1.50.060 in the Centenario. There’s two Centenarios at 1.49.7 I might just be able to catch. The two 1% times (Gray 1.49.2 and Jumpy 1.48.6!) which are the fastest Centenarios are ridiculously good though.

Was quite surprised at how good the Centenario was....not expecting to improve my Zonda time. Have got to around one second behind FN and Odessa which is way closer than I expected given I am pretty abysmal at S2.

Haven't been able to improve my times on the other 2 tracks despite trying a variety of vehicles and tunes

Tried about ten times to beat Odessa who is only fractionally ahead now. Each time I am a few lengths ahead by the final turn but I keep getting it wrong... I can do it with rewind but not when it counts, so far.

edit - did it on the next run. Helped me to stay in 4th for the final turn that time, was trying to do it in 5th before (which you can do because I did it with rewind, but still).

I believe I have now improved by seven seconds from my old time, in the same car!

"so far"... how many times have we heard that?! It'll only take a day or two I'm sure :)

Not had a try at any of these yet but I'm reading the thread as always to see progress - not too keen on S2 so wouldn't be posing any threat anyway, but hope to join in before the end of the month (and FH4) for sure.

Edit: Haha! You did it before I even posted this, two minutes not two days!

Ooof, well done, I would have to dramatically improve to get near that! Not likely. I think I will move onto the next ones.

Have set faster times on the other two courses but I think I can do better, especially the A class dirt one.

I think I’m done with the Centenario unless anyone goes faster than me. Improved to 1.49.4 and 16th overall (well 15th if we pretend the leaderboards got cleaned and the 17 second time was removed). I think I could theoretically catch the next Centenario but the effort required would be high.

Will try the Zonda over the weekend probably. Interesting everyone has been going quicker with the Centenario, as the leaderboard times definitely suggest that the Zonda should be quicker. What tune did people try for that?

Thought I’d have a go with most of the other Hypercar options. Some really nice cars to drive in the wet (Veneno and Zenvo particularly) but nothing that challenges the best options. Only had one run at each unless I made a major error so they could go quicker but not that much quicker:

Veneno - 1.52.112
Zerouno - 1.52.429
P1 - 1.52.479
Aventador 16 - 1.52.505
Zenvo - 1.52.746
Lego Senna - 1.52.863
918 - 1.53.063
La Ferrari - 1.53.530
Veyron - 1.53.797
Venom - 1.54.282
Chiron - 1.54.581
Senna - 1.54.698

Might be a better tune for the Senna out there but the combination of rain and the long power section at the end doesn’t work for the tune I use!

I'm using Rocklxd's Zonda tune. Going to have to try the Centenario, I was always under the impression that Zonda was faster but these results are intriguing. I do find the Zonda C tough to put down optimal runs with, it's fast but not particularly forgiving. Perhaps the Centenario has a higher floor but a lower ceiling.

I used GreetedDust's tune 'Easy Mode Wet' which I'm not sure quite does what it says on the tin, ie. if that's easy I'd hate to know what hard is like! The Centenario is much more forgiving. I did previously try Rocklxd's tune as well.

Had a go with the Zonda last night using my Alt account. Went 0.084 quicker than my Centenario time. It’s not as good a run though, so I’d have thought I should be able to do under 1.49 if I put some time in. I’m using SakuraMxSPD’s tune - 3rd time on the leaderboard. Felt easier to drive to me than some of the others.

I also tried the C sports card event. Only really tried the 2000GT (as it’s such a stylish car) - GreetedDust8’s tune if anyone wants to try it. RWD but a fairly easy one to drive - it’s not a powerbuild.

The top times are clearly in RWD powerbuilds, so I suspect 2.50 or so is a very good AWD time.

I did a handful runs in the Centenario but struggle in that class so left it at that. I didn’t notice that the C class event was Classic Sports cars so was busy chasing dow FN in the wrong car lol… if I get anything remotely competitive I’ll make a note of the time. Had a quick look at A class before having to go out, I think that one is going to be fun.

I tried the above suggested tunes but was no faster personally, was a couple of seconds slower at the respective events with the Zonda and 2000GT. I think the 2:52.5 I've done in the 3000 MKIII (AWD) will be hard for me to beat, it's more or less as good as I can do it. Even the AWD is pretty hard to wrestle around the corners and it also doesn't like slowing down much on the downhill braking points.

