There seems to be two main issues (apart from the deadzones, ffb vibration, etc, bugs).
1) On wheel or controller there is a noticable input lag or smoothing. Given the distance you need to move a wheel to correct a slide compared to a pad, this is a big issue, as you can often try to catch slides that then flick back as it thinks you're overcorrecting.
2) The throttle mapping is bats**t insane - this is why the wheels feel like all the cars are massively oversteering even when stock.
Instead of being mapped like a normal throttle, to torque demand, the accerator appears to just relate to the available power at the time.
For example, in a road car with 200bhp at 3000rpm - lets say you open the throttle to 50% and it gives you 100bhp at 3000rpm.
Now, that same car makes 400bhp at 6000rpm - but it'll still only give you 100bhp if you go to 50% throttle at 6000rpm.
In game, the throttle is giving you a percentage *of the power available* - basically, 50% of what it can make at that rpm.
So, in game car is 200bhp at 3000rpm, half throttle gives you 100bhp.
At 6000rpm, the car makes 400bhp. 50% throttle gives you 200bhp.
It's not at all linear, it makes engines that come on boost or cam and produce more torque in sudden jumps suddenly crank on a load more power even if you're only on half throttle trying to control a slide. So you spin out. Even though you shouldn't.
Whoever set it needs a slap around the back of the head.
Now, I don't even think it was designed like that - these problems haven't been in other Forza games - I think they're using a blend of the two or some sort of modifier curve on the throttle to make it feel like that - and that's the end result, or feels like it anyway - the bottom 75% of the pedal basically ends up doing nothing and the last 25% is like a switch.
If you think the game designers couldn't possibly let a bug this glaring past - someone would have noticed, right?
Well, the Brake Bias slider in game for tuning is reversed, nobody has noticed it, nobody has even mentioned it on this forum, I sent a bug report in days ago and have heard nothing.
How does that get past Beta!?
