Recently, I stopped playing Forza Motorsport 7 and 6 after finally
figuring out what I disliked about it. These two almost
identical games have a very nasty, annoying vertical bouncing, bobbing
and shuddering of the forward view. Shutting off or turning
on camera effects doesn't change it. It is mostly a problem in cockpit
view and hood view, which I always use. I have placed You Tube links
to 3 vids showing the problem: First vid is a real world reference
of a BMW gt car at spa francorchamps. One sees here how a
real car windshield view looks on paved smooth well maintained tracks.
Very little if any vertical bobbing up and down of the car nose; occasional slight
shudder at turning points etc. Second vid link shows
Forza 6 versus Project Cars 1 at Francorchamps. FH6 on the left side, watch the top of windshield line
bob up and down and constant vertical shudder. Camera effects on or off has no influence
on this - I have tested both ways. Project Cars 1, right side of screen,
has very little vertical bobbing. The windshield top line stays steady, the same distance from top
of display screen; like the bmw real world example. Third video link
shows FH7, a Porsche at Nordshleife. Watch the top line of windshield
constantly bouncing up and down. More like a motorboat bouncing on waves
than a car on a smooth, well maintained track. I quit playing FH6 and 7;
I prefer Project Cars 1 (2 is no good). FH6 and 7 make me distracted, annoyed, and slightly
seasick with the vertical bouncing through races. FH8 should fix this issue.
It's annoying, whatever realism programmers tried to display. Copy/paste
these links to browser, view 3 examples: Best viewed in roku etc streaming tv.