I tried a couple of RWD power builds for the 3000 as well, and even though they can go 15 seconds quicker than my time, I couldn't improve either. Even doing a clean run is beyond me and you have to slow down loads to make the car turn at all, so I couldn't beat my AWD time even allowing myself a few taps of the barriers. And that was with TCS on as well. I think one tune had something like 990hp and the other 950. Maybe there is one a bit less powerful which has more grip to make it turn better.

Oh, I also had a serious try to improve my A class dirt time, I tried the Roadster again, also the Atomic Punk and Nomad without success. As I've often found, I can't find a tune for the AP which I'm happy with and doesn't understeer too much, it just doesn't turn without slowing down loads; the other two cars don't have that problem. I tried various 'big name' meta tunes so no doubt it is me not doing it right rather than the tunes, I assume.

It’s the rivals challenge again Smoke. If you want to chase down FN in the regular C event in another car class feel free to do so!

I’ve switched to the 3000 MKIII, using yBullz’s AWD tune and improved to 2.46.533. I suspect my preference for ABS might stop me going too much faster as I’m having to be very careful to avoid locking up as it’s got a long braking distance. The 2.44 to 2.46 times seem to be a mix of AWD and RWD. Just the very top times that are all RWD.

Nice, just had a quick try and improved by 8 tenths, two places behind you. I'll have another try tomorrow, I think I've extracted most I can out of the AWD though. (From your slow acceleration it looks like you are using FWD I assume.)

I will try that other 3000 MKIII tune in the challenge. (it is yBu11z by the way, in case someone else searches by the name.)

edit - went half a second quicker with that at the first try, can probably do better. The game let me off two fairly bad taps of the barriers which was nice.

Spent 6 hours driving manual yesterday evening as we were doing wheelspin races (when the wheelspin gives a car, you run it stock and then a spin for which race type to run)...running cars stock often means either RWD or so low power that atutomatic just cripples you. Anyway, gave the C Class Classic event a go...took a few tries to get a clean lap but improved my Sprite time, followed by 2.5 seconds after switching to the MkIII (was about 2 seconds behind my Sprite time before so this car had a 5 second or improvement using manual). Think I'm like 3 tenths behind Odessa for now...least till they do a run in the MkIII anyway!!

Stil something like 6 seconds (could be more) behind Jezza...will try some of the tunes mentioned to try and find some time. A Class not sure about as it's tricky enough driving on dirt without trying to remember gear changes but will see. The S2 there is no chance....S2 is at the top end of my ability and I don't have the speed of thought to be changing gears as well. Us mere mortals have limits you know!!!

Improved by another 2.5 seconds with the tune Jezza suggested in the C class challenge. Couldn't quite beat Smoke at normal C class in the AWD Civic, but I moved up one place at least. edit - found another 0.250s in the AWD Civic to go 19th. Fastest AWD time possibly?! (ignoring the Peel Tridents)

edit - did another half second in the C class challenge today, slower behind my ghost until near the end. If I did everything to my best I could probably go 0.5-1s faster. I find getting the car to turn is the challenge, forcing myself to turn earlier than it seems like my eyes are telling me I need to, if that makes sense. Anyway only Jezza is ahead of me currently so unless someone else goes faster I will leave it there!

Only a few changes from the last update, so final results for Derwent Lakeside Hypercars rivals challenge above. Rex sneaking in with a late run and El Barto improved a few seconds despite handicapping himself with the Raesr.

The Zonda and Centenario were the class of the field here - not a surprise with a quick review of the leaderboard. Whilst the leaderboard suggests that ultimately the Zonda has an advantage, most of us preferred the Centenario.

I could get under 1.49 with a perfect run in the Zonda as my 1.49.2 has one fairly messy corner. I’m 1.4 seconds off Sakura though, presumably using the same tune (as I’m using theirs). The pace the real top guys can pull out of these S2 cars is remarkable.

So the “live” event now is the C600 Classic Sportscar “Rivals Challenge” event at Derwent Reservoir Sprint. Open until a week Wednesday for times. Already quite a few times recorded - I don’t think it’s much of a spoiler to say it looks like the 3000 MkIII is the way to go - times in that car unless stated:

Jezza - 2.46.533
FN - 2.49.231
Rex - 2.49.837
Squryl - 2.50.671
Smoke - 2.51.071
Odessa - 2.53.207 (Fairlady Z 69)
NM - 2.53.574
Aleriooon - 2.57.811 (Sprite)

The tune I used (and FN) was the AWD one by yBu11z. Given they have done 2.44.4 using it, still some room for improvement. All the times faster than that are RWD.
