Some pretty old info on here re: leagues and hoppers etc.... but I need to know: why are league hoppers restricted to four hour windows with four hours in between? Feels like I’m being throttled down from playing the way I want to play. I like particular leagues. I want to race in that league whenever I please. Why are you slowing me down? Open up time restrictions on league racing! Now, please!

THE EFR ghost lobby keeps putting VIR every single time we vote. How is this random? Came up the last 6 or 7 times in a row for voting. Make that 8 for both choices this time. Now 9 both choices again. 10 times both choices yet again.

Thank you

Updated Track Limits
We lead off this month with a major change to track limits in Forza Motorsport 7. The team at Turn 10 have redefined track limits for all track ribbons in the game. That means hand-drawing all of those limits – from the smallest circuits like Rio Mini Circuit, to the largest tracks in the game like the Nürburgring Full Circuit. In fact, in the case of the ‘Ring, that means hand-placing more than 13,000 pins to create the splines that define both the inner and outer track limits on that famously gargantuan course.

Updating track limits is a first step towards bringing our updated Forza Race Regulations feature into the game; drivers can now learn and acclimate to the new limits before regulations arrive in the game. While a good number of circuits will feel similar with the new track limits, some tracks have undergone dramatic changes. Specific examples include the second chicane on Monza, as well as the first and last turns at Sebring, both of which will play differently than they have in the past. The basic rule of thumb? Three tires over the line is considered “dirty,” whether you’re racing or drifting.

Players who want an obvious clue as to where the new limits can take advantage of the new illuminated track lines feature, which we’ve implemented to help both new and experienced players understand the new track limits. These illuminated lines are can be toggled on or off in the HUD option and are color-coded for maximum comprehension (blue for safe, yellow for warning, and red when your car is considered over the edge or “dirty”). Players have the option to choose between two illuminated line styles: “ribbon” (a solid line) or “markers” (a dotted line), as well as the option to have the lines illuminated at all times or only when the car gets close to a limit line.

Time Attack
One of the most requested features from the Forza community arrives in Forza 7 this month: Time Attack! The ultimate test for hot-lappers, Time Attack mode in Forza Motorsport 7 brings with it a leaderboard for every track ribbon in the game, across every car class, every weather option and time of day. One important note about weather in Time Attack: Although Forza Motorsport 7 features dynamic weather, Time Attack leaderboards weather conditions are static per event. This is to ensure that every player who runs a lap in that event has a consistent experience.

Time Attack also brings with it a new feature in Rivals events: Training Ghost. This feature came about as a direct result of our conversation with ForzaRC drivers, who love to train against certain ghost cars over multiple laps. The Training Ghost feature lets you set a Rival before you enter an event. While participating in the Rivals event, your Training Ghost will still be present even if you beat its time. Training Ghost is a great tool for players who want to consistently race against the opponent of their choice over numerous laps.

One other important note related to Updated Track Limits and Time Attack Mode: With the launch of the August update, we’ll be wiping all Rivals leaderboards beginning on August 8.

Drift Scoring
In tandem with the drift upgrades and tuning, we’ve also introduced an updated drift scoring system into Forza 7. With the August Update, drift scoring will be based on three criteria – Speed, Angle, and Line. All three of these elements will be displayed on screen with a real-time scoring information, along with your traditional drift score total. Importantly, light wall taps won’t drop your drift score and, as with the updated track limits in traditional races, getting two wheels out of the track limits (such as both rear wheels, for example) won’t drop your drift score.

Another important change: Drift zones have been completely removed from tracks, which means you can now manji drift down straights and earn drift score, and you can also completely link a track together with a single drift.

Additional Changes
In addition to the big changes listed above, we’ve got additional changes that we think our community will love. For example, players can now save and load race configurations in Free Play, Split Screen, and Private Multiplayer lobbies. Once a lobby is set up, players will have the option to save those settings and give it a unique name. Players can save up to 300 named Race Setup files and, if you join an Private Multiplayer lobby, and like the options that the host has configured, players can save a copy to keep for themselves.

The Open Test Track Airfield is now available in single player! Players can find this favorite test ground in the Free Play/Test Drive game type – no laps, no time limit, just hooning to their hearts’ content.

We’ve made lots of improvements in multiplayer, including introducing Spectate Ticker options for new multiplayer race types. In addition, players will now randomly shuffle between classes after each race when racing in the ABCS Multiplayer hopper.

Experimental Drag
Back in May, we showed off an early version of a new form of drag racing in Forza Motorsport 7. Drag racing has been around for years in Forza games and, over the years, we’ve heard loud and clear from the Forza drag racing community about what they liked and what they didn’t like about their favorite mode in Forza 7. With this month’s update, we’re introducing the first step in our evolution of drag racing in Forza. Known as “Experimental Drag”, this new mode can be accessed in the Free Play menu and gives players a fun, authentic and, best of all, streamlined drag racing experience.

Just a race or two is all you’ll need to easily spot the differences between Forza 7’s traditional drag racing and “Experimental Drag.” We’ve given players more control at the start of a race than ever. Now you can easily manage your engine RPM with free-rev throttle control at the starting line, keeping you deep in the RPM band when the green light drops. We’ve also got a new Christmas Tree light system that counts down the start (and, yes, you can jump the start and even be DQ’d!) We’ve also illuminated the finish line so players can clearly see the end of the quarter mile.

