A Dark Journey ( see the video here https://youtu.be/FlLW8MfLS6A)

For a while I had this idea in the back of my head of driving at night with some distant music on the radio, featuring a female voice, and it took a little bit of doing to realize this idea, I made music with Studio One 4, Audacity and the PaulStretch plugin, and I made a blueprint (share code: 925 608 562) starting at the Elmsdon on Sea Sprint, going up and down the main Highway underneath a Autumn moon and then going back to Elmsdon again, designed for the Classic Muscle car class, so I could drive my favorite car, the white 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. And it all had to be in black and white too, ... like an old movie.

It's not so much about the cars or the race, or the destination or the journey, it's,... it's about the mood. The mood of driving at night. It's also in it's own way a dedication to the 1971 movie "THX 1138", I saw that movie in the early 80's in my early teens on the television and it completely blew me away, especially the car chase at the end. I had never seen anything like that before. Of course I'd seen car chases in movies and tv series before, but not like that. The whole scene, the cinematography, the sound of the engines, the soundscape, the ambiance, everything. It molded my creativity for things to came, and in a way I've been chasing that call to somehow re-create it ever since.

Another movie that has been a huge influence on me and which I also saw in my early teens and which also dates back to 1971 is "Vanishing Point". The white Dodge is kind of a giveaway (hehe) it speaks for itself, and that movie too completely blew me away. Another influence for this video are the movies by David Lynch, who is an inspiration in everything he does, go check out his "Lost Highway".
