After so much discussion here, I did try few more cars that could work for trial.
Still I find Hoonigan RS200 as one with best grip, Manta has less, but its faster, Fiesta GRC is fast, but again lacks some grip and so we came to Capri FE ...
First I put in big V8 with supercharger, so much torque, it just spins wheels for nothing, next try the revvy V8, and I could almost drive that car.
So here is I6 that has lowest power and torque, but at least I can drive it and do decent times.
If anyone wants to try it - 133 437 916

Finally! Break out the Champagne! I finally managed it 2-1 after 25+ attempts, this time using the Hoonigan RS200, with my own, cobbled together S1900 tune.

If anyone is interested, the share code is: 347 836 162

Couldn't try any other tunes as I'm maxxed out at 500 (this is another in-game annoyance).

Probably better tunes out there, but this it's quick, with decent handling and I even managed get 2nd in one race after being pushed outside a checkpoint by the eventual winner of that race.

I normally play with TCS & SC off, but had to turn them on yesterday for this Trial and forgot to turn them off, so the handling may be different if you drive the above tune with settings those off.

As a glutton for punishment, I just tried it with TCS & SC off and fared worse in the first race after some early ramming by team mates (why?), but seemed to get a good lead in the second race, despite starting from the back and came 1st, but ended up being the only point scorer on my team. Third race I left my losing team to it as they all ploughed into my rear end, forcing me off the road before the second check point!

I do hope they eventually complete The Trial with that attitude! NOT!

Cannot quite remember that one, unless it was the one with the OP Mavericks that were 1/2 a mile in front before the 2nd checkpoint.

This Trial the worst I've played in any of the Festival Playlists, despite kicking butt in the first race multiple times and coming 1st to 3rd on the second race many times!

Thanks for the offer ziperrPL

Done it now after about 25 attempts.

Never saw your invites yesterday though. Maybe my settings?

Just did some Rivals testing of four cars which have been mentioned here on all three courses. Cars used were:

1. Ford Capri FE (tune by Uber Driving)
2. Opel Manta (tune by Waznewz)
3. Hoonigan Escort (tune by WangKeRui)
4. Hoonigan RS200 (tune by Ang3lr1pp3r)

Riverbank

1. RS200 - 53.8
2. Capri - 55.1
3. Opel - 55.9
4. Escort - 56.7

Windmill

1. Capri - 1.49.4
2. RS200 - 1.51.6
3. Opel - 1.52.4
4. Escort - 1.54.0

Ambleside

1. Capri - 1.49.7
2. RS200 - 1.53.013
3. Opel - 1.54.6
4. Escort - 1.56.6

Based on that, the Capri takes wins on two of the three courses, with big gaps. However, what the stats do not show is that it took me more runs with the Capri to reach its potential. It is far harder to drive than the RS200 and requires very careful control. My order for the trial would therefore be:

1. RS200 - insane grip on Offroad surfaces and incredibly stable. Weaknesses are limited top end speed and heavily affected by debris. An easy ride and perfect for less experienced drivers.

2. Capri - high top speed, less affected by debris than other cars in class and solid Offroad grip. Weakness is that it can be difficult to keep it straight through corners making it less consistent than the RS200.

3. Opel - stable and decent acceleration, handling and top speed. Relatively easy to drive. However, it has much worse Offroad grip than the cars above and, like the Capri, can require careful management.

4. Escort - this has more speed than the RS200 but that’s probably it’s only advantage. Very slidey and has real difficulties with any water. You can win the trial in it but will have to have things go your way or drive exceptionally.

Also, I'm done for today. Number of people from forum, that I helped in trial = 0. LOL

That trial was insanely annoying. The rain is bad enough but whats worse we're all doing it in Rally Monsters which are my least favorite group of cars

Could try, but before I do, here are some stats of my S1 cars:
- Hoonigan RS200 - 977kg / 350kW / 650Nm
- Ford Capri FE - 905kg / 497kW / 690Nm
- Opel Manta 400 - 999kg / 506kW / 666Nm
- Ford Fiesta GRC 1247kg / 498kW / 926Nm
This again explains why I felt that Fiesta was just spinning wheels on so many places and in consequence sliding all over the place, as did Capri with V8 (959kg / 517kW / 940Nm).
So much torque, but so little grip offroading, could work on tarmac, but no luck here.

Have you's tried out the normal Ford version? I used that, finished 2nd all 3 races and another guy in one won 2 of them.

Though regardless of car driver skill is the biggest factor, if I remember correctly the 3rd best player in my team was a low level around 60 in a stock Hoonigan Focus and in all 3 races he beat 2 people who were in the 100's + prestiged once and both in 900PI cars, 1 of which was another RS200 like mine.

