Hi guys,

I decided to pick up tuning again and set up shop.
Did quite a lot in FM 2, 3 and 4.
I skipped 5 until recently and even tough I have a lot of hours in FM6, I did not really actively published and shared setups.

So what changed? Well even with all the controversy around the changes in FM7 and some of the key parts (leaderboards & rivals / hot lap) that seem to be either missing or really well hidden, I am really enjoying myself with FM7.

Big part of the new challenge, I bought a TX Leather edition wheel and this will be the first Forza I will mostly drive with a wheel. Now besides setting up the wheel itself, it makes setting up the cars a lot more challenging. Playing with the Xbox controller, it is a lot easier to compensate unbalanced setups and tunes. What works OK on the controller, can be undrivable with the wheel.

On the gamepad, I drive no assist and sim steering, 0-100 deadzones.

TX Leather edition

In Forza7 advanced settings
- no assist and sim steering
- Deadzones 0 - 100 (breaking outside 85 with the conical brake mod)
Vibration: 45
FFB: 100
ATS: 100
MTS: 80
PTS: 90
RFS: 55
LS: 98
WDS: 50
CSS: 10
DDB: 100
WRS: 900
SL: 50

So the goal for the tunes: get a well balanced and all round setup that is easy to handle on the wheel. Forgiving with small mistakes and allows catching the car when (not if, when) the AI or your multiplayer friend play bumper cars in stead of driving a clean race. Once I get the setup right on the wheel to a point where it is fun, easy and consistent on the laptimes, I try it on the controller to set some fast laptimes. With some final adjustments, the end result is something that suits my driving style, is neutral regarding over / understeer and is well balanced. Works both with gamepad and wheel driving no assists.

I'm working my way through the career mode, so expect cars to be added along the way. Give them a try, any feedback is welcome.

CRX uploaded for the Hot Hatch Genesis division.
Handles really well with the wheel.

Just been tested by dad with controller with normal steering and automatic gearbox, he is getting consistent quick laptimes as well.

I'm running the career mode tracks:
Catalunya National - 1:29.959 - top 1% - #158 when set
Monza Short - 1:02.630 - top 1% - #665 when set
Alps Club-R - 1:39.961 - top 1% - #687 when set
Prague Short-R - 1:13.946 - top 2% - #836 when set

SPK M3

I found a really nice balance with this one.

5 laps ran on the following tracks;

Yas Marina North - #3

Monza Short - #7
Homestead Road - #9
Silverstone International - #4

This tune is extremely stable and is most definitely suited to the wheel. Being a pad user, I initially struggled with the effort of turning the car, as it feels really heavy. Braking was unpredictable, with the back end sometimes becoming light.
Overall though, a good stable set-up.

Thanks Odin, this is a great idea. I have the same setup so will look forward to trying these out. I am going to dive back into tuning as well, as using the wheel really makes you appreciate the finer points of handing in the game, which is actually quite brilliant by the way.

I remember some of your tunes from way back in Forza 3/4, good to see you back :)

I'll give some of them a test and see how they go on my setup (Different wheel setup to yours).

Thx, just put up a new tune:
Sport GT
- Nissan GT-R Black Edition FE [ S775 - AWD ]
GTR FE
I managed to dial out (most of the) understeer and get top 100, top 50 and top 25 times driving with the wheel.
Rather fast yet driver friendly.

I am still messing about a bit with the TX wheel setup, but will post my actual setting soon in the opening post.
Not that easy to get a feel for the car, especially if you like the wheel to be a wheel, not a full body workout.

I've just used your Ferrari 512 tune, you've done a good job. I struggle to find good tunes to use with the wheel. I'm trying to use just the wheel for forza 7 and it's frustrating to not be able to catch the back when it looses it slightly. Had no problems with your tune. Keep up the good work, you have a new follower.

New car available:
- 1993 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec [ B525 - AWD ]

Will be trying to get some time in on the wheel during the weekend.
See if I can get another decent tune out.

Also been playing around with the wheel settings a bit, will update those as well.

Finally had the time to finish some more tunes:

Sport Compact Icons
- 2000 Nissan Silvia Spec-R FE [ C500 - RWD ]
Tuned for hot lap competition on RIO, not my favorite track to say the least but nice grip on tight tracks.

- 1994 Nissan Silvia K's [ C500 - RWD ]

The 2000 is more grip oriented, the 1994 has a bit more speed.

Final try for the RIO hot lap competition resulted in this tune:
- 1994 Honda Prelude Si [ C500 - FWD ]
Good for the tight and twisty stuff, can be driven clean but she also likes getting tossed around a bit.
Quite a versatile thing when it comes to driving style acceptance.
Might not be your first or second choice in this division but you just might like it.

SPK 360CS

Thing of beauty:
- 2003 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale [ A700 - RWD ]

Entry for the "Welcome to Hell" Tuning Competition.
Nice all round and stable build and tune capable of leaderboard times in the right hands.

SPK 288 GTO

A classic:
- 1984 Ferrari 288 GTO [ A700 - RDW ]

Back up car for the tuning competition, actually faster on some tracks but a bit more of a challenge to handle on some tracks.
Good turn in response and speed, but no rear aero so keep that in mind in those long high speed corners.

Please do, any feedback is also very welcome.

Curious to see what Dust will do with the 360CS as well.

That is, together with the BMW M3 my favorite right now.

Hello Odinthe1337, I too am a wheel user with the TMX Pro setup.3 pedals.
I tried the BMW M3 '05 in the 204F HLC which is currently running the cars for the "Sport Touring Icons" on the Daytona Short speedway track.

Your Tune for the BMW M3 '05 is perfect for this car. My best was a 1:49.6.
The tune needs more top speed to compete with the other cars.

There is a BMW M3 '08 that is faster . I have a best lap of 1:48.2, and is not stable. Your tune setup would be great for this car.
Could you tune the BMW M3 "08 for the Daytona Short circuit track? I would like to try it. It is the Night Short track.
The 204Forza Hot Lap ends on 1-02- 2018.

I may be one of the oldest Forza racers competing in Forza at 79 years old. I've been racing Forza since 2005 with the 1st Forza and always used a wheel.

Good luck in your Tuning!
I may send you a friends Invite.

Thank you for you kind words. Good to see you are enjoying your racing.
The most fun I have is competing against my father who is almost 70 and gives me a real challenge both hotlapping and racing since Forza 2.

I am glad you like the car, it is grip oriented and the goal was to get it as stable as possible, turns out it works really well on certain tracks for hotlapping as well.
I have been a bit inactive recently, getting through the holidays on antibiotics. But this sounds like a nice challenge so I will give the '05 M3 a run on Daytona to set a benchmark and then build a '08 M3 to beat it. Give it more speed with a similar feel.

If it works, I will post it here.
