Alongside today’s launch of the Blizzard Mountain expansion for Forza Horizon 3, we have released a free content update that addresses several issues with FH3 on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. In addition, we have updated our minimum recommended Nvidia driver for the PC version of the game to the 376.09. The recommended AMD driver has not changed.

In addition to a number of improvements designed to improve performance and stability on PC, we have introduced new tuning options available for Force Feedback Wheels in the game. These include:

  • The new Force Feedback Understeer slider allows players to control the FFB torque resistance when tire peak grip is exceeded and it starts to slide. The player can either increase or decrease this effect by moving the slider; the default profile value for this is equal to what it is currently already in game.

  • The new Force Feedback Minimum Force slider allows players to control the FFB torque resistance when the tire peak grip has not yet been reached. Players can control the FFB resistance and make it tighter or looser near the steering wheel’s center point. The default profile value for this is equal to what is currently in game.

  • Additionally, all FFB tuning sliders from the PC version, including the two additions above, have also been added to the Xbox One version of the game.

In addition, this update addresses an issue where tuning values could persist after removing race parts.

Thanks,
Brian

Extras: Tokens

Forum: discussion thread
Available: December 17, 2016

Tokens are a DLC accelerator used for buying cars and upgrades in lieu of credits. A "T" icon in the Autoshow below the Credit value shows the equivalent value in Tokens. The conversion rate is 1 Token = 500 Credits (slightly less for upgrades), so a car valued at 50,000 credits is worth 100 tokens. Selecting the car or upgrade basket prompts a choice between using your available credits or tokens.

Tokens are purchased in packs of 100 ($1) up to 20,000 ($99). Token packs are consumable by gamertag; they are not sharable with guest accounts on a Gold member's console, and once used, they cannot be restored by resetting the gamesave.

Using tokens is not required, and the icons and prompts can be turned off by going to the Pause / Marketplace / Extras menu and selecting "Disable Tokens" (helpful in preventing grabby guests or children from inadvertently spending your tokens).

Monthly DLC: Rockstar Energy Car Pack

FM.net: Rockstar Energy Car Pack Announcement with video
YouTube: Trailer
Microsoft.com: Store
Forums: discussion thread
Release: January 3, 2017
Price: $6.99 pack (included free with Car Pass and Ultimate Edition) or $2.99 for individual cars (excluding BMW)

The Rockstar Car Pack is an add-on available for all editions of the game. The pack costs $7 for Standard and Deluxe Edition owners, or individual cars can be purchased for $3 each (excluding the BMW which is pack-only). Car Pass and Ultimate Edition owners do not need to download or purchase anything other than the game content update - simply go to the Autoshow in any festival site to access the cars (DLC Cars tile or View All). Purchase the pack from the Store, Windows and Xbox Apps, in-game Marketplace tab, or from the Autoshow when you attempt to buy a car from the pack. Digital owners need only purchase the DLC once and it will be accessible to both your console and PC as part of the Play Anywhere program. Once you own the DLC you should find the cars in the Autoshow where you can collect them for your garage for free (one time each model; after that the cars cost credits). The pack adds 7 cars to the game roster.

Included Car Models
  • 2016 Bentley Bentayga
  • 2015 BMW i8
  • 2014 Ford #11 Rockstar Energy F-150 Trophy Truck
  • 1972 Ford Falcon XA GT-HO
  • 1987 Nissan Skyline GTS-R (R31)
  • 2016 Radical RXC Turbo
  • 2015 Volvo V60 Polestar

This is the debut of the production BMW i8 in any video game; the other models are all new to any Forza game. The i8 was the most requested car model from the community in the FH3 Car Wish List thread (tabulated at launch), with the Bentayga and R31 also in the top 200 most requested.

[UPDATE 1/5/17 10:45 a.m. Pacific] -- The team is preparing the new version of the latest update for the PC version of FH3, which will include the Rockstar Energy Car Pack. While I don't yet have an exact ETA of when this update will be available, I'm hoping it will be as early as tomorrow. As soon as the new version is available, I'll update this thread accordingly. Thanks for your patience.

