The second race was all team losses until my 6th attempt at the trial.

The third race decided to have a glitched checkpoint....that restarts you past the checkpoint over and over and over and over and over. *shakes head*

Lost the trial 5 straight times. This has never happened to me....not once. I used the hoonigan RS200 for the first 5 attempts. Switched to the Capri FE and....sure enough....won the trial....despite the fact every teammate AND drivatar was trying to ram me off the track...probably due to jealousy over the Capri.

The Hoonigan RS200 is capable of winning the trial, I was on the winning team just now (4th or 5th attempt, not sure), I was first in the Hoonigan RS200 for the first two races, using Jvvyy’s Mudkickers tune.

Think that’s an S2 tune FN. Suspect you are actually using Ang3lr1pp3r’s tune for S1? I may not have all the numbers in the right place in his name there. Nice driving earlier by the way - we nearly dragged that team to the win 👍.

I’m going to run the trial a few times now if anyone wants to convoy?

Oops I forgot it was S1... I just remembered the tune I was using the S2 RS200 from earlier. (I have two of those cars with an S1 and S2 tune so I don't have to swap tunes for different class events.)

Yes, exactly I was using Ang3lr1pp3r's tune, and yes I thought we would win that, never mind!

The problem is with the implementation of Cross Country, adding obstacles all over the track is just plain stupid. It is taking the lack of realism just too far. It is difficult and your average player is going to have a hard time with this. PG remember Storm Island? - just do it like that next time. CC was great there. Now I reset the game when I see it come up in ranked which is almost every time for me, it's a cruel joke, Just no. Pretty much all I did in H2. Now I dread it.

I've just spent a while trying to tune the Manta for the Trial. I can't do it. It's fine for race 1, I've won that the last two times now. But as soon as you get bumpy ground in the last 2 races, it just doesn't have the stability, even though I've done everything that can be done, to the max, to the point of it now being barge-like going round corners on tarmac. But despite the rear end being glued to the ground on smooth terrain, on bumps it still just wants to get sideways.

The Puma is a great car, shame about the seats, still makes it 9.8/10 though, it has nice customization options and good performance.

Only thing worse than The Titan in Autumn is the Japanese Speed Challenge tracks from NFS ProStreet (name is censored, lol).

I’ve now done the trial about 10 times. I think it’s a reasonably fair test (seemingly unless you are using a wheel - sorry Bree!). You really need to win the first two though, as most randoms struggle in the wet in the third race.

Id definitely stick to the Hoonigan RS200 as first choice. It’s quite light so the debris is annoying but it’s grip is immense. The Capri FE has less grip (or at least the tunes I’ve tried have) but more power and is less troubled by debris so that’s another option. It’s possibly quicker but harder to drive.

Did the Trial and won first attempt by using '85 Ford RS200 Evo with a tune by Don Joewon Song. This car and tune are my Trials preference for this category and class.

The first two races the team won but failed terribly in the third. This Trial is very challenging due to the hay bales and jumps make these cars unsettled.

Only took me two tries but this sums up my experience as well. Was lucky enough to get matched with two Hoonigan RS200's who carried the team. I brought the Capri FE since that's what the initial posts recommended but it felt like a bucking bronco trying to control it. It could be just as good in the right hands though.

I aimed to win the first two races too and thank god I did. The third race is a nightmare. Cheap jump physics that bounces you around more than the Angry Video Game Nerd playing Sunday Funday.

Don't forget, the Hoonigan RS200 is the 50% reward this season. If you don't have it already, you might want to do some other events and come back to the Trial once you have it.

Trial: S1 900 1986 Hoonigan Ford RS200 Evolution, tune - 545 011 302
or Opel Manta, tune - 697 565 946[/quote]

Three-hours trying to complete The Trial today: the worst racing in long-long time.

A single race this evening and El Barto inc. delivers a fantastic tune.
We won the first race despite three folks rage quitting.
We won the second race and would've won the third had I not missed a flag.

It was all done so fast, I asked myself what do I do now? Well, by doing a Forzathon and it proved to be stable and fast again. Thanks for a very, very great tune.