I don't want to talk about the Trial. It's over. We won. And at least I don't have to do it again. But I don't want to talk about it.

The Weekly Forzathon, though was a pain. I got the first 3 easily, but the 4th one, win 4 Cross Country events; I tried to combo it with the "AWD All Day" championship, but I messed up the 2nd race, and only had 2 in the bag. So I went to Lego Valley to finish the other two, which I won easily, but for some reason didn't register. I did a 3rd, but it still didn't take. So I had to go back to the mainland to do two more. For some reason, traveling to DLC locations doesn't count, so it took me a good 45 mins longer than it should have.

Wow the comments weren't wrong about the trial. I normally get it sorted Thursday evening, but only just started playing FH4 tonight as been playing some Gamepass games that were leaving tonight so had to get them finished.

Normally the trial is a 1 and done for me and a lot of the time win all 3 races baring any rams to miss check points.

This trial feels like the cars on ice where as the drivatars are glued to the track. Ive tried a few cars but all the same. Seems to be in the trial they drive completely different than free roam. Changed my tune on the RS200 to soften the suspension so that helped with the bumps but still feels like im on ice at times.

If anyones up for a convoy and hopefully get a few players that would be great. GT is same as my name here.

If you are on now Mossman, I was just about to log off and go to bed but have just sent you an invite.

Looks like you are in a race. I’ll hang around for 10 minutes - feel free to convoy me. I’ll look for Ford Puma tunes in the meantime!

I am on. I didn't get an invite. Ive just started a trial. I'll see if you are still online after I finish or quit.

Edit

Thanks to Jezza14 got it sorted. Ended up looking like an amateur as Jezza14 won all 3 races and I came no where. Just felt the cars drove completely different in the trial compared to single player. So much so I had even rebooted my Xbox after a couple of failed trials.

@ziperr
You can try - 116 366 272 / RS200 - 1131kg / 410kW / 824Nm, left the rest of the setup more or less the same as I had on lighter one.

If anyone else needs a shorter route for Mini X-Raid Forzathon, I made one custom, along with the rest of my tunes for this week, all can be found on first page:

For those that wanna get the four Forzathon CC races done real quick, here's four "5 Second Sprint" races.

210 439 184 - City Outskirts CC
118 884 268 - Whitewater Falls CC
127 811 143 - Ambleside Rush CC
762 247 166 - Windmill CC

JUST GO STRAIGHT!

You could just do the same race x 4 times I suppose, but where's the fun in that? LOL

Using the first one above (City Outskirts CC), all four races can be done in just under 3 minutes.

This includes all the pre-race and post-race animations and is more efficient as you re-spawn at City Outskirts CC race location when returning to free-roam after the previous race is finished.

Not just you DRC I'm afraid:

200 Super Wheel Spins

Takes me from a measly 190 Super Wheel Spins:

190 Super Wheel Spins

To a more respectable 389 Super Wheel Spins (reduced by 1 for accepting them):

389 Super Wheel Spins

My new goal is to get to 500 Super Wheel Spins! LOL

This is on top of the 2406 regular wheel spins I also have, which I'll probably never use now.

Shame you cannot gift them to someone, but I suppose some unscrupulous players would create a black market for that.

Any word why we got the 200 free Super Wheel Spins?

Usually a large "Gift" like the is compensation for something.

Like the 'Skill Points' we all received months ago (30,000+ in my case) as compensation for having all out garage cars defaulted back to zero points applied.

I still haven't used all mine (still got over 9000), but because I'm over 999, I've not gained a single point during hundreds of hours of gameplay. :(

Which, I know I don't need them, but it would be nice to accumulate what you earn throughout the game.

thank you el barto and betinhogvz.
Did some testing - heavy RS200 did break through wall better, also seemed to be more stable, but bit harder to make it turn. It was accelerating better at high speed, but...
it is just better to use the lighter one. They are easier to drive.
"offroad" by el barto inc, "sazonal trial" by betinhogvz or "s1 power dirt" by ang3lr1pp3r are all very good tunes. My rivals time in Riverbank CC (first race in trial) was set in betinhogvz tune. But all of them can do under 52. Not to mention that this is probably not best time and Jezza will beat it tonight :P

PS. betinhogvz - it was supposed to be "heavy and powerful" RS200 tune. You are now added to followed tuners ;)

Ziperr is being modest and has failed to mention that his Rivals time is the 11th fastest out of over 4,000 and within 2 tenths of the fastest time in anything bar the Trailcat. I’ve had a quick go and can’t match his pace. Great driving and tuning guys 👍.
