Irritatingly it looks like I lost progress during the season change, had the autumn photo challenge and the last 2 dailies reset. Wish they'd fix that.

EDIT: Apparently it happens if you exit the game from either the Fortune or Lego Island DLC's before the season change. How stupid.

Wrangler DD and Chevelle 67 are current choices.
Hummer open top won the last one. AH players will not allow a decent car to win. Wrangler DD will win this week.

Can anyone confirm if the super7 car reward is missing only on microsoft store version, anyone from xbox or steam here affected by it?

Same here, had the same last week too - just the wheelspin, no car. Again, not bothered as already have one of everything, but it doesn't seem fair if others aren't getting the car either?

Winter, perfect time to bring out those S1 and S2 cars ... :P
But to actual playlist, I have a feeling I already completed this one too, a while back, but still.
Ok, trial and A 800 ... cross country (yes what a surprise) racing with extreme offroad machines. I picked something a bit different. Sorry to Mini driver, that leaning wasn't intentional, but Track-Tor doesn't steer that good in last race. So the racing 2x1st and 3rd, 3:0 for team (easy drivatars this time).
Top Gear Track-Tor, tune - 108 868 608
or Ford F-150 Prerunner DD, tune - 795 974 100
or copy paste from last week
Jeep Wrangler DD, tune - 756 246 482
or Jeep Trailcat, tune - 877 210 267

Now to fun part, S2 998 road racing on 2/3 snow tracks with cars that cost more then 2M ... time for snow tires
Since this one was latest prize car ...
Lambo Veneno, tune - 181 383 563

Next to S1 900 street scene with track toys, again with 2/3 snow tracks ... Viper on snow tires sounds good to me, so
Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR, tune - 185 778 532

Finishing championship and S1 900 dirt racing with Hooniogans, car from rivals worked just fine
Hoonigan Ford RS200, tune - 545 011 302
or Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800, tune - 151 786 541

PR stunts and again nothing new here, so Koenigsegg Agera RS, tune - 167 849 655 for danger sign and speed trap, used McLaren Senna, tune - 176 256 116 for speed zone (no snow on it).

Weekly Forzathon car also reused Mercedes Benz 190 2.5-16 Evo, snow tires fitted and tuned to A 800 - 585 692 741, went to Astmoor speed trap, to get easy 3 star in one pass, then did The Goliath for clean racing and millage.

Weekly Super 7 reward is Porsche 917 LH

Finishing pic

Hope this is of any help to somebody, take care everyone and as always ... have fun :), bb

Yeah. I hope it doesn't stick that way.

I am absolutely loving sliding my R390 and GT86's around in the snow on another note, though. Also used the Jag F-Type Zero Project Alpha thing for Midnight Battle and that was really nice to drive on the slippy stuff. You can hold those slides or keep it tight and it's pretty good off the line.

I think this was a reaction to all the complaining there used to be when people had to do trial road races in Winter. Now we just get dull cross country events time after time. Shame, as the S2 and S1 events this week would both make much better trial events.

Painfully slow loading time between races 2 and 3 in the trial. Makes no sense. It was fine before both races 1 and 2, so what’s changed?

People complaining about winter in general really, but I agree with you, too many people complained about winter road races, because they don't know how to tune a car for winter. I don't find CC boring, it's one of my favorite racing styles. Dirt being my favorite of course. Street racing is my least favorite due to traffic magically appearing out of nowhere just to wreck you.

I have 2 Nissan GT R Fe's in S2, one for dry/rain and one for Winter. If I ever get a third, I will tune it for rain since my dry build is a little sketchy in rain and my winter build is even worse. Lower classes I use different cars for different seasons and race styles. In most cases, I have different cars and builds depending on seasonal event requirements, I just find the Nissan GT R to be the best handling car in S2, personal choice for my driving style of course.

S2 in Winter, great idea
Had same feel of doing it again

Trial was easy, right after start i've played alone but no idea if they lowered the drivatar level or what happened
Used the Wrangler DD A796 "out of Box" and was atleast +10sec in front, starting same events in singleplayer on unbeatable looks different

Ah, the Trial. Even the name "Tobagganing" is recycled, so pretty sure each series will just be a repeat of an earlier series. But hey, considering how long this game has been out, and they are still adding new cars and other add-ons to it, I won't complain...too much. lol

So, I have a question for the group:

Take a look at my team, how well do you think we did? lol

I saw this line up and was like, ok, so it's gonna be a nice practice run. Yeah, we lost though we did win the second race. I may have forced an AI into the corner of a house...which caused it to crash into two other AI. Not saying that had anything to do with it...but hey, I don't cry for AI. lol

I ran the Ranger T6 and even though the top speed wasn't quite there, it did really well. A little twitchy and would sometimes divebomb a turn, so don't run the gates too closely, but it did really well. I had to run the Trial 4 times to finally finish with a win. Out of 12 results, I took first 10 times, disco'd (while in first) and placed second on the third race. But going off jumps, it lands like an absolute brick. lol

Finished all the events, I'll post up tunes and such tomorrow.

