Great time Odessa.

All, currently we are due to finish this rivals on Wednesday and then we have the A dirt one which was then going to run until the end of the month.

What I could do is change it slightly so that this one ends this Sunday and the A dirt one the Sunday after. We could then fit one more in as a last hurrah by end of October, leaving a few days break before FH5.

What would people prefer? If the latter, I’ll find a few options and post suggestions.

Same! Especially as this could be the end of rivals for all we know, it hasn't been confirmed to be in FH5 I don't think. I won't be around for FH5 anyway so it'll be it for me regardless.

Had another try this morning and found another six tenths following Aleriooon's ghost. Next two runs I was doing better but failed at the left hander near the end (85%) where the car just wouldn't grip and turn. After nearly three minutes to get to that point, it gets old fast when that keeps happening!

The corner just before the water splash (not the bridge but the one after) is difficult for me to do consistently as well. Slow down too much and you lose too much time. Don't slow down enough and you can't make the turn. Not much margin for error.

edit - tried again and went a bit quicker. I seem to usually set a faster time on my first attempt after taking a break, and subsequent efforts are worse, on this course! Just got into the 2:47s, not bad really, I'll leave it there.

edit 2 - tried again after all and went two tenths quicker following my own ghost, behind most of the way but overtook on the final corner. I could do a bit better, maybe I will try some more tomorrow.

Tried some more today (Sunday)... can be well ahead of my own ghost midway but fall behind later. Getting the car to brake or turn is like herding cats.

...

Just edged past Aleriooon against his ghost, behind the entire way until the final few feet! 😂

You’re certainly persistent FN! I’ve not had chance to try again this week but hope to have a go at the next one 🤞

Quite a few improvements. I’ll put a final scorecard up tomorrow (just in case Aleriooon wants to set some times Canadian time).

Tried to shave more time off but only playing 2 nights a week isn't a great recipe for success. Had a 2:46.0 that I dirtied at the finish line but the best clean run I put down was 2:46.9.

Will there be rivals for H5 Jezza? That’s one thing I would be looking forward to. Sorry if you already said somewhere but I have not been very active here lately.

I’d imagine so. We will have to see what FH5 rivals look like but I’d assume there will still be demand.

I'm using Hlundh's tune. His time on this is basically a perfect run with the Punk, it's really impressive. I've been chasing it and there's almost nowhere to gain. I've cracked into the 2:17s for now, obviously we all know this track well but this has always been one of my favourites to get in online adventure. Perfect combination of speed and technical sections.

Here's a look at the S1 record if anyone's curious.

I’ve at least given this one a go today, but doubt it’s too high up the leaderboard. Went straight for the Punk but some seconds behind Aleriooon. I think this one finishes tonight? Looking forward to the final one but knowing what my work week is looking like I may not get the chance to really try it.

Edit: That S1 record was quite the watch, thanks for posting the link Aleriooon!

Very impressive, all the more for being on keyboard.

I've tried to beat my Roadster time using Hlundh's Punk tune without success.

edit - actually went a few tenths quicker but I can't drive this car very well at all.

edit 2 - and just edged past Smoke. I don't really feel in control of the car much at any point though, it just bounces everywhere, won't grip or turn like I want.

For the final Rivals of FH4, going to go with Glen Rannoch Sprint S1. Hard to find a new event at this stage and that one feels like there should be scope for improvement. Let’s end on a high.

Haven’t really had a chance to run the dirt event this week. I’ll stick with my Aston Martin time (which was very good for that car). Several seconds off the Punk though!

It certainly was a good time for that car, and for me it took a bit of beating even driving the Punk! I managed to do the same as in an earlier challenge, matched your time to the thousandth of a second, though I wasn't so sore about it as we weren't tying for a (temporary) first on the leaderboard!

Thanks for keeping this running for so long Jezza, I'd probably have dropped out of FH4 completely a while ago if these challenges weren't around. I'll do my best to give this last one a shot and bring up the rear lol

I did end up having a few runs in the Roadster and did a 2.18. Fairly certain it can do 2.17s if I’d had more time - getting the right hander at the end of the long straight and the following left hander both correct was proving difficult for me in the time available!
