I thought it might generate a little interest to make one Rivals event a weekly forum thing, with the winner the previous week picking the track, class and car type for the following week’s challenge. No prizes save for the prestige of beating your fellow posters!

Week 1: Bamburgh Circuit, S1, Super GT : Winner - Rayne SE (Ferrari 599 GTO - 49.766)

Week 2: Astmoor Heritage, A Class, Classic Racers : Winner - Rayne SE (Ferrari 166MM -59.259)

Week 3: Ambleside Village Circuit, S1 Class, Track Toys - excluding Lotus GT1 : Winner - Rayne SE (Lotus 2 Eleven)

Week 4: Waterhead Sprint A class: Winner - Rayne SE (Ferrari 166MM - 1.40.133

Week 5: Glen Rannoch Trail, S1 class, Rally Monsters - Ang3lr1pp3r (Hoonigan RS200) - 2.33.787

Due to the ongoing HLC events, I have stopped doing these weekly currently. However, the ongoing event at present is A class SUV Heroes at Greendale Foothills Scramble.

Post your times here.

I'm definitely going to run a few laps today. Unfortunately, if you've already set a time faster than a Super GT will achieve it's hard to verify the time. Maybe screenshots ?

Screenshots sound a good plan but if people just want to post without evidence that’s fine - not as though there are any prizes!

I see Rayne has set a pretty tough target in the Ferrari 599 GTO of 50.033 (60th overall and quicker than any other Super GT). Next quickest Super GT is in 128th (Vanquish) and then 193rd (SLS AMG), which may be targets to aim for.

I’ve only tried a DB11 so far and am yet to get near any of those times. I now recall that this isn’t my favourite circuit.

I've just put a few laps in, we now have
Rayne SE 49.983 Ferrari 599 GTO
MIDNYTE DUBH 50.551 M-B AMG GTR
breeminator 50.918 M-B AMG GTR
those are just the people I recognise as forum members.

My best in any S1 car from my pre-rivals spreadsheet is only 50.5, so there's probably no chance of me beating Rayne's time, though I'll give that car a try some time.

The 599 GTO was the only car so far with which I could break into the 49s.

AMG GT-R: 50.117
AMG GT-S: 50.205
Ferrari GTC4 L: 50.214
Aston Vantage '18: 50.349

Thought I’d go under the radar but well spotted breeminator, LoL! 👍🏾 (added you too by the way)

Started out around 58 secs and whittled it down using Valorster’s tune until I got to a high 51 and couldn’t improve any more. Had a second session in the early hours this morning where I tried out a couple of different tunes, times dropped quite quickly using jvvyyy’s ‘HANDLING’ tune.

I’m not sure I can get any faster but will probably give it another go tomorrow and possibly try some of the other cars if you guys are sharing your tunes for them?

I could share mines tomorrow. But they are not for everyone. 200% brake pressure, no front aero, quite oversteery.

Up to you Rayne, I already follow you in game & used your S1 Goliath tune for the McLaren 12C.

My main thing in Forza has always been painting. I can’t tune cars to save my life so really appreciate the work you guys put into it & I’m quite happy to try out different setups.

I’m currently at 51.2 but think I can shave a little more off that in the GT-R. Don’t think I could get near that 50.5 Midnight has done though - looks a near perfect lap. I’ve done very similar times in the Vantage and GT-S. Also haven’t tried the Ferrari yet so that may be quicker.

Me neither, LoL!!! Given it an embarrassing amount of laps but consistently running 2 or 3 tenths behind so I think I’m done as far as that car is concerned - although it’s a shame I’ve been nudged out of the top 100……

Ok, I’ve done a few more laps. Current top Super GT cars in the Rivals list:

Rayne SE (64th) Ferrari 599 GTO - 49.983
Beermachine66 (65th) MB AMG GTR - 50.008
Midnyte Dubh (106th) MB AMG GTR - 50.551
Jezza14 (137th) MB AMG GTR - 50.884
Dabentino (139th) Vantage 18 - 50.918
Breeminator (141st) MB AMG GTR - 50.918
Lksz6414 (210th) MB SLS AMG - 51.588
Clutchxzonex91 (220th) Vantage 18 - 51.632

I could get a bit closer to MD but don’t think I could catch him. No idea if anyone other than the four or us who’ve posted here are on this forum - although Beermachine is a very new entrant on the list (and it’s a slightly weird car choice otherwise).

