New spring rates paid off. Car is noticeably more composed through Eau Rouge/Raidillon and the big multi-apex left (Blanchimont; had to look it up) just before the Bus Stop, which were two of the three areas I was having trouble with. Took a hard look at the gearing, as well, and came up with one that gets me to 149 by the end of the main (Kemmel; had to look that up, too) straight and still keeps me more-or-less in the powerband through the rest of the turns. Will take a look at the ARBs next and see if I can't net some improvement there. Other than that, I think the setup is pretty much done.

Current best: 2:44.316 in HLC04 B600 Spa 4

Decided to give the DB5 a rest and take a Porsche Carrera out for a spin. Went through a few iterations of the build (some of which were pretty wild-and-wooly) and settled on one with 300 horses on Sport rubber. Gives a nice balance between power and driveability, and still retains a lot of the car's personality (read: "It still tries to swap ends under braking and tends to go through corners sideways if you're not careful."). Best I managed in it so far is 2:45.999, but I think with a little work I can bring that down a good bit.

New PB today. Only 0.066 off bc I screwed up the final chicane and did not exit smoothly but instead slid all over the place......2:50:134....... 😎

Achieved a dirty 2:48:xxx so perhaps I can get thru my wall.... but I realized that I’m Top 70 on this track at nite in this class which is nothing to 🤧 at...... in a Porsche 550 so looking good while doing it too......

After tomorrow I will need to hang up my drivers suit for Spa as I’m going to my fathers until next Wednesday.....so I’ll give it a go as time permits 😝 but the above time is likely to be my final time..... then I’ll be back in top form for the next challenge and C class wherever it takes us.....

I’ll repost the official time tomorrow evening....

Finally got it that after about 30 laps I feel like and about 5 different tune changes

Mb 300sl 2:39.942 I believe the tune is v2 I just overwrite from the last v2

Have many times I got dirty on the very last left hander or the right hander just before it was enough to drive me mad but finally after chasing moss ghost all morning I got it 🤙🏼

Got some more seat time in the Carrera. Made some (very minor) adjustments to the build and setup based on how the initial worked, got a solid mid-2:45 lap to study, and took a gander at the telemetry. Ended up raising the rear spring rates and ride height a bit to give the rear some room to move, increased the front/rear split on the ARBs to try to keep the nose down around corners, and a few other tweaks. Really wish there was a "save best lap replay" feature, as sifting through 10 laps to find the one I actually want to study gets old. One of the disadvantages of running a second car, I suppose. Regardless, the car's a blast to drive, pretty controllable (for a vintage Porsche), and potentially able to keep up with the DB5 if I can ever string together a solid lap. Setup is uploaded as HLC04 B600 Spa 2, if anyone cares to try it.

Current Carrera best: 2:45.2ish.

Driving in the semi-darkness was a challenge, but thanks to all 32 drivers for participating with a clean lap. Welcome to our new drivers Daw88, and teovlc, and welcome back Chronic 957.

Yet another very evenly matched division, with 4 different cars used in the top 4 leaderboard positions. Great to see!

The result was very close yet again, with less than 4 tenths separating our winner, minsons, from the podium place finishers. xAlea Jacta Est, and HLR Bubba. Great driving everyone, and congratulations minsons!

Here is a snapshot of the final standings:

Congratulations to our winners:

Tier 1 Winner: minsons wins a paint for his 1957 Ferrari 250 California.

Tier 2 Winner: haulmarc wins a paint for his 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder.

Tier 3 Winner: xxJ0n4Th0Nxx wins a paint for his 1955 Porsche 550.

Tier 4 Winner: Mr Pinstripes wins a paint for his 1964 Aston Martin DB5.

Tuners Prize: minsons deservably wins a paint for his 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder, that HLR Bubba drove to #4 on the WW leaderboard. minsons' setups proved very popular this time.

To claim your paints, message HLR Moss to arrange it's sharing whilst you are waiting in the car to download. We don't want anyone else to grab them. They are each personalised for the winner and hopefully will provide you with a memory of the event.

For our next challenge we are off to Road America for some historic road racing. We hope you enjoy it!

Hmm... Not sure what I'm going to run here. Probably end up in a '65 Mustang (even if she is the most popular girl at prom), as the rest of them don't really speak to me at all. The Torana wouldn't be bad if it didn't have a worse weight distribution than most FF hot hatches.

Nice touch, Moss. My wife got a kick out of it. Will pick it up when I get a chance to get on Forza. New job pretty much bogarts all my free time, so it'll probably be the weekend before I get the chance.

Edit to add: Also, thanks for keeping the wire wheels unpainted. I've tried them with color and they just look odd.
