Ralph Fulton already said the game will start in autumn. To make it winter on x-mas they would need to start the game in winter. So, it look like there will be autumn for x-mas. Big disappointment on the Horizon.

Could be that those that start on the 28th get Autumn for a few days then it goes to Winter on the 1st. That would land a week of Winter for Christmas and still start with Autumn, assuming of course the season shift is Sunday/Monday.

Is it possible to disable or manually force the season to change from one to another? (In offline play) Season has changed to Winter and quite frankly I absolutely hate it. I have driven the heck of out Horizon 3, love driving fast in super cars which isn't possible in snow. After about 10 mins I just shut the game off.

Turn 10, if it isn't possible to disable certain Seasons in offline free play, I would like to strongly ask/recommend this be added as a feature. As a feature it sounds like a neat idea to have changing of seasons but forcing people to drive in environments they don't like is going to be a disincentive to play the game for some of the player base like myself.

If your current season is winter, I think you are still in the prologue (which change season based on your influence points).
I think the only solution is that you take a smaller/less powerful car for winter (like focus or TTS, maybe even a lamborghini huracan or audi R8). Remember to install winter tires on your car to make it easier.

Apparently the faster way to gain influence is to do the stuntman story chapter, so I would say if you want to move to spring faster, finish this story.

Yes, you can, but what about if you want to just roam around?

I’ve been playing for a couple of days now, and I think the developers have outdone themselves this time around - I love it. But, I’m just not that interested in driving in the snow, I much prefer the other three seasons.

I’ve said this before, but I really wish there was a way of manually changing the seasons for offline play. I don’t get much time to play, so for essentially one week in four the game just won’t interest me. I just don’t understand why the choice is taken away from us in a game that otherwise, focuses on what the player wants to do.

As I have to suffer bad weather 10 of 12 months in real life I really don't like FH4 forced seasons.. I also play solo so no need for syncronized season to please other players.
So devs, please make this bad weather stuff go away, I only want to drive when it is nice dry summer weather, none of this raining and snowing "eyecandy"
And also as AI drivers cheat more in bad weather, please let me decide in what weather I can drive. I know winter & snow is exotic for some of the players, for me it is not and it is the most unpleasent weather to use in driving game.

With this weeks new season comes a serious frustration, the game FORCES you to play in the rain (please don't say I can adjust the blueprints, because if I adjust it I don't get completion credit) 95% of the cars in this game can't corner in the rain or snow, so essentially 2 weeks out of a month IRL time, I will be forced to play in the rain/snow, and to top it off, the computers in the rain/snow take corners going 95 MPH while I am forced to slow down to almost 30 MPH to do the same corner. The drivitars are driving the exact same as in summer, they don't suffer the weather effects like me. Overall, I was really enjoying the game but forcing seasons down my throat then racing against AI that the weather CLEARLY doesn't effect is extremely frustrating... Is anyone investigating this?

Woke up this morning to The Fall season. Didn't really even notice it first until I left my house in my Ford Escort RS. Dropped the clutch rip that thing down the road, ebrake into some Christmas tree looking section. Doing some donuts, drifts and general wreckage for fun to get myself warmed up.

Then I noticed the sky got really dark, it started to lightning and rain, and what appeared to be hail started to fall. This really is pretty cool.

Fast travel to the long drag strip on the freeway, because I'm lazy and have it a hundred percent free unlocked at this point. Popped in my Agera RS maxed to the gills and did some drag runs as light rain came down and wet the blacktop. I could feel the difference in traction going around the curves compared to last night when I did the same runs in the dry.

I think they out did themselves with this. Looking forward to the week of chilly dark weather before the snow hits. Hopefully I'll have the Warthog by then. That thing is a monster in the snow.

I never understood why you are not able to change the season to the one you want . It makes sense that if you play online you are stuck in the season of that week but if you are playing offline why don't we have a choice. I know that when the winter season comes along I would rather not play because it makes some cars much harder to drive and in my opinion I don't like how it looks. If I could always play in the summer and spring I would. Come on turn 10 i am sure nobody is happy that seasons are locked to specific weeks.

When playing solo let us change seasons whenever we want. Its not gonna be fun in the long run being forced to play on whatever season the server forces us to when we dont want to play online. How was this feature even missed?

Winter isn't cold enough. When I went into the menu while driving around in the snow, it said it was sunny and 42°F. That's not frozen-lake-that's-safe-to-drive-on-and-snow-sticking-around weather.

Why is only one lake frozen?
And it’s the big one too! It should be the small shallow ones that freeze first. Just saying...

If you mean the one in the south west corner of the map it's mean't to be a barrier between the playable game space and the back ground, it's more interesting than just having a stone wall all the way round the map.

Loving it, such amazing graphics on the X in visuals mode. Looks better than FH3. Still exploring though, and on a side note, the sheep seemed a little out of place in the snow lol

No I mean NONE of the other bodies of water are frozen in winter, besides Derwent Water.

Personally I love the season change aspect, I practically do not play team adventure because it breaks immersion for me when it switches seasons lol. I don't know which one is my favorite yet ,so much to do I loved Autumn so much but Winter is sick!

After the first intro, where you play part of a race in each season, you have the "prologue" where you are qualifying to be in horizon, you get a taste of each season and unlock parts of the game as you progress. then you get into the full game after you've qualified in each season.

Hello,

I have tested several weather settings. In the winter. But all snowy weather looks the same, whether it's light snow, snowstorm or blizzard. Not like in FH3 where you can not see the hand in front of your eyes. So the snow weather effects are bad.

Is that just me?