Rewind constantly not working in Rivals is beyond annoying.

Enjoyed the challenge guys 👍🏾

Rayne, I tried the 599 GTO & I think if I’d run more laps I’d probably PB with it. Definitely requires more technique on my part... or if I’m not up to it I might have to try a couple of assists 😉 I’ll definitely try it out on other S1 Rivals though.

Yes, it was good fun.
Yesterday I improved my GTO time with the GTR to a 49.933.
But I had the impression the Ferrari can do more. After another 25 laps I dropped the time to 49.766 but now it feels like I hit my limit.

Do you want to choose again as winner Rayne? New rule though that winners can only pick two weeks in a row. Give someone else a chance when/if you win again!

Nah, I'm fine with someone else having a go this time. Makes it more interesting for me as well if I have to adjust to new ideas :)

Ok - Midnyte feel free to choose a track, car type if you get a chance. If not, I’ll suggest something tonight.

I was afraid you were gonna say that! 😉
Ok, apologies in advance if this turns out to be a bit naff - like I said before I’m only a part timer, LoL! Did a bit of research and found a Track/Class which I haven’t set a time at yet and where I couldn’t see any of the previous listed Gamertags in the top 100.

There are 33 individual vehicles making up the top 100 featuring something like 7 or 8 car Types - the most popular being Retro Sportscars, Classic Muscle & Classic Racers with 6 each. Had a quick 3 lapper vs AI in a stock Car from each Type and decided on:

*Astmoor Heritage Circuit*

*A Class*

*Classic Racers*

What do you think???

Had another early morning session & surprised to find myself sneaking into the top 100 with a time of 1:01.728 which is a full 5 secs down from my first outlap. Using the ‘68 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, flitting between 3 different tunes but DJS’ is the quickest so far. I hardly ever run cars without a design on them & even more rare for it not to be mine but…… got to hand it to PTG FOX for this one!

Nicely done. Having now checked, there are some fairly top notch A class cars in this category. I’ve currently only tried the Ferrari 250s (which aren’t top tier in my view) and haven’t yet broken 1.03 but I’m fairly confident I’ll beat that in some of the other cars.

TUS Barcode Ferrari 166MM 0:58.794
breeminator Alfa Romeo 33S 1:00.477
Rayne SE Ferrari 166MM 1:00.661
MIDNYTE DUBH Alfa Romeo 33S 1:01.728

I used my own RWD tune of the Alfa, and had TCS on. I'm sure Rayne will have no trouble beating my time, my early lead only means that he hasn't tried very hard yet ;-)

Rayne appears to have done his time with TCS off, in what I assume was a RWD Ferrari? I don’t think I’m too bad at driving RWD but I can barely keep that thing straight!

Yo! What's up old friends and folks I don't know yet! Lol I have really missed running rivals stuff with you guys. I was so disappointed that they were not in this, I couldn't get into Moss's FM7 HLCs anymore. But man, I'm happy rivals are finally back!

I'm also seeing that I'm still alot slower than you guys, so that hasn't changed, lol. As of now I'm holding that "Gatekeeper" spot in my Cortina. I'll post the time in a bit, I'm watching Fast and Furious 5 now, lol! Cortina is shared.

While I'm here, if I may, check out my storefront if you'd like. I've got alot of tunes and paint jobs. Some.vinyls too. If it wasn't for the, in my opinion, stupid "popularity" starcard levels for creator content I wouldn't be throwing that out there. Check it out, let me know what ya think! I'm downloading and liking alot of you folks too!

His throttle control of tricky RWD builds is far beyond what most us can do. Having said that, it's not a huge problem in A class. I can drive my RWD 33S without TCS, and did a time that was only about 0.3 slower, but TCS allowed me to hit the throttle hard a bit earlier without getting that bit of a slide that loses you so much time. So it was the difference between being a touch slower than Rayne vs a touch faster. His lap looked to have significant flaws, though, I'm sure he can go a fair bit faster than that.