I didn't have the Lambo Venano show up in Horizon 7 last week, just a wheel spin (Xbox One S). But I played Lego on Friday night without loading Horizon 7 last week. This week, I set my home to the cottage, quit the game fully, and opened up Horizon 7 first thing in free roam after looking at the playlist, switching to and tuning up the MB 190E and the Porsche 917 LH did show up.

For the Trial, I have a Wrangler DD I tuned to A800 centered on a race transmission swap and gear tune and was surprised....I'm sloooooooow and it is what is, so usually last or beating 1 or 2 drivatars and hoping I don't drag down the team too much. This week, solid middle of the pack finishes and actually lead (!!!) for a bit until I lost the checkpoint in the snow in second race.

Yes, the deja-vu you think you're feeling is real because we're in autopilot mode now; I doubt we'll ever see anything original again going forward, nothing that isn't a carbon copy repeat of a season set we haven't already seen.

But respectfully (and I cannot stress my respectfully-respectfulness enough),

I know that most everyone besides myself has nothing but sheer, utter contempt for cross-country and just cannot help themselves from squeezing in shots at it here and there, but if there was ever a time you had to do an A800 Extreme Cross Country Trial, isn't this the season to do it? Sure, we've seen this movie a time or two before, during seasons that could have instead featured another car type combo more appropriate for less-forgiving seasons and saved more durable car type combos capable of handling harsher environments for times like magical English winters, just like right now (hey, what a coincidence). And Offroad and Extreme Offroad are the best fits for a winter XC trial, no? Who besides myself would squeal with glee at a D500 Cult Classic Cross Country Winter Trial? Or perhaps a robust S2 Extreme TrackToy Cross Country Winter Trial catches your fancy? Either of those beauties sound better or moar funner, hmm? Let's see a show of hands; anyone? Anyone? (Bueller...?) No? Oh, not so much, I guess? (I mean, can you just imagine the tears?) Ah, well then, ...okay, just think about those two little lovelies you could be but are not nor will you be suffering through while you breeze effortlessly through the snow drifts in one of your warm 'n cozy Baja-hahas this Trial.

I don't really understand what all the stinkeye-ing at winter is all about anyway, as they totally nerfed winter to begin with to satisfy all the bellyaching coming from the hardcore S2 Rhee-rhee-rhee crowd. There's no slippery ice, inclement condition-related slowdowns on the roads are marginal, and the snow gives +grip should anyone have the misfortune of taking a step or two off the pavement, for crying out loud. You don't even have to fear S2 cross-country or dirt anymore, in any season, haven't had to since shortly after launch. Winter has basically been reduced to just being a visual variant period, where everything in-game is just white.

Ah, but cross-country... it's just too dull, is it? Well, it definitely has the worst variety overall, having the fewest number of routes across the board (oh, save for the drag strips 🙄). And yes, to be fair, Street and "Dirt" (which I call "Dirt Road" thanks to still being 40-50% asphalt as it is) just narrowly total ahead of XC in the base game, so okay we'll call that 'even' (R-26, D-20, XC-19, S-21), but it gets totally shafted in the DLC ― you'd need to combine both expansion's XC route totals together just to get into double digits. So if your eyes are glazing over because the XC Trial just seems so dull and overly familiar, well, it's because it is!

