what is the point of playing this game? in multiplayer i'm never gonna win a race so there's no point in bothering with it, and the single player part with all the cars and tracks it still manages to be boring and pointless...like what am i suppose to do after i finish the career mode?

if there was co op racing and dirt racing the game would be a bit more interesting but as it is i can't find much reasons to play this game... i think i'm gonna uninstall it and stick with horizon from now on

Isn't Horizon technically the same? Win a race and then what?

take away the co-op racing, dirt racing, the weekly new race events, the free roam, and what you got left is something that resembles motorsport 7... a dull boring game with nothing much to do.

You don't know what is a fun. Take your favorite car and do 100 laps race. If that's not fun then nothing is :D Motorsport is for people who like cars and driving.

The point is to race. Some have the need. Some live to race.

You can win, but you must race to win.

Race, rinse, repeat. Race, rinse, repeat. Get up tomorrow. Race, rinse, repeat.

I am not trying to be pedantic, I am just being captain obvious.

You do realise this is a track racing game right? You have:
Forzathon
Circuit Races
Multiclass Races
Rivals
Autocross
Multiplayer Hoppers
Leagues
Ghost Leagues
Drag Racing
Experimental Drag
Endurance Races
Timed Races
Rival Bounty Hunters (like the new Indycar one)
Tag Virus
Keep the it
Tonnes of Drift stuff
Private Multiplayer
Career

This isn't including what you can do without racing & I probably missed some event stuff there. No offense but what did you expect when picking up a track racing game compared to Horizon? It's just a bad comparison.

I'm not that good, won several league races. Can't get better 8f you don't work at, maybe remove some assists, get yourself out of your comfort zone. Try to improve.

If that doesn't entice you, then a competitive racing game isn't for you. There's lots of snipers in fps multiplayer because they can't manipulate the controller well enough to defeat anyone otherwise, while fun for awhile, gets old fast.

Doesn't sound like Motorsport is your type of thing. I'm a huge car guy, for me driving is first and racing is close second. That's what makes FM7 so much fun for me, being able to experience so many different cars.

If winning every single race is the only thing that lets you have fun then you just have to practice to get better, don't sit there and say you can't win so you won't play. If you find circuit racing boring then this definitely isn't your kind of game.

yeah this motorsport stuff is not for me...besides the fact that i find the game boring i'm not even good at it... u have to know how to take corners at a perfect angle with perfect speed and perfect control of the car and i'm not able to do any of these things , and this just takes the online part of the game out of the ecuation cause i'm not able to compete with other players... that means all i have left is the single player part which is not much... basically for me this game is not worth playing

Don't let a lack of skill hold you back from playing. This can always be improved through practicing. There are a ton of helpful tips on the internet on how to get better. Here are a couple good ones from Raceboy77.

Cornering Tips
Braking Tips

You can always watch replays from the top players on the leaderboards as well. If you still find it boring after getting better then yeah, maybe stick with the Horizon games.

To be very frank, it is a circuit-racing, so what can you expect - bumper cars or tag the leader? The circuit racing part it does really well and that's what the core game represents. Is this your first FM game?

Also, I don't think it's fair to compare it to FH.

For me, if I'm racing online, the goal is to not be last. With my old sore hands and slow reflexes competing against kids who grew up with a game controller in their crib is crazy. I only compete against myself. If I can do better than I did in a previous race, that's a victory.

Also, with both games, 75% of the fun of the game lies in the car building, painting, and collecting.

Just make the game fun on your own level.

Money, Cars, Driver Gears......
Everything comes too easy in FM7
Even if I raced like garbage I'd still get plenty of CRs and cars
A more challenging and goal-oriented Career Mode is a must, IMHO
And...mayby we really don't need so many cars.....

Progression in Forza has always been way too easy which is a shame.

Well, if they made progression challenging then people would complain left and right about not enough content being unlocked from the get-go. I think it's very difficult to please everyone when it comes to career play in a racing game, which is understandable;

90% of the time I'm not even doing career - just upgrading and tuning cars, hotlapping, racing the AI every now and then, Rivals, etc.

Progression in forza cant really be done any other way because of the type of game it is. Career mode is only one of many different facets of the game. Many people don't want to play single player at all and would rather just play multiplayer only. Then theres players who just want to tune cars and then others who just want to paint. If progression was slowed down many of these people wouldnt play. Now some will say who cares its a racing game and i do look it that way also, it simply wouldnt be in turn 10s interest to do so.

Completely disagree.

Progression can be done better. This is how you can obtain money in Forza Motorsport 7 currently:

Action House
Mod Cards
Level Up Rewards
Weekly Forza Rewards
Tunes
Paints
Racing

There's probably a few more that I've forget here as well. The thing is you have so many avenues in the game for making money that it becomes to easy. I have over 10 million in the bank, every car I want & I hardly ever race. Most of my time is spent in Test Drive mode.

Forza simply gives you too much money for racing. The best economy we ever had was Forza Motorsport 5 pre-economy patch where a race gave you 5k & no mod cards or auction house existed. Upgrading & buying new cars felt so much more rewarding back then because you had to work for it & had to earn it. If you wanted to drive the cars yourself without purchasing them, you could always rent them. Level up rewards either need to be reduced or levelling up just needs to be much harder & take far longer so that the big level up rewards are harder to obtain. The amount of money you recieved per race also needs reducing substantially.

The starter car you choose in Forza games is ridiculous. Forza Horizon 1 had the best starter car progression of any game & Turn 10 need to go back & see why people liked that career mode so much, the progression was a big part of why.

Forza Motorsport 8 needs to start you off in an E or D class car. Something like 80's hatchbacks, something slow. The fact I could have a McLaren F1 as a starter car in FM7 was genuinely ridiculous.

Totally agree.
What I love about FH1 is what I feel confused about FH4 (and FM7) - the progression
I still remember when I was slowly building my fame in FH1, a famous NPC driver invites me for a 1 on 1 race. Then we raced just before the dawn, and finished the race minutes before sunrise . Though I knew it's just part of the story script, the atmosphere was just amazing, that is one of the best moments in my racing game experience.
In FH7 and FH4 there are jus too many options, the Playlist system in particular. The mood is just not there. The sense of immersion as a driver fighting to compete is just not there.
If T10 would consider redesign the career mode in FM8, maybe they could consider integrating the Rival system and Drivatar system. Don't make FM8 another "Car **** " title again. One should practice his ***. off to be able to race in cars like P1 or 918.

Completely agree. I think a big reason I liked Forza Horizon 1 as well was pushing of things like cut scenes & progression. Nothing felt unnecessary in Horizon 1. Take cut scenes for example. Hardly any in FH1 because it didn't need it, the progression & story complimented it so well it just wasn't necessary.

I like the idea of Forzathon, Playlists & Seasons. The concept is there, the implementation is not. The reason Forza Motorsport 3 had the best career mode for a Motorsport games was because it had a structured calendar system & the normal one we see today. I hope the FM8 career mode takes inspiration from there.

Even with those things FH4 is more boring with even less to do. I wish FM8 was releasing this year just so I can wash the FH4 taste out of my mouth.
