P class has always been pretty dirty. Not sure anyone can fix that without penalties. Race Marshals barely made a dent in improving things. Wack a mole does not work. There will always be another wrecker to replace the one banned. I'm not sure they are adding race marshals anymore. This post is 2 years old. If Forza 8 is full penalties presumably they will not need them.

Last week, I ended up in a Leagues lobby in P class, with sim damage on. Friday night wasn't too bad. We had a pretty good small group, well behaved, and I even ended up winning a race, which for me is a rare event. And it was near the end of the rotation, so I was able to bail out and do a different lobby.

Saturday night, though... The only times I managed to survive the first lap was when I started at the back, and was able to wait out the carnage. If I was anywhere near the front, I'd get wrecked at turn 1, and have to go all the way around the track in limp home mode before I could pit. And there's no point quitting, either, because quitting a Leagues race looses points.

I did see a Marshal in a P ghost lobby around 2 weeks ago. He thought I was cutting but it was just I hadn't driven those cars in a while and kept overshooting first turn on Daytona. I remember he also got all dirty laps on the previous race so I was kind of shocked he was messaging me. I was just messing up really and don't think it helped my time. I forgot his name unfortunately but maybe he passes through regular P lobbies sometimes. I have not seen him in the B lobby it rotated too after the P class. Used to race P collision in FM4 all the time and it was clean, people talking in the lobby too but those days are long gone.

I'm curious as to why race marshals are a thing in a game where in single player the drivitars can be dirty at times. Its like we are trained by single player mode to race on the edge of dirty.

Forza Motorsport 8 should have a direct copy of Gran Turismo Sport's penalty system.

Honestly, just blatantly copy the WHOLE DAMN THING.

Forza online lobbies are a running joke and laughing stock in every SIM racing forum I visit, and have been for years.

If the whole system doesn't change, They may as well scrap online and make Forza 8 single-player only.

The AI in GT Sport has no qualms about taking you out especially on a long race at the last lap. No rewind.

I think some of it may have to do with the nature of the P/X classes. The cars are quite fast and in the hands of an average or casual player, that's a recipe for trouble. The lower classes are more forgiving, but a lot of people just want to hop into the fastest cars they can get their hands on.

Most of it probably isn't intentional. It can be hard to gauge other drivers positions for a start as everyone is using different cameras some have proximity markers that vanish for the person who technically falls behind, even if they are still alongside. Then there is the fact that (for me, at least) if my poor aching hands give the slightest twitch it causes catastrophic fails in these types of cars. I think this is the hardest driving game when it comes to seeing...especially lately. Anyone else think it always seems awfully dark in this game recently? It's almost like they're trying to cause a reason for having every car run it's headlights in every single race.

And there is very little difference between thinking you got delibertly hit and them thinking you delibertly hit them.

Forza GT endurance. Now thats where the dirtiest players lurk.

Bernese alps 8/12 laps I think minding my own business in 5th going into the massive right hander (reverse course) and literally from out of effing NOWHERE this dude CLEANS ME UP going the wrong direction and all. I was actually shocked at the effort they took to completely demolish my poor corvette haha
