i did both steps just to be sure before restarting my pc
it seems to be a teredo issue.

it still needs to be fully fixed by Devs

Advice do not spend long times looking thru Car sections or you might lose connection to server.

Enjoy

Same issue here, sadly the above steps did not fix it for me, nor anything I found on reddit about FH3 or other XBOX and Teredo related issues...

Anyone here using an AVM FritzBox! as a router?

Because I am, and the whole Teredo-Protocol is blocked by those Routers by default. You first have to disable the Teredo-Filter and then you are good to go.

It's working fine now on my PC.
I just dont have NAT Type "OPEN", I have "MEDIUM" but I can join others with no problem and also can play Forzathon now.

Also, Microsoft built in a "Fix it" button for that whole Teredo **** stuff ... It's on "System Settings", "Gaming", "Xbox Network". There you can also perform the same check as in the Xbox app, and you can try to use the "fix it" button, if some settings are messed up.

But the most important thing for me was: Router blocking Teredo by default. No wonder it wasnt working.

I fixed it.

Go to the Xbox App. Then go to settings. Then go to network settings. Check your connection. If it says blocked, then do this

1. Click Start , type services.msc in Start search box and hit Enter.
2. Right-click the Peer Networking Grouping service and select Properties .
3. Check if the service is started; if not, right-click and select Start .
4. You may also set the Startup type to Automatic under Properties .

Xbox live gave me problems from the beginning.
Forward these ports that has always helped me with NAT and Teredo problems.
Check whether you have a Teredo filter on your router and whether it is switched off. My FRITZ!Box has one. (7360 located - Internet - Filters - Lists)

XboxLive TCP 80
XboxLive TCP 3074
XboxLive TCP 53
XboxLive UDP 53
XboxLive UDP 88
XboxLive UDP 500
XboxLive UDP 3074
XboxLive UDP 3544

I hope it helps.

If you use a FritzBox! you have to disable the Teredo Filter first.

I also tried Exposed Host and UPnP, everything didnt help until I switched the Teredo-Filter off.

None of the fixes stated previously works for me. But my Xbox App is showing my NAT Type and Server Connectivity as Open and Connected respectively.

cmd also shows nothing wrong:

Type : enterpriseclient (Group Policy)
Server Name : win1711.ipv6.microsoft.com.
Client Refresh Interval : 20 seconds
Client Port : unspecified (Group Policy)
State : qualified
Client Type : teredo host-specific relay
Network : managed
NAT : cone
NAT Special Behaviour : UPNP: Yes, PortPreserving: Yes

Even went as far as to port forward and I still can't go online. It's almost as if there is an invisible barrier stopping me from doing so.

I've tried every single thing in this forum post and everything else i found online, including the solutions used on forza horizon 3. I even tried using mobile data.... nothing works. I contacted microsoft and they have no clue too. I noticed the error shows that it keeps trying to connect to Europe and US regions. is there no Asia region? Or will online start working only from October 2nd for me? :( Horizon 3 worked with no issues. I just want to play with my friend and thought we could over the weekend... forza, please help. I paid a lot of money for this and have been playing since forza motorsport 3 that included the delorean...

I can go online and find sessions with my phone hotspot network but not my home network. So weird. And when I use my home broadband network the NAT type says open but with my phone's it says Strict, but it works with my phone. What is going on?

Same here. Only my phone's mobile hotspot allows me to go online, and I'd rather not use my data to do that.

UPDATE I found something interesting that you guys who had their online working with mobile hotspot should check out:

Even though I could obtain Teredo IP in xbox live app and everything no problems.

I was thinking to myself, it's either my PC or my Router/ISP

I decided to Tether my mobile phone as a hotspot to rule out if it was ISP/Router or a PC issue. Sure as anything Online worked and I could join online sessions and everything. (connected to my hotspot mobile phone)

I then thought ok cool, at least I can play online but I'll have to spend $50+ more per month on data packs.

Then I decided to turn off my mobile hotspot and just try join an online game connected to my router and guess what!? IT NOW WORKS. I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS MAGIC. can anyone else explain why???????????????????

not sure if this will work for you but might be worth a shot. literally cannot understand it.
I believe it to be an issue with Forza - once I made a sucsessful online connection the game fixed itself. Im thinking a ini or config file somewere made a change? it CANT be router/ISP if its now working all of a sudden without changing anything.

The only thing I did was connect via a mobile hotspot and now it works regardless of using mobile hotspot or my ISP/Router.

Im so happy as I was literally at witts end trying to resolve this problem. - Turn 10 please address this issue or at least give us update to were your support team is at regarding the problem.

I tried the same thing myself, along with every other solution. Nothing works. The only time I was able to connect to Horizon Online was using hotspot tethering from my phone and voila, I managed to connect with no hiccups. But then going back to ethernet/my router, it failed to connect. Please, let there be a fix or an update. I don't want to burn up all of my data playing this beautiful game.