Before this victory, I tried a couple of tunes using the 1973 Ford Capri RS3100 FE. These were good drivers but lacked the speed on the long runs to catch the opposition's leaders.
AE86 Cowboy - 513 336 275
Uber Driving - 112 989 977

The Opel Manta was not used today but, maybe tomorrow when I try to boost wins for some other guys.

Hello all,

Cars/tunes/suggestions for this weeks seasonal for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, all shared. ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don't forget to leave a like.

**Trial: "What's That Coming Over the Hill?" | Cross Country | (S1 900) Rally Monsters
**Car used: 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 (Autoshow 300,000 Cr)
**Tune: Autumn CC Trial / 108 419 236

There are two tunes for this car at S1 900 on my profile, they appear the same, they are not, although difference is minor (the other should work, but is harder to control for rainy cross country). This one is running max aero, and has very slightly more ground clearance (was helpful). ... AWD, turbo, Forza aero, rally tires

**Seasonal Playground Games | Railyard | (S1 900) Track Toys
**Car used:2014 BAC Mono (Autoshow 160,000 Cr)
**Tune: S1 Games Rail / 153 624 733

Easy to drive and fast car for games at the Railyard, great acceleration, very good grip. Tune is AWD, with rally tires.

Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability; Off, Gearbox: Auto.

Just done one at this time:
**Championship: "AWD All Day" | Cross Country | (A800) Extreme Offroad, AWD
**Car used: 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck (Autoshow 500,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 CC Offroad / 637 166 137

Good around performer for this cross country event, fast with handling. Tune is AWD, engine swapped for 6.2L V8. The car turns wide at speed (loss of traction), bear this in my while entering corners at speed, otherwise very predicable driver.

PR Stunts:
- Hillside Speed Zone, 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 - 'S900 Rally Trial' (680 307 281) - did this too many time, because got the wrong required speed in my head, and would reset at the last corner if was not doing that speed, should be no issue once you learn the corners, and are thinking of the correct speed requirement,
- High Street Speed Trap, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - 'PR Stunt Rally' (120 633 544) ~ tune not required, any car that can make the required speed will easily get this due to the straight downhill run,
- Open-Cast Cliff Danger Sign, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - 'PR Stunt Rally' (120 633 544) ~ only a short run up is needed and you should get it on first attempt hitting the ramp squarely.

Enjoy.

I mean, you don't have to do the trial but the win is just a boost for your own ego. :)

And after several attempts I've made it yesterday. Thanks to my awesome teammates at this point.

I've used the Ford Capri FE, it's a great car for this but it is unstable and if you get airborne with it you have to line it up perfectly, otherwise you're in the ditch.

The Trial? Wow...just wow!!Have been playing this game for 3 months now and this is the first time I have seriously considered not completing the Trial. 6 attempts and counting using both the RS200 (my fabourite off-road car) and the Hoonigan Escort...most of the time I have won the first 2 races but team-mates were nowhere or, as in the last attempt, had a team-mate kept trying to force me off the course so I quit. Was hoping to manage 100% on an entire series for the first time (I rarely do playground games as I suck at them but have been lucky the last 2) but not convinced I will ever get the Trial done....this kind of event makes me wonder why Playground are trying to get people to stop playing the game?

As for the rest of the Playlist, it was all fairly simple, albeit fun at times. DId the retro rally in both a Honda Civic and the Mk3 Golf, Jaguar race in F-Type R COupe (already had a tune on it), The Quaryy Off-Road in a Jeep Trailcat. PGG was done in a KTM X-Bow....was easy as we won the 1st event, 2 opposing players dropped out...won the 2nd and the rest dropped out so we won by default (though I thought the game had frozen as it took nearly 5 minutes to go from event finish to results...almost quit the game..glad I waited lol). PR stunts were done in the Mosler and my RS200 for the Speed Trial.

A little disappointed there's next to nothing new on either DLC island...I get things have been scaled down due to circumstances but they get very neglected

I think i tried about an 1h.
AI was using the force again. Moving from left to right in the air, pushing ,ramming, you named it. Like are real forza rammer you see on youtube.

In a way it makes sense. If the drivartars are built using real data from other players then here's the result. Nothing devs can do about it.

