UPDATE 8/26/2020:Update 26 increased the garage size to 1000 cars; other filesave limits are unchanged.
UPDATE 3 (04/02/2019):Earlier today an update for the game was released which increased the limits from 550 vehicles to 750 vehicles. The paintjob/tune limit was also increased from 300 to 500.
You can find the full changelog
here.
UPDATE 2 (15/01/2019):During yesterday's (14/01/2019) Update 5 showcase stream the host of the stream mentioned that the devs are planning on releasing the increased limits update as a standalone update between Update 5 (released today, 15th of Jan) and Update 6 (released some time next month). This means that we're hopefully getting the increased limits within the next month or so.
You can watch the full stream
here.
UPDATE 1 (10/11/2018):A Forza Staff member, JONK1969, has confirmed that the developers are working on increasing these limits. At the moment there is no ETA on when these increased limits will be available. There are also no news about how much the limits will be increased by, but it's safe to assume that they will most likely match the limits that were in Forza Motorsport 7 (900 vehicles | 500 paints/tunes).

Is there any further confirmation about the garage limit in FH4 being 900 instead of 550? I saw the below quote posted in the "
Max level on FH4?" thread but when I go to spin a Super Wheelspin the game tells me that I need to have atleast 3 free spots in my garage before I can spin it again, I'm currently at 550 vehicles in total. I put up a few vehicles for auction at the Auction House and went back down to 540, after reaching that number I was able to do more Super Wheelspins. I then reached 550 vehicles in total again and the game started giving me that same message when I attempted to do a Super Wheelspin.
Quote:Garage limit was 550 for every game before FM7, which raised the limit to 900. It is confirmed FH4 Garage limit will also be 900.
Apparently the garage limit being 900 instead of 550 was confirmed during a live stream before the release of the game, but I guess something must've happened between then and now as the vehicle limit is definitely 550 and not 900.

Other limits that I'd like to ask about is the paintjob & tune limit, which currently is at 300 paintjobs/tunes in total. Supposedly this game has 521 vehicles as of right now, but with the paintjob/tune limit being set at that only 300 of them can have a custom paintjob/tune. How does that make any sense? Why does an open world racing game like this with hundreds of vehicles have so many limits? It makes absolutely no sense.