[//Warning: poor analogy attempt dead ahead\\]

When you only ever eat at one of three specific restaurants, of course you're gonna tire pretty quickly of the joint with only three or four items on the menu (XC) where by in comparison the menus at the other two joints (Road & Dirt) are approximately three or four times longer and have multiple pages with pop-up pictures, a desserts and drinks specials insert (top shelf), and even color-by-number Lady Gaga placemat menus for the kids WITH those teeny-tiny boxes of little crayons...brand new boxes of unused crayons. Crayola. Yes! For both kids! The latter two restaurants with the menu frills and whatnot are luxurious. That's what I hear, anyway, though you'd know better than I since I'm forever-trapped in the XC joint across the way with the wee, tiny, no-nothing menus, not even a used, colored-in Gaga menu for the two kids to share... (😭) Admittedly, though... yeah, I feel the redundant, dully-dullness, too. 😒

All of that though, our seeing far more action on the roads than off them, that's all okay, really ...because believe me when I say that my eyes do the exact same flipping thing, glazing the bejeezus over and rolling waaaaay back into my head in dulldum-boredum every single time I do yet another S2 Super-Hyper-StarTrek-Warp9.9-TwitchyTwitch-Car Astomoor/Bamburgh/Moorhead type-thing, going 'round and 'round and 'round in two-second circles over and over and over again (that can't be dull!) Oh, or ― ugh ― nighttime S2 StreetRaining runs. "For extra excessive misery, just add snow!" (Remember that scene in "The DaVinci Code," where the killer albino monk is just wailing away, beating his back to a bloody pulp with a whip? That torturous scene is Brother Squryl every single time he runs S2 StreetRaining in the pitch-black snow, but I digress...)

To each his own, though, right? Your Heaven on Earth is someone else's Seventh Circle of Hell. Nothing wrong with just not liking something, not at all ― the difference is, well it seems to me at least, that typically anyone prefering the flat 'n dry will be sure to make their dissatisfaction known without fail should something other than their all-time ultimate preferred preference comes up whereas by contrast, when faced with yet another dully-Dullsville-dull Asphalt Adventure, the offroad-preferring extreme minority of one (just me, right?) always seems to muster things up and just does it. Each race is like what, two and a half seconds long? Three? Three and a half seconds. Sitting for my covid shot took longer than what most races in this game take to finish. Hell, by the time you finish reading my monthly rant here, you'd have started the second race by now!

Now of course, all of the above is said with laughter, loves n' kisses...but in all dead seriousness, what part of this game hasn't gotten totally dully-Dullsville-dull, all stale and moldy-like? (And this slow-dripping the new exclusives, now just two a month ― another trend btw now on repeat it seems ― is only making this Dullsville ennui cake just that much more stale and moldy-like...and the Hot Wheels NothingNotMuchBurger only added to the dissaboredum rather than negate any of it.😴) Really though, at this point now, the ennui is just baked in the cake, all the way around. Everything being equal, it's no longer worth mentioning... so let's just get on with it! Race the race, already!

😘

I like Cross Country. As I've said many times I loved Storm Island in H2. It is just so poorly implemented in this game with obstacles all over the place. Remove all the junk off the track and it would be much better. I don't like this amount of obstacles when I am racing that are there for no reason other than slow you down on purpose. The other issue making Cross Country annoying as trials is that the vast majority of casual players just do not know how to drive Cross Country and you end up attempting it over and over with people who have no clue. So it can be frustrating at times. I was lucky this time and we got the trial done first try, I even did it again later - I quit once since my genius teammate decided to knock me out of a checkpoint right away for no reason at all, but we won all 3 in the next one I joined. That being said I find Winter the easiest season to complete. It isn't that difficult to race on snow with the right tune so I really don't mind, 1 hr 55 min for 94% that is close to record time for me. It's been the quickest season now for me to finish for months now. All these trials are repeats at this point as far as I know.

For the multi-player events, the Trial took 2 attempts with last week's Jeep DD. Games went alright with a Ram but I ended up rolling frequently. It is mudkickers though so I should have thought to minimize the sway bars. I did see both 6-wheelers doing pretty well.

For track toys I used a 16 BMW M4 GTS. It was pretty fun with this car. I also ran it with a 911 singer and 16 gt350 so I will try to post those tunes tonight. The M4 "Winter" tune is shared.

I used a Centenario with snow tires and upgraded tire width for the high rollers championship. It ended up around 906PI. There was a Sesto that got out front a couple of times but I reigned it back in pretty quickly in the snow. I also ran this successfully with a Veneno on snow tires. Both could be improved with more tuning if you want but otherwise it's an easy upgrade and go.

I bought the prize Hoonigan Focus from the AH for the championship. I changed the gearing for a higher top speed and ran it.

Pr stunts: Sometimes just going for it works best...

Obviously I used my 98 Supra for the Mudkickers jump. I also used it for the speed trap, then a Senna with an updated tune for the zone. I will share it shortly, after making some tune space. The 98 Supra winter rally tune is shared, 609 842 300
