For some reason, Turn 10 picks the inferior American versions of certain cars. This is one such example. BMW diehards all crave for European models since those are usually less restricted in power than American ones. Exceptions include cars available with a manual transmission only in America, not in Europe.
I would personally enjoy it if they replaced the 2008 M3 with a newer model (2011-12?) fitted with the DCT gearbox, as the shorter gearing more than offsets the added weight. But the 6-speed is also a great transmission.
For American players, the American Z4 M could be better because the dials are in mph and you can always compensate the deficit in power with beefier engine upgrades. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the world measures speed in kph, so this choice is not without its drawbacks.
May the forced induction be with you.
