The only two cars I’ve been able to break 2.50 in are the Renault and the 037. Pretty certain I could get into the 2.47s with one or other of those but don’t think 2.46 would be possible.

Don’t think I’ve broken 2.52 with anything else. Both the Lancer and Legacy work out around that mark for me. Just don’t seem to work well on auto - or manual which I had a few tries with. I’m going to presume you need MC to get the best out of those.

Going to have a break from this now - having also ran a load of S1 runs on the same course last week - and see how low I fall over the next few days! There seem to be a whole bunch of racers now within a second of my time, just primed to go past me!

Most cars with stock AWD drivetrain such as lancer, 22B, legacy etc features transmission options which lower PI in comparison to race trans, but increase shift times for non-MC users

Cheers makes sense. I was experimenting with race clutch/transmission on the lancer and legacy yesterday but obviously then have to compensate on either weight or power to a reasonably significant degree. Couldn’t find an option which made too much difference to my time.

In order to offer more incentives to all drivers, we have decided to introduce a league system to our H4 HLCs.

After the first event, Drivers will be split into 3 or 4 tiers depending on their times set at each HLC:

Tier 1 Unbeatable
Tier 2 Professional
Tier 3 Expert
Tier 4 Highly Skilled

Prize liveries will be awarded to Tier winners and to the Tuner posting a time and sharing a setup that is driven by another competitor to the highest place on the leaderboard at the end of the week.

New drivers will join a tier for the following week's HLC dependant on the time they set. They can only win tier 1 in their first week.

Winners of tiers 2, 3, and 4 wll be promoted to the tier above.

Losers of tiers 1, 2, and 3 will be relegated to the tier below, unless their time is better than the winner of the tier below.

Other drivers from tiers 1, 2, and 3 can be relegated if more than 3 drivers from the tier below beat their time.

If a driver does not post a time they will not be relegated but if a driver doesn't post a time for 4 consective weeks their name will be removed from the tiers. If that driver rejoins at a later date they will be treated like a new driver.

Sounds a good plan!

My slightly improved time in the Renault is still with Ang3l’s tune by the way. I see PRkid has nipped slightly ahead of me though, so I may have to try a few more runs - surely I can find another 0.1 seconds?

Had one run last night when I got the bridge and following left hander absolutely perfect and was significantly ahead of my own ghost but made a total mess of the two hairpins down the hill. Based on that, I clearly could do a 2.47 but how long it would take me to get exactly right is anyone’s guess!

Shared an evo 6 tune. identical build as the one used in my run but with more tweaks to tuning.

Will revisit the rivals in the next few days, hopefully.

This is an excellent tune! I was able to match Moss time with it.

Nicely done Midnyte. Lot of us in the 2.48s now.

Small correction to the leaderboard - my best time is on the 037 not the Renault. Apologies, I keep switching between them. Ang3l’s tune.

I've yet to break 3:02.xxx!! Dont worry, you're just fine. I cant believe how bad I am at this all of a sudden. Quite discouraging. But I'm still trying.

Just built an Evo, 6.2 swap 475hp. It's what feels the best so far. I've tried a few of the shared tunes and still struggle. Either I'm missing something, my tunes are bad or retro rally and this track just isn't my bag. Oh well.

I'll be giving this a few more tries and I'm sure I'll build a few more cars, for better or worse. Gotta give the FM7 series a go sometime this weekend as well! Somebody's gotta be the gate keeper.

Ha, yeah, I saw your Galant at the bottom of the spreadsheet. Mine will be next-to-the bottom, so we'll blame the car. :)

Just discovered this thread today. Lots of awesome here!

No better group of FAST but helpful, cool folk that set insane fast times and build really good rides. I just try to stay close. Sometimes it works, most of the time no such luck.

I won't go further than my current 2:42.994. If some1 beat it I wouldn't try again. Getting a low-error run on this track would be absolute nightmare :P
Greddy might have been a bit busy on the Forza Stage touge racing group lately. I feel like he would beat me if he wants to as he's had quite some achievements in monthly rivals. Or maybe some others would beat me, who knows :)

Sooo... is there a tier 5?! It appears that FH4 being released without rivals and the following year of me just playin around with drag cars has had an adverse effect on my skill set. Whew!! I will say I think I put in maybe 25 runs all together, in 5 different cars prolly not enough to get better. I need to do better!

Anyway, I'm not going to be able to get back on before this one is over, not that I was threatening the leaderboards, lol!

I'm glad these are back, I definitely hope to get back to at least being somewhat competitive!

Thanks everyone for taking part. We saw some very close racing with many tied times throughout the leaderboard.

A variety of cars were run, with the Lancer Evo VI proving the most successful. TDU1PlatinumMod claimed top spot, closely followed by GReddy295, and iMuecke. All 3 top drivers use a pc for their gaming, which is possibly no coincidence. It appears that 60 FPS gives a significant advantage over Xbox1 users. A shame but little we can do about it.

A big shout out to ANG3LR1PPER who not only ran a great time, but managed to tune most of the cars for many of our drivers to use

Great driving everyone!

Here is a snapshot of the final standings:

Congratulations to our winner:

Winner: TDU1PlatinumMod wins a paint for her 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI GSR. A slightly modified livery of one I have used on other cars, and one originally created for her win in an earlier series.

To claim your paint, message HLR Moss to arrange it's sharing whilst you are waiting in the car to download. We don't want anyone else to grab it. They are each personalised for the winner and hopefully will provide you with a memory of the event.

For our next event we are off to Edinburgh to run a road race sprint. We hope you enjoy it!

Horizon 4 - Series 3, Event 2
S1 Class (900 Max PI)
Edinburgh City Sprint (Road Racing)
Restricted to any car in the Retro Supercars Division
Event will close at 9:00pm (UK time) on Wednesday, 2nd October.

Everyone welcome, but first timers compete in Tier 1 for their first event.
Simply post your times in this thread. But:
* Let us know if you use a wheel.
* Let us know if you share a setup that others could try, or use a setup created by another driver
We are going to offer more prizes for this event. A Prize Livery for the fastest time in each Tier, and a Prize Livery for the Tuner whose setup places highest when run by another driver.

The Leaderboard can be found here: HLC Leaderboard

I shared my RWD F40, it's not able to keep up outta corners. So I shared my BMW M1, I ran a 2:25.345.

If anyone tries it, first thanks! But I could some feedback, one way or the other. But it, I, me, can hang with Moss, (granted first laps and he'll demolish me once he tries), but I'm within a second with that car, so...there! Lol

I look to already have a time on this one (no memory of it!) in a non qualifying car. It doesn’t look like a time I’m anticipating having difficulty beating but what do you do in that scenario if I don’t beat it? Screenshots?

Looking forward to this one. Interesting mix of a few cars I know are very quick and a lot I’ve not tried at all. Will mess about with some of the ones I don’t know first and see if there is a sleeper in there.

Thanks for running week 1 (and thanks to Jonathan for knocking me out of tier 1 last minute - might have slightly more chance of doing well in tier 2 although I suspect some of the FM7 runners will be more in their element!).