Managed to find some real players and and won all rounds but i'm really considering not to do all events going forward.
You know just for the new cars and thats it.

I got the Trial done at my third attempt, using a Capri FE. It took a bit of practice controlling it on these courses, but once I had a better handle on it, I was able to use its power to get ahead of the AI fairly quickly on races one and two. I then managed to hold up the AI enough to let another few on my team get into the lead, giving us fairly comfy victories in the end. Luckily, we only had one player who seemed to like ramming the other huimans! Definitely not fun to do, though.

I usually knock out the playlist in a couple hours on the weekend but after reading about the trouble people were having with the trial I decided to try it out last night. Oof! Spent a couple of hours on it, with 4 different cars and multiple tunes with no luck. I was able to take 1st in race 1 a bunch of times and my team usually won that one. Race 2 was 50/50. I think I won it once but usually got 2nd or 3rd to the drivatars, my team could never take that one and the third race is a mess. There are a lot of places where the cars get really out of shape in the second and third races. You really need a solid team that can keep it together. Uncooperative teammates make this one really difficult. I have 100% completion on every single playlist except for one where I missed a daily and I think this is the worst one since that time they ended up giving everyone a Mosler. Actually, that Mosler trial wasn't as difficult as this one.

Not the fastest but the most stable car for me was the Ford 14 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing GRC Fiesta. The Manta gets light in the front and goes sideways too often. I haven't tried the Capri FE because I find it to be inherently squirelly at the best of times but I'll give it a shot tonight.

For those using the Capri FE, I tried two tunes yesterday. The first was completely undriveable to the extent I finished last in the first race. However, the second one I tried by Uber Driving was pretty stable and had a big speed advantage on the drivatars. I won the first race by 10 seconds and had big leads in the other two as well.

Just to again repeat though that if you have the Hoonigan RS200 and are finding this event difficult, then that is the car you should be using. It has immense grip and nearly everyone I’ve seen driving it in the trial has done well. Ang3lr1pp3r’s tune works well.

The only other car I’ve seen anyone do reasonably well with in the trial is the standard Ford RS200 but that definitely won’t be as strong as the Hoonigan version.

Waznewz is a good driver and he practices extensively for the trial. Based on his YouTube, the Opel Manta is also capable of winning but I see he felt compelled to switch to the Hoonigan RS200 for his second attempt (even though it technically breaks his rule of using cars available in the Autoshow). He ruled out every other Rally Monster as not being good enough.

My tune of the Manta is blisteringly quick, I think it has a better power to weight ratio than the '05 Ford GT, with the same tyres. I just can't make it stable enough to handle the bumps with a wheel. With a controller you can quickly flick the stick to either extreme to bring the car back in line, but with a wheel, you've had it if you go airborne in anything other than a perfectly straight line. So the first race is fine, as it's largely smooth terrain, and the jumps are okay as you can line yourself up nice and straight, and you take off from a flat surface. But in the second two, you're often going airborne from ground that isn't perfectly flat, and the car just slides all over the place when it lands. I've even gone as far as making it put more power through the front wheels than rear wheels, which helped a lot, but it still does it. In terms of speed, though, it's hilarious how it powers past the drivatars, I already had a big lead over everyone else in race 2 by the time we reached the windmill.

I haven't tried the Hoonigan RS200 as it was so bad for the Northland dirt track, but maybe it's better on grass than dirt.

Edit: I should add, I have won the Trial, I did it once where I think 4 of us beat at least 5 AI in the first two races, so we won easily.

If you are struggling with this (very bad) trial and you have in garage the Capri FE, try this tune (158 507 631) By E36 BMW MP7.
This tune is very balanced and has a good grip with a strong speed. It is capable (as in my case) to win all three races of the trial.
Hope that this can help.

What's worse than The Trial itself is those players who hang on in there despite being in last place! Just had another second race where we were beaten by 250 points, but yet two of my team were 11th & DNF! Just quit for the love of god!

Ditto for me. I’m going to spend a bit of time running Rivals for these events with a few Rally Monsters but I’m around to join a convoy if helpful.
