MUSIC IN FORZA HORIZON 5

The latest episode of Let’s ¡Go! revealed the music stations in Forza Horizon 5, which you can see starting here:
https://youtu.be/jfx7-JYXxtQ?t=733

From the October Road to Mexico article:
"Our audio team researched the history of Mexican music and how it influenced the rest of the world. It has an instantly recognizable sound that we want to make sure is represented in Forza Horizon 5. Also, when you turn on a radio in Mexico, each genre has its own station, with a combination of local Mexican music and global songs. It was clear that an authentic approach was to curate an eclectic selection of both regional tracks and global hits. By featuring Mexican artists across all stations, you can tune into the channels you love listening to most and enjoy a completely authentic experience while you play.

Also, our friends at Hospital Records are debuting their latest drum and bass tracks in the game which will be featured on an upcoming vinyl release. With YouTube and Twitch being such integral aspects of gaming today, we’ve worked with Hospital Records and combined their tracks with our own original compositions to create Streamer Mode. It’s a seamless experience for content creators and it ensures the Forza Horizon DNA remains intact in the gameplay videos you watch online.

We’ve also introduced the ability to turn any of the audio sliders all the way down to zero to remove any specific audio content – ensuring you won’t hear music faintly in the background."

Songlists and links to Spotify have been updated in our Gone Gold announcement:

Amy Simpson is back in the booth with her signature mix of electronic sounds and pop music infused with some local talent.

On the subject of Radio Stations in Forza Horizon, I think it would be cool to have the option to change the localization of all the DJ's independent of the global game audio. Giving the option to keep story missions and such in the localization of the player but change the Radio DJ audio to the Mexican localization.

They messed up my favorite Pulse radio station. I sampled almost all of the songs on the list in iTunes, and have to say what a poor collection for joyful Pulse.
" If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari. "

Block Party, based on the Spotify one is a bit disappointing for me. FH4's Block Party radio was much better.

After listening to the FH5 soundtrack, it is lackluster, no Just Kiddin, the songs are worse than FH4, FH3 and FH2 had some of the best songs, plus mexico, christ, Why not save doing the UK till FH5, FH5 will not come close to FH4

I just want to show my disappointment from the music playlists on FH5, this has nothing to do with the gameplay as that is absolutely incredible.

A little about me, I'm a DJ who plays around the country to 1000's of people each week and have been playing music to large crowds for 22 years so I know a bit about music. I still have and listen to my Horizon playlist in the car as I drive about each week and have done so since 2012.

Horizon 1 and 2 got me into some incredible bands like Foster The People, Friendly Fires, The Naked & Famous, Passion Pit, Fixers, Bombay Bicycle Club to name a few and of course.....

    CHVRCHES

Why on gods green earth is CHVRCHES not on Forza Horizon 5? They have some incredible tracks that are perfect for Pulse like He said She Said, this is Pulse all over yet it's missing?

I feel like you guys are losing what Pulse was all about in the first 2 games, the 3rd was ok and the 4th wasn't great to be completely honest.

Rob da Bank from BBC radio did amazing job on the first and 2nd game I believe but you can certainly tell he doesn't do the rest, the game was about the festivals and racing, I feel like you've concentrated all your effort on the racing and you've lost the spirit of what made the first and 2 game the best.

All the best on the release but try better for 6

The video linked in Max's OP is a deep dive into how music was selected, and it shows how the team worked with musicians to help curate and create new songs for the playlist. if you have watched it, it's an interesting watch. As for why no CHVRCHES, it's hard to know specifically w/o chatting w/ the music team directly.

IIRC, we've heard them in Forza Horizon 2 (The Mother We Share), 3 (Bury It and Clearest Blue) and 4 (Never Say Die), so I can understand the association to games past. Hopefully Pulse and Base Arena in Horizon 5 will help us expand our pool of known / loved artists, while leaning on some of the artists we've liked in the past, without, while disappointing, CHVRCHES specifically.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway!

    • Sotomayor - Fiebre

I love people complaining about one band being left out of the lineup. Five editions in and the music has always been straight garbage for hard rock fans. The Foos and Greta Van Fleet are ok, but as usual, fans of hard rock and metal once again get the shaft when it comes to the soundtrack. The closest we ever had was Epitaph in FH3, but that was more punk than metal.

I know big names like Metallica and Iron Maiden might be cost prohibitive for licensing, but PG could have made a deal with Roadrunner or Metal Blade like they have with Hospital (and had with Epitaph) Records so those who like it might get something heavy, something I'd actually want to listen to on the soundtrack while driving. Instead, we get the same old boots-and-pants EDM and rap in the game. I literally laughed out loud when Mike from PG claimed how "diverse" this edition's playlist was during the final "Let's Go" stream when it's just a rehash of the same old same old.

Guess I'll be using Eterna for skill songs and listening to my own iTunes playlist the rest of the time, just like I have been with this series since 2012.

I know right? The amount of people flabbergasted by the lack of one particular band is a new hilarious low that I didn't think people would stoop to.

Forza Horizon 2 and 3 had music stations based on real-world record stations and, excluding Hospital, completely dropped off the face of the game in Forza Horizon 4, and now that the soundtrack has been revealed, they're not returning in Horizon 5 either. Why did they go missing? Majority of my favorite songs in the franchise come from those stations, and it adds more variety and size to the soundtrack.

Same reason as your "favorite car was singled out.". Licensing most likely.

My car wasn't "singled out" because of licensing as literally EVERY OTHER pontiac is returning. Did you even read the post I made about that
