Yes. I am utterly disappointed with the direction that Turn 10 took with Forza 7. To me it feels a lot like playing WoT, War Thunder and other free games with pay-to-win content. Racing isn't rewarding anymore and limiting the cars you can buy by using a "garage level" is preposperous. It feels like I am forced to buy cars in order to be able to be able to buy the one I'd like to own. Not to mention that some cars prices are absolutely insane (200K credits for a BMW 850i ?) and it reeks of upcoming micro-transaction.
I feel like the only interactions I am going have with the Forza franchise in the future will be through the Horizon games.

Apologies, but this website is for an E for Everyone/Pegi 3+ rated game and this forum allows posters as young as 13. The link you posted is to material that were you to post of transcript of to the forums would earn you an instant permanent ban.

Hieronymus, I realize that in this case, the OP's post was in violation of the ToS for the forums. I'm not disagreeing with you here.

But your snarky, aggressive, and condescending tone as of late is not representing these forums well. When people have concerns about the game, meeting those concerns with an upturned nose and a haughty, aloof manner does not make people feel less concerned. I realize that negativity may be overwhelming but you are not making things any better with this behavior. In fact, you're probably reinforcing the negative image that people may have about the game.

If it were censorship, I would have edited out the title so no one would know what you had posted. I left it so that those who might be interested could search for it themselves.
If it were censorship, I would have locked the thread so no one could respond. I left it open so that it can stay active a little longer so that others could see why I removed the link.
If it were censorship, I would have made the thread disappear entirely. Again, I left it open so that others could see my response and know why the link was removed.

The drama-queen back at work.

OT: He is absolutely spot on on what the game is structured around. Unfortunately he missed the VIP Pass fiasco. Hopefully many people see his video and this horrible loot box **** doesn't become a permanent thing in full-price games.

In the interests of full disclosure, I don't particularly care for this loot box mechanic either. I'd much rather see something similar to what we've had the past several games but a lot of people have been asking for innovation when it comes to single player, and well, here it is.

I am in the rare position of agreeing with Hieronymus1967 about this one. I watched the review and have to agree the language is a little rough (I'm being polite.) I almost reported the thread but I figured it wouldn't take too long before it was addressed.

Hieronymus1967 has a rough job right now. I don't envy him but he is doing his job. Getting mad a him won't help anything. Many people are posting harsh comments about the game. I admit I have many issues with the game and have posted them. I can understand being harsh with Turn 10 as a group but I don't believe going after the moderators is a good idea.

If I'm being completely honest, Hiero, like most of the mods here, has a rough job and most likely has a dry sense of humor, like several other mods, and it is an acquired taste. I often see humor in his posts.

I was waiting to see how long it would take Jim Sterling (son) to address this, and he's been rather quick with it, all things considered. I'll have to find the video on YouTube (shame I can't just grab the link from here, but hey-ho) and add it to my watch later list. I hope he also touched on the VIP debacle either here, or in another Jimquisition.

Thank you, Hieronymus1967, for all you do to keep these forums civil. Perhaps it because we have a similar sense of humour, but I very much love reading your responses. I do appreciate all the time and hard work you put in to this!

I am often surprised at how much leeway you mods allow the members in their posts.

It still baffles me how loot boxes are allowed in games that kids can play. Here's an interesting read if anybody is interested http://www.pcgamer.com/behind-the-addictive-psychology-and-seductive-art-of-loot-boxes/

Thank you lads for the kind words, it's appreciated. Don't worry about us moderators though, we're the closest thing to Turn 10 here on the forums at the moment and as a result, some think that having a go at us somehow helps get their point across to Turn 10. It's all part of the job and despite the occasional death threats and profanity-laced PMs, it's not so bad really. I've been pretty visible this past week on the forums so it's all to be expected. Someone even threatened to pursue legal action against me yesterday which hasn't happened in so long I was beginning to think people had forgotten about pretend lawyers.

To be honest, that was a bit of a conscious decision on our part given the sheer volume of posts and the general sense of anger and disappointment. We felt it best to give posters some room to vent their spleens and get it out of their systems in the run-up to full release. We'll start slowly tightening the screws here soon and getting back to regular programming before you know it.

It's called conditioning.

We have been conditioned since the introduction of tokens for them to be harmless things that can sit in the background, be ignored and turned off.

Over a long timeline we accept it as normal and ok, then the next layer is added and that's the randomly scheduled reward.

It's gambling / gaming theory and it's what casinos and slot machines use to get you hooked.

And the video gaming industry seems to have been infiltrated by those who would turn it into an extension of the gambling industry.

But now it is on your phones, consoles, PCs. It is showing minors how the system works and normalising it to them.

It's dark and it's not a good direction.

I wouldn't call loot boxes an "innovation",its a bandwagon that every dev seems to be jumping on.

Perhaps more than they might ever know. Dragnet actually spotted if first and alerted me to it. I volunteered to go ahead and take care of it since I'm already top of so many people's dance cards this week.

The loot crates are not worth it. I just spent 300k credits on a "lucky car crate" with a chance for a legendary car and what did I get? A few "uncommon" mods and a duplicate Lotus Evora. From now on, the only crates i'll buy with credits will be the mod crates since they're the cheapest and I pretty much know what i'm getting. If they want to offer free crates as Forzathon rewards or gift VIPs a weekly VIP crate (somehow I doubt they will), then that's fine. But i'm not spending a bunch of in-game credits and most definitely not real money on a loot crate that could end up being useless.
