits.

I remember a few years ago FM4 unicorn cars were given to me very kindly by a forum mod. I wanted to participate in an event that could win me one, but missed out. I asked for a unicorn (trying my luck) and was sent them the next day, earning me my achievement.

Would it be possible to be gifted the Chevy Impala the same way? I did download FM5 and all the free cars a few weeks ago and have just missed out on buying the IGN car pack for the achievement.

If you don't ask you don't get, right? I would be so grateful if I could be gifted the car, or if Turn10 allowed the Impala to be bought as DLC for a limited time.

As of right now the only way to get it is on Amazon. There might be other sites that offer but not sure.

Yah, but I'm from the UK. I've tried everywhere and the only place that sells the Car Pass is GAME and it's £32! :/ On Xbox I'm sure the pass was under £20. And better yet, wasn't the IGN pack available to buy seperately even cheaper than that, for about £5? Only reason I didn't buy it yet was because I didn't think there'd be a deadline to buy it. I kinda wanted the Car Pass for a certain Mercedes on there. I was looking forward to starting the game as I haven't played a Forza game in ages, but I dunno if I'll play FM5 now

Personally I would not skip out on such a great game just for lack of being able to complete a few of the achievements. You can still get plenty of achievements as it stands. I'm not sure I understand the 100% achievement or no play mentality. You can miss really great gaming experiences with such a limitation. Forgive em if I am reading this incorrectly.

EDIT: Looks like this happened on October 6th when the game was given out for free to XBL Gold subscribers, I saw other users have already talked about this too so I'm a little late to the party lol, anyways this is still my favorite Forza game and it's sad to see it reach End of life, but of course things move on. Thanks for the great game T10!


(Original Post ) I think the time has finally come for the game and it's DLC to be removed from the Xbox/Microsoft Store, just as it was for all Forza titles on Xbox 360. I was browsing the store last night looking for any deals on Forza Horizon 2s DLC and when I browse for any Forza game, Forza Motorsport 5 and it's DLC will usually appear as a search result, but this time only one thing appeared for 5. It was the base game that hasn't been available for awhile (The game of the year edition was the one being sold if I remember correctly), I selected it and it said "Not available", So it seems it's all been removed. This isn't anything out of the ordinary though as it's happened to all previous Forza games. I'm assuming that it's the license to use the cars in the games that runs out so they aren't allowed to sell them anymore which is completely understandable, but like others have said in the past it would have been nice to at least get some kind of notice on the date that it would occur on. I guess Forza Horizon 2 is next so if you haven't already bought the DLC for it then I suggest you do it soon!

Well, that's really it I guess, just wanted to start a discussion about this to hear others thoughts/ideas.

I noticed this too, I was able to get the 57 Bel Air, But it says 'This is exclusive content and cannot be purchased at this time.' when ever I go to get and car packs.
I really want the 40s De Luxe Coupe and 39 Auto Union, I would gt them in a heartbeat, Even the MS store doesn't have the ability to let you buy them.
MS support tried to help but it lead me here.

F5 is end of life and DLC is no longer available. You may be able to find a code somewhere.

I was late starting FM5 and might have paid for the DLC cars necessary for some of the achievements... I guess MS doesn't want my money.

I would pay the original price if they bring this back even just for a week.

Gamestop has the game, and Car Pass.

Not in the store anymore.

You can try to search the internet for the Car Pass digital code. So you redeem it on the Xbox One and it should promptly download the contents.

So you sadly have to rely on old stock of stores.

If you see it, I suggest you buy it right away. It should still be easy to find. Unlike codes for older games like FM4 or the first Horizon.


*Remember to check Forza Horizon 2 contents if you are interested, because it should be delisted around august-october of 2018.