[UPDATE: 1:30 p.m. Pacific] - A few updates for you:

- The incorrect PC version of FH3 has now been removed and replaced. PC players who have the FH3 version ending with .37.2 should immediately uninstall that version of the game, then re-install. The correct playable version should end in .35.2.

- NOTE: PC players who completed the download of .37.2 and then started a new game save will have a corrupted saved game. Avoid creating a new saved game on .37.2, and only play on .35.2 to avoid this issue. As long as you have an existing save and have not created a new one on .37.2, your saved game will work correctly once the update is available.

As a reminder, you can check your version number on the launch screen where you sign in.

Hi folks,

We are aware of an issue with PC players being required to download the full version of FH3. While we investigate the cause and a fix, we are recommending that PC players cancel their current downloads of this FH3 update, as players who download this update will likely need to re-download the game again once the fix is in place.

More updates as they become available.

Thanks,
Brian

Earlier today we were made aware of an issue with the “Shake, Rally and Roll” #Forzathon event; specifically where players were completing the challenge but were not receiving the Subaru rewards car. The team is aware of this and, while this event will unfortunately not be fixed this weekend, we will provide players with additional chances to earn that Subaru reward car in an upcoming #Forzathon event. We’d like to apologize to everyone who has run into this issue and we look forward to offering additional chances for players to earn this car in the future.

Yesterday we posted a new CU alongside the Playseat Car Pack. Here's a rundown of the big improvements made to the game with this CU:

Gameplay
• Six new Horizon Edition cars have been added to Wheelspins.

General Improvements
• When in Drone Mode there is now an option to stabilize the camera when stationary. This will halt the roving camera movement of the drone (Xbox One and Windows).
• Fixed an issue where PC players with an aspect ratio wider than 16:9 (including multiple monitors) could not navigate the map correctly in the Blizzard Mountain expansion (Windows).

Wheel Support
• Added a maximum pre-rendered frames option to the graphics menu to address input delay on PC when locked at 30fps. This option allows players to choose how many frames the graphics card can queue up in advance. Lowering this value will reduce input delay, while increasing it may affect game performance. It is recommended that players choose 1 pre-rendered frame when playing at locked 30 framerate or 3 pre-rendered frames when playing at an unlocked framerate.

Thanks,
Brian

Gift DLC: 2016 Spania GTA Spano Duracell Edition

FM.net: Duracell Spano Announcement
YouTube: Trailer
Store: Link
Forums: discussion thread
Release: March 7, 2017
Price: Free for all players

Quote:
BONUS CAR – Forza Horizon 3 Duracell 2016 GTA Spano
In addition to the seven cars found in the Duracell Car Pack, starting Tuesday, March 7 Forza Horizon 3 players have a chance to add an additional car to their garage -- the Duracell-themed 2016 GTA Spano. To get it, all you need to do is head to the Xbox Store and search for “Forza Horizon 3 GTA Spano.” Download the car at no additional cost and then restart Forza Horizon 3, and the car will be automatically added to your Forza Horizon 3 garage. Note that this car does not require players to own the Duracell Car Pack in order to redeem.

As an exclusive bonus car, this version of the Spano is not listed in the Autoshow. This car is treated by the game as a separate model from the GTA Spano in the October Car pack, meaning that designs and tuning files for one can't be used on the other. The livery on this version of the Spano is native to the car, so it can be restored if you paint over it.

Any changelog for the new 1.0.67.2 patch please ?

This update specifically fixes the problem players were having being stuck on the buy Hot Wheels screen after the introduction video played. This should be fixed now.

The issue of not being able to play Blizzard Mountain or the game since the Hot Wheels update is unrelated, and is actively being investigated by Turn 10, Playground, and Windows teams with the highest priority.

Not yet, this update was specifically released to fix an issue where players were unable to proceed from the buy Hot Wheels prompt. That's a game-breaker.

After the required content update has been installed (typically released after 10 a.m. Pacific time) and the pack is owned, the included cars can be collected for your garage for free from the Autoshow menu (one time each model; after that the cars cost credits). The pack adds 7 cars to the game roster.

The Dodge Dart was among the top 100 most requested car models from the community in the FH3 Car Wish List thread (tabulated at launch), and both the Gremlin and F50 GT were among the top 200 most requested.
