I am guessing licensing plays a partial deal in which cars appear as barn finds and which don't. Some car companies don't want to see their cars all rustic looking in games, and since the cars looked old rustic in Forza Horizon 1, they probably have to agree to it.

On a side note, I hope that they let us customize the barn finds ourselves. I would love to get an old Ford Deluxe Coupe to remain with its rustic appearance, but fully tune the thing. You can repeat the rustic look in paint, yes, but not the chrome bumpers or headlight covers.

Have they said anywhere the Barn Finds will not include the cars they've already revealed? If not, I'll bet dollars to donuts that the VW Type 2 Bus will be one.

They haven't said whether or not that would be the case.

I personally wish they would NOT be revealed, but then I would have to try and dance around the forums and Facebook trying avoid spoilers.

I see everybody talking Ferraris and other rare and expensive cars and here I am thinking "There probably aren't too many jeeps in europe but a few may have slipped through the cracks from WWII." I think that would make sense as a barn find. Along with the VW Bus

Seconding this, I wanna find an AMX/3 or a '72 BMW Turbo concept rusting away in a barn. Hell, maybe even a Lancia Stratos Zero.

I think the barn finds should all be wishlists because apparently those are quite difficult to find.

If only people knew how to use the wishlist. A discussion of in-game cars for barn finds would be quite different. Everyone here asking for barn finds to be cars that aren't in the game, let me help you out ---> CLICK HERE <---

All I want in Barn Finds are make them RANDOM. That way people actually have to look for them instead of just going to the net to find where they are.

You don't have to look at those pages that show the barn find locations you know...

I'm going to adopt the same tactic this time around as last time. For the first couple of weeks i'll be avoiding anything that seems to show anything Horizon 2 related. I want to enjoy the game and find stuff for myself before seeing anything that will show me secrets etc. It worked for Horizon 1 to some extent, and i'm sure it will work this time around too.

I fully agree, I wish the barn experience was more creative. For example, once you have discovered the "barn find", Dax presents you with his appraisal, and more important, your options. Each option has a suitable cost in credits, as well. Your options would be:

Leave it as a "survivor". Fresh tires, new battery, get it running and safe to operate. No cosmetic changes, no upgrades. Minimal cost.

Create a "rat rod". No cosmetic upgrades, but "street" or "sport" level upgrades to running gear.

Build a "retro-rod". Repair body to stock condition, new chrome, etc. Unlimited customizations, race and rally included. Maybe an option to delete chrome, to save coin?

Do a "Concours" restoration. Full rotisserie, all original parts, and no expense spared. Most expensive option. This is essentially what Dax is doing in FH1.

When you first discover the barn find, you may not have (or want to spend) the credits needed for a full "restoration". Maybe a "survivor" for a few hundred credits, or a "rat rod" for a few thousand, is all you can afford. "Retro-mods" might cost tens of thousands, while a full "Concours" might be hundreds of thousands. If you have selected any option besides "survivor", you are next taken to the "Tuning" menus, where you can make your upgrade selections, and see the total costs for the proposed build. Once you make your final selections, Dax goes off to build your ride, and let you know when it can be picked up at the garage.

Also, the body can be "as found" only once. That is, once you go to a "Retro-mod" or full "Concours", no going back to "rat rod" or "survivor". You would be able to switch between "retro-mod" and "Concours", as the body would be the same, only different mechanicals. Basically, just 2 different saved "Tuning Set-ups".

With this approach, you could also restrict certain events to just "Concours" cars, or just to "rat rods" and Retro-mods".

I believe, based on the current car list released, that possible barn finds will be the following: 1945 Jeep Willys MB, 1965 Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE, 1977 Ford Escort RS1800, 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ2 or 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupé, 1973 Renault Alpine A110 1600S, 1956 Lotus Eleven and obviously (sarcastically for those who can't tell) 2013 Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG. These are not confirmed, nor have any base for confirmation, so take it with a grain of salt. However, there will likely be over a dozen, maybe 18, barn finds (if I recall what I read correctly, too tired to do any real searching for the source.)

This was essentially a real-life barn find. Granted, that was in Russia, but it is still a great classic car.

As this was in FM5, it has been in Forza but never in FH.

The AU Type D would be an EXCELLENT barn find, but there's one problem: it's open wheel. The FH1 engine could not render open wheeled cars (lacking animated suspension bitz), and FH2 on the 360 uses same engine.

Since both versions of FH2 will have the same car list, this limitation would exclude open wheel cars from both, even though the XB1 version COULD pull it off. Of course, it remains to be seen if the DLC for both games will be the same.

EDIT: If we DID get a car like this, I'd rather have the Maserati 8CTF or Ferrari 375. They look and sound better.

Open-wheel cars have already been confirmed with the addition of the Atom, so it's an official possibility.

Anyways, I heard around that the cars they have shown will be available from the store, I was kinda already hoping that the Barn Finds would be with cars I didn't know about so it would actually be a surprise. I don't think they announced the FH1 barn find cars before release, but if they did I missed that article.

What I think they should really do is one of the most legendary barn finds in history, the Plymouth Superbird or the Dodge Charger Daytona. With the pointed nose and high spoiler and everything. They had it in FM4, and it was one of my favorite vehicles. It would be so great if they had it back in as a barn find.

My second request would be for the DeTomaso Pantera, which we haven't confirmed yet. That would be awesome.

I agree entirely! Finding a Superbird or a Charger Daytona in a barn is like hitting a vein of gold. But I doubt they'll even be in the game, the Superbird has never appeared in a Forza title and the Daytona didn't appear at all in FM5; and the running tally is that FH2 has no new Muscle Cars that hasn't already been in a previous Forza title. Of course that could change in the remaining releases, but it's not something I'd hold my breath over.

Frankly I'm a little surprised that the 69 SS Camaro hasn't made the list so far, considering it got a significant face lift for Forza 5, and that it's been a Forza staple since the first title.

I think that the barn finds won't be unveiled until we play the game. I don't want Playground/Turn 10 to spoil it for us.

Based on the achievement list, it looks like we will have at least ten barn finds.

I don't think that they'll do that. I have a strong suspicion that the Jeep is a barn find.

That's depressing. Only 10 barn finds.

Be as positive and hopeful about it as you want but I'm betting it's only 10.

You would find on average ALL of the barn-finds before 50% of the game completed in the first horizon.

I think that there is at least 10 barn finds. The achievement should have been "find all of the barn finds", not 10. That way, we would find out how many barn finds that we have once we play the game.

Someone said earlier that they read somewhere there were 18. Was anyone able to find a source one way or another?

Also, I agree that the achievement does not specify that there are 10, but as my original post said, there are AT LEAST 10.

I don't recall anyone from PG saying anything about the exact number of barn finds. We know that
1) There are more of them compared to FH1 (at least 10, as you just said) and
2) half of them are completely new to Forza. Fulvia, Alpine, 250GT, Capri, the old Jeep and such are all likely
