Probably done as good as I'm gonna do. At the 10% on the oval, set with a wheel, can only get within a 1/10th of a second with controller.

Finally took off assisted brakes on GP track and raised my 1:16xxx to 1:12.571, moving from 47% to 13%. I don't know if I can shave off .450 to get in the 10% group.

Got the message about JN passing me at the Indy GP, so gave it about 23 (or so) laps to get ahead by only 0:00.002 with a 1:09.867 (JN @ 1:09.869) ...lol... A little luck I guess! Based on my laps, I could tell I have a some more time left, yet, not too much. Thus, hoping they all stop racing the event!

At the Indy Oval, I am at 38.348, 0:00.061 away from JN (@38.287) and 0:00.035 away from Hinchcliffe (@ 38.312). Hard to time my release on throttle so I do not rev bang, and, thus losing speed. Will give the Oval another try, yet, it takes a lot of laps to just get into the "groove", then, focusing on how to control the speed prior to T1 and T3.

** Update --> Oval now @ 38.314 (0.002 away from Hinchcliffe, 0.027 away from JN)....soooooo close (seems that way, yet, for the Oval....its a lot)!

Wickens has yet to set a time in either event. Hinchcliffe and Daly haven't improved their times since May 15. Newgarden improved his GP time today.

Leaderboard times as of 8pm Pacific May 24.

0:38.119 | 1:07.177 - worldwide top times (32,063 / 22,114 players)
0:38.287 | 1:09.869 JNRACERTPX2 - Josef Newgarden (#350 / #326 worldwide)
0:38.312 | 1:11.539 Hinchcliffe5 - James Hinchcliffe
0:38.493 | 1:11.530 Kart2221 - Conor Daly

My times as of May 25, 2018:

Brickyard: ForzaRC Indycar Challenge
0:38:255 (Manual and Racing Line only. Done with just a simple Ferrari 458 Spider Wheel)

Grand Prix Circuit: ForzaRC Indycar Challenge
1:09:768 (Manual, TC, and Racing Line only. Done with Elite Controller w/o paddles and left trigger set to short.)

Despite the brutality and struggling, I am really enjoying these Bounty Hunter events. I'm really only after the Chevy Super Sport in the Brickyard event. As long as I'm in the top 10% of the Grand Prix event, I am happy as I could do without the Driver Gear or car prizes for beating the Indycar drivers there. Regardless, I will still manage to push myself out there and try my best. Quote Newgarden "Will go faster."

Regarding the top 10% on the leaderboard to get a prize, do you have to be 10.0% or better or just 10% on the leaderboard? I am at 10% on the leaderboard but if you do the math it's 10.XX%, (slightly over 10.0%) on the oval. I've done a couple hundred laps and I've had enough.

My best times have not improved since setting my 38.46 and 1:14.5 (?) on the Oval and GP courses respectively (7% and 25% in the world). My oval time was the first i’ve probably ever beaten one of my friends (38.607) who turns TCS/STM off and uses manual transmission, which I also used for my oval time. So that means i’ve officially beaten an Indycar driver’s time (Conor Daly). As for my Indy GP time... my habit is flooring it on the exits of corners and I think with a wheel I would have better throttle and steering control but I can’t afford a Fanatec setup or any wheel for that matter.

Will try to get some laps in tonight, but I’m prepping for tomorrow’s Pirelli World Challenge spectator event at local track Lime Rock Park. Gotta get my car cleaned for the infield parking corrals, and it’s just a lime-green Toyota Hatchback.

[Speculation]
There was no mention of an end date in today's Week in Review article so I'm guessing this will go at least another week. IndyCar will be racing in Detroit next weekend. Maybe they'll finalize their times by next Thursday/Friday and the event will close on June 4th or 5th.

That's my guess. If Brian mentions anything more concrete on today's #ForzaFriday Mixer stream, I'm sure someone will post it here.
[/Speculation]

Thanks ManteoMax!

Just what I need, time for more laps. That being said, I am at 38:268 on the oval.

I just need to beat that guy. You know the one. The one in front of me.

So ah, let's say the event closes and IndyCar's greatest rookie of 2018 Robert Wickens can't be bothered to set a time. Does that mean everyone automatically gets the reward for beating Robert Wickens?

Was wondering the same thing. I only really want the prize for beating him out of all the prizes on offer this time around but would rather have the challenge than getting it by default.

It didn’t seem to be that specific so I’ve taken it to be as long as it doesn’t say you’re in the top 11% then you’re fine.

Really can’t see myself running any more laps around the Oval, tbh I didn’t do that many anyway so I’m not even expecting to be in the top 10% by the time it finishes.
Sweating a bit on what Mr. Wickens will do on the GP circuit so I put some more effort into it & managed to find a whole second after about 4 sessions yesterday. Pleased with that & I think I can get into the 9’s…

Hinchcliffe did not qualify his car and was not able to get another one for the Indy 500... So he might have more time to play.

This is one of the things I dislike about the Indy 500 but it is what it is...

My times

Indianapolis Oval 180/386 world, 38.290
Indianapolis GP 101/281 world, 1:09.756
Mugello (currently redoing) 132/466 world, 1:36.389 (going to reduce to 1:35.8 or lower

New Mugello 40/133 world 1.:35.041

I'm probably not going to be redoing GP because it's mostly corner cutting and I don't care once you're basically running outside the boundaries of the track and it's being redone (and hopefully with removed tirewalls on all tracks)

murder the tire walls, you can watch the top replays to see what line they took.

That just seems to throw me off... I believe I only went inside the white line once, on turn 1, but I spared the tires.

I've just managed to move 2 places above you with 1:09.753!

I'm wondering why many people seem to not be trying for this one? People who I'd expect to be able to beat me, like Triton and Braindead, are so far off my pace that I know they simply haven't tried to do a fast time. Don Ente would normally be around my time but doesn't seem to even want a participation reward.

the first tire wall after the straight is in the way, get rid of it to use all the road, after the second straight the tire wall at the end is also in the way, you can use that entire section without penalty (which is what they are fixing now) so essentially, what you thought was the track actually isn't the fastest route and actually isn't the track. It sucks.

Because probably no one feels like this is actually a race. There are 3 cuts in the track so it's more about knowing the cuts and getting them right vs. actually using all your skill to beat everyone else. Now if the cuts were off limits then it would probably be a different story but I know that's the very reason why I'm not doing it. Sometimes I had gripes with tracks like these but this one is so high up on the offender list that it's disgusting.
