I’m happy to keep it going if people are keen. We could pretty much just work our way through the list alternating classes. Just conscious though that there’s a lot of overlap in the best cars!

I suggest Greendale Super Sprint B class. Sorry FN - you look to already have a good time there but hopefully you can go quicker. Time to put on our big boy pants as it’s probably RWD to get anywhere near the top of the leaderboard.

I'll see if I can improve!

RWD muscle cars or nothing seems to be the way here. Exhausted quite a few non-muscle options that proved to be strong in B700 Unranked. But they can't hold a candle to the 1000+ bhp old muscle rockets.
Kept the Nissan Sunny as the last stand but I doubt it can rival the top.

'74 Civic was the fastest AWD option of what I've tried so far, followed by Pulsar, Daytona, Kadett. They're all fairly close, though, so the ordering could change with different tunes. Tried a couple of FWD options but they weren't competitive.

Can you please add me, runruss, to the list? Before switching to RWD monsters I tried a favourite B700 from Online Adventure:

2:33.353 Shelby Daytona, tune by HLundh named RALLY, put me 55th as of 2020-01-12

2:31.351 Shelby Daytona, tune by HLundh named RALLY, put me 42nd as of 2020-01-13

2:30.417 Shelby Daytona, tune by "Papa Josh1591", put me 36th as of 2020-01-14

Currently right behind Bree on the leaderboard at 18th or 19th, I don't have the throttle control necessary to survive in that Rebel without traction control so I think I'll be somewhat limited with how much further I can climb. Definitely a fun challenge this week, it's a stark departure from my usual FH4 racing.

I'd set my previous time in a Rebel but I went quicker in a Civic 74, and now a Daytona. I tried the Rebel again and I won't be able to go any quicker in that, TCS or no. I also tried the Pulsar but it looks like the Daytona will be the best here for me.

I’ve had a couple of goes with the Mercury Cougar and managed 2.25.2. Tune by greddy295. Slightly surprisingly that’s the fastest Cougar time. Car should be capable of going quite a bit quicker, as I was being very cautious.

Switched to AWD and the Daytona and ran 2.25.0 using Papa Josh1591’s tune. On the basis that he has done 2.23.8, presumably with that tune, can possibly go a bit quicker.

Just wanted to say thanks for running this thread, I have become a better driver very directly as a result. Will be gone until I finish my livery - I'm working on 10 sponsor logos with all my Forza time. Being on PC with keyboard and mouse is a huge help for fine adjustments (using nomacs for overlay), opened up my eyes to this part of the game. There will be an all-Canadian sponsored team livery out in a couple weeks. The base colour and striping is shared on the McLaren and '81 Fiesta if anyone is curious. I felt like I should go all the way and make it like a true race livery.

I've tried a few different cars over the weekend - originally set my best time in a RWD Torana but didn't enjoy the drive AT ALL lol. I finally managed to make a few improvements in the Daytona using Papa Josh's tune. Finally ended up at #16 just 0.384 behind Jezza with 2:25.429. I don't know how many runs it took me to get here and think I've found my limit.

I should have paid attention to this sooner. I think I need to start participating to push myself to be a better driver. Middle of the pack and haven’t really played with tuning, but this sounds like a fun way to ease my way in. Maybe this will also force me to use more RWD cars.

Best lap so far in the Daytona using PapaJosh’s tune: 2:33:787

Managed to edge ahead of Jezza using CODCAOS' tune of the Rebel. It feels impossible to match the #1 ghost with that tune, maybe Rayne can prove me wrong? Don't know if it's a different tune or if having TC off makes that much difference. For me, TC off is much slower.

Managed to go a bit quicker than Bree, so currently our leaderboard is:

Jezza - 2.23.143 (Rebel)
Bree - 2.24.145 (Rebel)
Smoke - 2.25.429 (Daytona)
Aleriooon - 2.26.280 (Rebel)
FN - 2.28.182 (Daytona)
Rex - 2.29.216 (Daytona)
Rayne - 2.29.883 (Silvia)
Rat Catcha - 2.29.917 (66 Nova)
Squryl - 2.30.100 (Daytona)
Runruss - 2.30.530 (Daytona)
Matteo - 2.30.884 (Legacy RS)
PiratePenguin - 2.33.787 (Daytona)
M0rt - 2.37.291 (Elan)

I can just about see how it’s possible to run 2.21 in the Rebel but the guys running 2.20 and a low 2.19(!) are way beyond anything I can do.

I’ll leave this one open until the weekend and then come up with a new challenge.

Took a break for some racing after 4 time consuming logos and was inspired to tweak the BRZ some more. Does ok on this track as an AWD, .4 behind FN.

How long is a piece of string. Depends. Someone who is very skilled and also very familiar with a given course, they might set a better time on their first or second attempt than you or I could set if we sat down all week and played for hours. I haven't done many runs for my time on this one, I don't feel I would be able to improve very much, maybe half a second at most. And it's not a course I like much so I haven't tried much. Others I've put at least dozens of runs in. Some may do hundreds. It depends how dedicated and determined you are to go faster. But putting more runs in will not in itself make you go faster, if you have already reached the limits of what you can do. Like I am not much good in the high power RWD cars so there is no point me chasing Jezza's ghost hoping to keep up because I never will do.

Depends on the car but as a rule I would assume it to be quite a lot. Sometimes not that much though, it does depend. Bear in mind that not all manual cars need M+C, sometimes M is just as good if it has the race clutch or whatever it is (tuning is not my expertise, I leave that to others who know what they're doing).

I usually just do a couple as i don't race it a lot these days. I find it fun to see how i'm going in the ranks, the top racers are very good.

You will gain a lot of time using Manual or Manual Clutch compared to Auto but to be fair i started out using Auto and did so for a long time before i went to Manual.

Squryl sets some good times in an Auto.

Much the same as the answers above. I've been absent for ages from these comps so a bit rusty, and was a bit of a try hard over the weekend to get as close as I did to the leaders (meaning it was a few hours over a few sessions to get where I did). I won't be improving though; I don't enjoy the RWD monsters needed to get the top times, so no way will I be closing the gap to the guys ahead of me.

I'm playing Auto most of time it's best for normal TeamAdventures
Dont like the ShiftDown (even with elitecontroller paddles) when Car is slower then xx it shifts down to 1st and i end up in reverse/neutral
Quickly swiping over A&B Button is not proper shifting too :D
Most of my Cars are Auto in RL anyway

Loaded some time from FN and did 2tries
Was in front on some portion of track but then he was gone... +3sec

Played CustomAdventure S1 CollisionsOff and it was crazy
No way to beat these guys... my best was +5sec on well known track
Means i have to improve alot... can't be auto/manual only

My time in the Daytona was with an AWD tune (might be that all the Daytona times are AWD as well). The American classic muscle cars at the top of this course's leaderboard are all RWD, but very tricky to drive and TCS will be essential for most of us to even make them vaguely driveable.

Same Car 1x Stock with RWD 1x switched to AWD only

the number on speed goes down from 8,2 to 7,1 and PI from S1 814 to 812 maybe topspeed only

Waterhead,Sprint
AWD (STM:Off TCS:Off ABS: On) 1:53,817
RWD (STM:Off TCS:Off ABS: On) 1:55,399
RWD (STM:On TCS:On ABS: On) 1:55,082 but it's only ~1/2 sec on start

With AWD there is much more grip and way faster at curveexit

---
But count me in on next track i'll give it a try
