With the latest update, I noticed a huge difference, the wheel is more responsive when turning and the center dead zone is nearly gone.

When you boot the game don’t use the Xbox controller to launch the game, use the wheel. If the wheel starts spazzing out, unplug it from the usb or power source and quit out of the game with the pad. Turn off the controller before Plugging the wheel back into the usb or power source and relaunch Forza.

These are my current settings on the XBOX ONE. I haven’t tuned it perfectly but it’s playable.

Steering axis dead zone inside.......0
Steering axis dead zone outside.....100
Steering linearity.....70

Vibration scale ....0
Force feedback scale...30
Center spring scale .....0
Wheel damper scale ....0
Force feedback understeer....0
Force feedback minimum force...15
Wheel rotation angle...300

Still horrible... updated, took the focus for a ride and I thought that everything was alright. Then I chose the 2018 mustang Gt and it’s a horrible experience.... tried every setting! Brake still sucks too! Gonna cancel my gamepass and go back to FH3!

Still unplayable after the update, especially the rally races constantly still spinning out and there is still the huge deadzone in the centre of the steering.

But the grinding seems to be better with the clutch!?

This absurd!

“Update” can’t start the game without my G920 (xbox) going crazy!? Could you not spend five minutes plugging one in and checking before you release it to millions of people? Just a thought. I’m going back to previous titles until you chooose to serve some of your most loyal customers. Certainly not buying into anything. One of many unsupported wheel owners.

Gonna cancel my gamepass aswell. Using a csl elite wheel spins out without control. Just posting because this is the most active thread on the subject. And the problem is not only for logitech wheels. We have reported the same undrivability on thurstmaster and fanatec wheels.

The braking needs to be adjusted. I was playing at my friend's house, and he doesn't have a modded brake pedal like mine, I felt like it was going to bend the brake pedal. On my modded brake pedal, I feel like I'm only getting 40% of the braking. On my friends, it feels like I'm getting 15%-20%. I still spin out, but I don't think it's because of the steering. I think if Turn10 adjusted the braking, I would be able to correct the vehicle when I spin out.

When I try to boot the game with the G920, it spazzes out. I've launched the game with the controller, and when it brings me to the home page, I turn off the controller and plug in the G920.

Has anyone had the issue where it feels like your settings change overnight? Like I got the steering feeling good then the next day I get on and it felt like all of it changed it went back to me not being able to do anything again. I eventually was able to fix it somewhat but still nowhere how it felt.

Someone posted some wheel settings can't remember who but the game became playable. Since the update it's now unplayable again but they deny there is an issue. I have cancelled my game pass until this is resolved. I think it might be time for a ps4 as my patience is running very thin with Microsoft

I posted this issue on Forza Support & I hope Playground are aware & are working on a patch.
i would encourage others to submit their issue on Forza Support as there's no mention of G920 issue yet in notes:

https://support.forzamot...36474-Known-Wheel-Issues

I have reported the issue. Everyone having this issue needs to report it to get it resolved

I submitted a ticket a couple of days ago. The game is unplayable for me. I'm hoping to enjoy countless hours of FH4 soon. We just need a patch to fix wheel support...

They released an update yesterday that included fixes for the wheels. I just tested it out on a G920, and the game was plenty playable with it. Not only that, but there was a great amount of feeling there as well. It really pays to make sure to check out the threads at the top of this tech support forum.

https://forums.forzamoto...d-October-1st--2018.aspx

Here are the settings I found that work very well for me.

Edit: Also, the gear grinding issue; is a long standing problem in Forza games. It happens only when using the in car views. If you use the outside views, such as bonnet or bumper cams; the gear grinding doesn't happen at all.

Thank you this helped immensely good sir

I've tried various settings but still have a total 90 degree deadzone in steering input even when set the deadzone is set to zero. The effective deadzone when set to Zero seems to be about a total of 90 degrees, 45 degrees in each direction for no turn.

This effect is quite clear in both the in car view and telemetry (no turn input is registered until you go about 45 degrees in either direction with the wheel).

When you want a lower total steering angle ("STEERING SENSITIVITY"), of say 270 degrees this creates a deadzone of 33% of total steering even when deadzone in advanced settings is set to 0.

Note: I tried to submit the above as a bug, but ZenDesk email confirmation failed so I can't submit a bug to Forza since the reply from forzasupport.zendesk.com that requires verification on email ends up returning a server error.

Hi guys. I was having the same problem with my thrustmaster wheel. It was unplayable. I plugged into the usb on the back of my console and this fixed the problem. I hope this helps someone.

I actually saw a post with a Video showing the same problem with Thrustmaster after posting my post (Maybe yours?). It is better now: I no longer have any noticable deadzone with 0 setting. It was one or more of:

1. Plugging into the back usb of my Xbox one S
2. Re-starting Forza with only the wheel and no controller plugged in

Note: Forza doesn't seem to have a quit button, and also doesn't show up in the mini-icon running apps either. But if I click the "more" button on the Large icon on the xbox Home screen then I can quit. You probably want to make sure you are not doing anything savey when quitting.

If its not in the patch notes, then it has not been fixed. Its not going to magically go away if its not in the patch. I tested both the back usb port and latest version today and its the same.

And as said before in this thread and written in the wheel guide NO amount of tweaking the wheel settings will change how the car handles, only how the wheel feels in your hands.

Game is still on hold for me

No full clutch input with G920 same for throttle. Outside deadzone dialed back to 20 and still grinding.

It was in the Demo aswell.

Off to a good start here.

I'm having the same problem, any adjustment to the peddles regarding deadzones and all aren't actually working, I'm not the only one seeing this right? I mean when I push the throttle full it only sees 97% no matter how much I bring down the outside dead zone.

1. Yes there is a grinding problem, The Staff ack'd the issue and is investigating apparently: https://forums.forzamoto...ng-Noise-w-clutch.aspx?= . For now I'm just doing Manual without the clutch (unless you like an outside view, and then you don't hear it)

2. I think you may have outside deadzone backwards. According to https://support.forzamot...7-Wheel-Setup-and-Tuning "This sets the size of the outer deadzone for clutch. The larger this deadzone, the less the clutch will need to be pressed for the car’s clutch to be fully disengaged." That being said, it doesn't seem to do anything for me regardless. I can only get the clutch to 97% or so engagement when fully pressing it. I can get the throttle and break to 100%, but for my break I removed that rubber block a while back for Project Cars. I removed it because even if the break deadzones do work, that rubber block really cuts into your total pedal range in real space.

So I have plugged in my wheel today to see how it would be after the update.

Results: Still a complete train wreck.

What a shame, this is the best FH so far, and it is absolutely unplayable for me, I will log out from here, uninstall the game, and wait for FH5. It's been a month since 4 has been released, screw that.

Let us know what forza says about it. Today bought logitech g920 wheel, fh4, gear shifter and [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]. That steering deadline. Turn wheel for 45 degrees and then just wheels start to turn :( thought that the wheel is broken, but just tried it on fh3 and it works perfect as soon as u turn wheel, wheels are turning, no deadline at all, hope they will fix it in fh4 .

is the issue ONLY with the g920? I have a DFGT and the game plays perfect. Though when setting the steering setting to "simulation" the cars handle like **** . Normal works perfect.