As fun as the quarter-mile races are, it’s arguably what happens in between Experimental Drag events that is the real benefit to players. First and foremost: No loading! Once a race ends, players can hit a button and immediately be back at the start line, ready for another 3-2-1 Go! In addition, player rewards will be saved between each race and collected at the end of a players’ sessions, which means fewer menus to wait through. We’ve also loaded up the mode with statistics for players to enjoy, including goodies like Total Time, Reaction Time, 60-foot Time, Trap Speed; the kinds of stats that drag racers love. It’s all part of our goal of making drag racing faster, more efficient, and more fun. In other words, just like on the track, we’re making every second count.

As the name implies, “Experimental Drag” is a first step in re-imagining the Forza drag racing experience. As it stands today, it’s a single-player-only experience on one quarter-mile track. The obvious questions abound: When will you add more tracks? When can we play this in multiplayer? We’d love to hear more of your feedback on Experimental Drag so head over to our dedicated Experimental Drag Feedback thread on the Forza Forums, and let us hear what you have to say. What do you like? What would you like to see changed? How would you like to see drag racing evolve in Forza Motorsport in the future? The conversation is open and the team is eager for your feedback!

How many times have you wanted to load up a track in Forza Motorsport 7, grab your friends, and just hang out, with no time limits to worry about? Now you can with Meetups. This new feature lets players load into either a pre-existing Track Day hopper, or create their own private hopper, and invite friends in for some on-track fun.

In a Meetup lobby, players are free to drop in and drop out as they please; they can change cars in the lobby as many times as they like then load back into the track. Players can also tune their cars on the track (or in the pre-race lobby), while others are drifting, racing, or just hanging out. In short, players are free to do what they like, when they like, on any track in the game.

In public meetup lobbies, any player can initiate a vote to change the track by pausing the game and bringing up the list of tracks. Once a track has received 50 percent of the votes, the new track will be loaded in. In private Meetups, the host controls everything. When the host changes tracks, the event will end after a brief timer countdown, then all players will be pulled back to the lobby until the next track loads.

One other benefit of Meetups: the Test Track Airfield Tag track is now available to play in multiplayer modes other than Tag for the first time in Forza 7. This track is a fantastic location for drivers to hoon around, and for drifters to let loose. In fact, this track locale is different from other Forza tracks in that it has no race line – which means that drift points are judged solely on angle and speed (and not whether they are adhering to a race line).

September Events
Along with the Nissan Skyline Turbo Super Silhouette, coming to all Forza 7 players for free, we’ve got a great month of fun coming to players. Here’s a look at some of the September highlights:

Hot-lappers will have plenty of fun in Forza Motorsport 7 in the month of September. First up, our current Turn 10 Bounty Hunter event is still going strong. Do your best to beat the times of Turn 10 drivers (GT: SpiderGoggles, spartyyon, Euro Nation, and Mechberg) and you’ll win awesome cars and credits in the game.

With the Nissan Skyline Super Silhouette as our September Spotlight car, we’ve got some great Skyline-themed Rivals events up and running; one on Suzuka East and another at Maple Valley. The Skyline Super Silhouette will star in its own event on Daytona Sports Car circuit beginning this week as well.

This week we kicked off our new “Wheels of Fire” League season. Over the next four weekly League series, we’ll be featuring events that feature a huge variety of cars. As you might expect, we’ll have series dedicated to the Nissan Skyline family (a perfect place for that Skyline Silhouette), as well as events featuring the Koenigsegg Regera, Formula E cars, early prototype racers, Forza Group Rally and a Drift Spec event starring the HUSV Limited Edition GEN-F GTS Maloo, among others.

Great #Forzathon events abound in September. We’ve got lots of events with big credit rewards, as well as goodies like the Motorcycle Cop, Spa Day, and Disco Diver Gear up for grabs. And let’s not forget another chance to get your hands on exclusive cars like the 2017 Ford GT Forza Edition, the 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi Forza Edition, and the elusive 1958 MG MGA Twin-Cam, which is the reward in our month-long “September Showcase” #Forzathon event.

    Forza Race Regulations March Beta
The rollout of Forza Race Regulations (FRR) begins this month. Starting in March, we are beginning to introduce FRR to Forza Motorsport 7 and this rollout will take place over several months as we continue to introduce new functionality and features to the system, and to listen to feedback from the Forza community.

Beginning on March 13, we will be launching a closed FRR beta hopper that will be accessible to a small number of players, including Turn 10 developers and invited Forza Motorsport 7 players. During this closed beta, Turn 10 will be experimenting with the first version of FRR in a retail environment, and gathering feedback from invited players. The scope of the FRR feature set in the March closed beta will be limited to track cutting only and will feature UI elements and implementation aspects that are not yet final. For example, while players will incur time penalties for cutting the track in this FRR hopper, those penalties will not affect players’ final placement after a race has completed. Incurred track-cutting time penalties will begin to count towards event results after the April update.

Also in April, we expect to open a public FRR beta hopper that will be accessible to all Forza Motorsport 7 players. Look for a more detailed explanation of how FRR features will work with the April update – as well as more detail on how FRR will evolve in the months ahead – coming next month.

Only 6 Hopper groups? I mean... ALL the others divisions will not be cycled? It has no sense, hundreds of cars out of the division hoppers. Why? Want you definitely kill the game? At least let us open a private-public lobby like was on Forza4. In one hand a good effort with the new penalty regulations, in other hand you kill the game cutting 600-700 cars from the hoppers.
