Sadly except you saved your game saves before the issue, looks screwed. You can log a ticket and expect a few CR and cars / wheelspins but nothing to compensate the loss.

My cloud save just got borked.
It seems my yesterdays play session on laptop didn't sync as it should, even though I waited few min before shutting it down.
So first sync on desktop goes on, throws error on 98%, retry ... profile no longer available.
Yay
I have a bit older Sunrise folder backup, so ok, but wait, what's going on on laptop ... says I have newer save on it then in cloud, so use newer and up it.
Wait few min, 7zip the sunrise folder, copy to desktop, delete desktop sunrise folder, unzip the one from laptop, success :)
Seems my laptop and desktop are fine, also cloud should be happy.

Ehh...count me in :(

I'm running sync at this moment. How long do I have to wait until % will start to fill up. I'm at 0% for last 10-15min.

EDIT: Yay, 3% and moving. Fingers crossed :)

Sync complete. It looks like everything is OK :)

All I did was: delete local save + start the game and let it download save from cloud.

Just got this error again... straight after I had to force quit the game with alt+f4 because I encountered the bug where you can't bring up any menu. You can only laugh at the state this game is in really 🤣

edit - doing as Zip did above has worked for me after 40 mins of syncing using Microsoft's dial-up server (the only plausible explanation for it being so slow surely).

I just tried to log in and was greeted by this message. I know this is the wrong section of the forum but I can't figure out how to contact the support on https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us. Can someone help me to move things on?
I played a few hours ago and was thrilled since I finally was able snipe a Capri FE and now I'm fearing I bought a duped/hacked car without my knowledge.
Other people with the same problem said they fixed this problem by reseting their game in the store or deleting their savegames, but since I'm playing on PC with the game pass app I can't access the game files, nor do I own the game in the Microsoft store.

Yes you can access the save folder, they are not stored in the game folder. See a previous post above in this thread for the location.

When loading the game, I get the message: "The Forza Horizon profile you are trying to load is not available. Error code E: 47-0".

I just reset the application settings and tried to recover the profile from the cloud data but it did not help.
The message is still the same.
Maybe someone know, how to start the game and not to lose the data saved on my profile

i´ve restart my Xbox Series X, Reset to factory reset, nothing helps.
The error code is E:1047-0
I have already followed all suggestions from the FAQ, it doesnt works.

Can anyone help ?

It's my turn to have this again... just deleted my local save and waiting for it to hopefully download from the cloud successfully...ZZzzzzzzzz......

It worked, took about 40 mins again, 10 mins before it moved off 0%. Then the speeds were on a few hundred kilobits most of the time, sometimes going up to a few megabits. If it had used my full line speed it would have taken seconds to do the whole thing. But for whatever reason, Microsoft drip feeds it to you.

I've been dealing with this issue for the past few months too, ever since I reinstalled the game trying to fix the 'hang type: activation' bug.
Unable to play the game for months, then when they finally fix it my save won't work online (only offline). If I delete the local save and try to download it from the cloud I get this error.
Support have been basically useless.

I'm going to make a point of never buying another Forza or Microsoft-published game again. I adore FH4 but being denied its use is infuriating.

I woke up this morning and I was greeted with an Error E:47-0 that said my profile was invalid. Tried to do all that I can to fix the issue including the wgs folder thing but nothing happened and I still lost my 10 month old account. Last time I played was on December 4 and I already made a new game starting from scratch. I already put in 34 days worth of playtime on this and was already Prestige Level 2 390-ish and have gotten 880 cars (all autoshow cars and almost all of the seasonal reward cars save for the DB11 PO and 720S PO.) I've already submitted a ticket and I'm waiting on the response but I might as well post here since some people on reddit said I should post it here as well. I hope I can get the attention of mod for this one since I heard the best I can hope is to get compensated with wheelspins, cars and money.

UPDATE Dec 18 2020

Happened AGAIN. Contacted support already and now Im just waiting for them to send my inventory again. smh why has this happened again. Everything was fine until I switched to PC. I guess I'll go back to Xbox. It may be 30FPS but at least 30FPS doesn't kill my progress.

Do not send guides to fix this, there is none. It's a server backup sync error, becouse the sync server have the corrupted files. ONLY forza can fix it.

Forza please copy my cars, CR, level and remove my account, and make a new one og paste my old things back in it.

You'll have to open a ticket with them, I don't think they will respond to your forum post. I believe they will just instruct you to start a new game, and then contact them again when you've gone through the tutorial. They will then give you some CR and spins, but they won't do what you asked and copy your exact same cars, CR and level back.

I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue when trying to log into FH4? It seems to happen every few months. Every time, I've had to uninstall and reinstall the game. It resolves the issue every time, but I'm often missing things I had before (event completions, cars, etc.). Is there something I'm missing that will fix this without forcing me to do this lengthy reinstall? Thanks in advance.

You mean the E:47-0 problem?

I had this last month and I had it just the other day. Last month it seemed to be because of an update to the xbox app on my laptop, a process which logged me out. I needed to log back in, but after that, it was fine. But you do need to be aware that the app has got updated.

The same thing again this month, but this time, in spite of logging back into the xbox app and syncing the game for 4½ hours, it forced me to restart it from the very beginning, and I lost everything. Support was able to restore my cars, perk points, credits etc., which was a huge relief, but I've gone from prestige 6, level 352 to… Let's not go there.

There was another update to the xbox app today, which I was at least aware of. I checked that I was logged back into it after it'd been installed, and rebooted my laptop – belt and braces so to speak. FH4 seemed to be all right.

Anyway, that might help spare you from reinstalling the game, which I’ve also done in the past myself.
