Once you win the Driver's Cup Championship, the sixth in the series, the remaining showcase events will open up. One of those new showcases is a car passing event with the Vulcan, one of which you will be awarded for beating the target. I got mine last night.

Exclusive cars (FAQ: Why are cars locked? How can I get XYZ?)

All cars that a player has rights to (game + installed DLC) can be used in Free Play as Rental cars (which do not pay CR or XP for use), but not all cars are available from Buy Cars. There are two ways that cars are locked from use in the Forza Driver's Cup: Car Collector Tier and Exclusive cars. Each car is assigned to a Car Collector Tier, and only Common cars are available to start. After increasing Tier points from by collecting cars, the Uncommon tier will unlock and most of those cars will be available to buy for your garage. But in each Tier there are some cars that are not listed in the Buy Cars menu even after unlocking the Car Collecting Tier. These Exclusive cars can be seen in the Car Collection menu with a lock icon, and selecting the car will list the ways these cars become available:

• Prize Crates (users report few if any Exclusives from Prize Crates)
  
• Specialty Dealer (new set of cars every Tuesday at 5pm Pacific)
  
• Forzathon
  
• Completing the Forza Driver's Cup
  
• Completing Showcase Events
  
• Auction House from other players

Turn 10 has not announced when specific car models will become available.

Car Pricing

The most expensive cars in the game are also the Legendary tier cars. Dan Greenawalt discussed car values during the debut livestream on September 27; car prices are not tied to real world auction sales or retail prices, which is why some seemingly average cars seem to have unusually high values. When buying a car from the Buy Cars menu players can choose between Homologated setup or Stock setup, but either way the price of the car also includes the necessary parts for auto-Homologation.

Car values and Collector points are directly related, so the more expensive the car, the more points the car adds to your total.

I feel like....as essentially a baja truck, the Ram Runner should be able to handle curbs and tight corners better....rather than nearly tipping over....but maybe that's just me.

@transamconnor I honestly think only forza edition cars are available in the crates (out of the "exclusive cars"), well at least for now that is, i have opened over 5 million in cr in these crates to try and get one of the 100 locked cars and i have had no luck yet, my guess is that we will see them in the specialty dealer and forzathon

That still leaves the specialty dealer for the regular cars, I'm still undecided on whether that's actually a good idea or not. Perhaps, if when the next game comes out, all the cars that were previously only available through it are dumped into the buy cars menu for everyone, it's not so bad. Plus, if the stock rotates around fairly often to include previously available cars, there should be a decent amount of the cars available.

It still somewhat sucks for the Forza Editions to be locked behind that mechanic, since it seems a lot of them have bodykit exclusive to them that cannot be applied to the regular variant.

The whole system is a good idea badly executed imo, the car tier level is a great idea, its not too hard to get to level 5 to unlock all the cars so that gives anyone the chance to play the single player to unlock the cars in not too long of a time, but hiding cars is wrong, another funny thing is that most cars that are "exclusive content" are previous dlc so In theory we have payed for the cars more than once, we have purchased them in this game and in other previous games as dlc, but some how they think its ok to not give us them straight away

I asked the same question a couple of months ago because I thought that was Turn 10's decision not to include it (I didn't understand why) and someone told me that maybe the reason is because of the Mercedes-McLaren licence. I thought that he was totally right. However, I was hoping the SLR would come back in 2018, due to the rumour that McLaren would return with Mercedes by 2018, in a DLC but my hopes vanished because I read McLaren is making partnerships with Renault and not with Mercedes again. I asked directly to Mercedes twitter account if the Mercedes-McLaren licence is expired, but had no answer. Of course this is all merely an assumption. In the end, the sad thing is that I'll never be able to drive again my favorite car in a recent videogame. I'll keep playing FM6 then.

Hello guys. In a video I saw that the rental Koenigsegg Agera One has a R class, but for sale it has a P class. Someone confirms or explains why? Thanks

In most places where you can buy the car for your garage, it's upgraded to Homologation standard in order to compete in the single player Forza Driver's Cup. You can remove those upgrades in your garage, and Rental in Free Play offers the car stock setup. Homologation details are linked in the first post of this thread.

For whatever it may be worth, I actually was able to choose this car as one of my level-up rewards yesterday. I was fortunately looking at Formula E cars in the Buy Cars just before I won it, so I didn't recognize the number or design, and sure enough, it was listed as an Exclusive Car in the Car Collection menu.

This was the only Exclusive Car in the level-up rewards I've seen so far - nothing before it and nothing since - so I don't know whether or not this is for sure another way these cars can be obtained or I was just very fortunate from a glitch or bug.
