Apologies if this has been posted, could not find anything using the old search box.

Has anybody found anything which indicates that Mod Cards from FM6 are making a return in FH3? I have not yet seen them mentioned. Personally I do not tend to use them and find them a bit gimmicky, but they might work better on an arcade focused racer like Horizon.

Mod cards are not part of Horizon 3.

Thanks for the response, it's probably for the best to be honest!

Good. Didn't get on with mod cards at all. Been using them for achievement purposes, but even then i'm just using ones that cancel each other out. Whoever thought Mod cards in a supposed racing sim was a good idea totally lost the plot. Oh but Halo has them, we must have them in Forza. Yeah, Halo also has guns and aliens, haven't seen those appear. Some things are appropriate for some games and some are not. Hopefully they'll not be in Forza 7 either. Wasting time on putting in Mod cards nobody asked for means yet again Playground have beat Turn 10 at their own game and brought back much requested features. lol

Halo 5 was the first Halo to implement "mod cards" and that game didn't come out until after Forza 6. Not to mention that Halo 5 REQ packs are part of the multiplayer reward system that gives players cosmetic and other in-game bonuses that can't be used in campaign. Forza 6 mod cards are single player game modifiers designed to add more depth and replay value to career mode only. Similar on the surface but not really the same thing at all.

And just because you didn't ask for them or find them useful doesn't mean that you should speak for other players who maybe did enjoy them. Food for thought.

I wasn't speaking for others, that's why I said I didn't get on with them. Also they were in development at the same time and as Microsoft 1st tier devs they will all have been asked to apply certain "features" to their games.
Giving you +12% braking and -6% weight does not add to the game, it just makes it even easier. IN MY OPINION. I don't care what others think. That's their business. I didn't say any feature has to be removed, I just said i'm glad one has not been included by the developers as i didn't get on with it. I'm one of the first people on these boards to say that people shouldn't ask for features to be removed just because they don't use them. Which is a world away from saying you personally are glad something isn't in this game. It's never had them, it won't have them this time. I am glad about that. I was not speaking for others, nor was I saying things should change. Things haven't changed, i'm glad, ME personally. Not you, not the OP, not some imaginary gamer you're offended on behalf of. Just ME.

I think the only reason why Mod Cards were added to the game was to make it more appealing to people that don't normally play sim racers, I personally don't mind the mods I think some of them are actually quite useful. It would make sense to add them into a Horizon game though, because you can have mods such as, "Jump over _________ Yards in a race to earn __________ CR" Just an idea.

I don't think much to them either, I stopped using them in the end as all I got was rubbish, some folk like them while some don't. I think they in there for people who use tokens, but that cost you real money.

The only mod cards that i think should've or should be in any future game are reward based. Cards that dont effect the race itself. Dare mods are things you can do yourself you dont need a card to race with damage on or have less power or worse brakes. Performance mods are basically a way of cheating and shouldnt be in the game.

If you're having trouble winning a race lower the difficulty, choose a better car, add assissts if you need them, learn to upgrade and tune the car yourself to be more competitive or and this is gonna sound crazy but, keep practicing and eventually youll get better at the game and wont need to do any of those things.

Its this kind of stuff that leads to the bad habits we see newer players holding on to. Instead of continuing to give players shortcuts and a false sense of accomplishment, maybe they should be teaching people how to race properly and how to actually win.

Skill points again hopefully, knocking down prices 10% was great.

Mod cards were probably there because you can't upgrade a car in career, but yeah I'm glad they've gone too.

I hope the Wheelspin is like Horizon 2 but with better rewards, on FM6 I got 2 million in the first day of playing. But level 20 on FM6 requires about 32,000 XP, level 220 on FH2 requires the same amount lol

The only Mod cards i would enjoy would be physics altering ones such as moon gravity, or the grass is quite literally lava. That would stop corner cutting...

i'm sure skill points/ perks are back. Considering they expanded pretty good in 2 this go around seems to have the theme of everything bigger, so I hope there's more. I wouldn't guess any wristbands either... maybe promotions? Interesting if they overhauled everything with perk stuff. Just love unlocking stuff

a playground area with moon gravity, lava pits would be pretty fun lol but I think would fill many peoples ears with steam. Those seem like pretty fun mod cards through Mitch.

Lol well there could be volcanoes and that, I'm hyped for the Surfer's Paradise to be honest. The screenshot downtown looks INSANE.

Yep mate, wristbands will be gone I am fairly sure. Didn't see them in cockpit view of the BMW M4 in the demo and you're actually the boss this time around. Maybe watches or something for customising.

I don't think XP boards are back as in a leaked video the map didn't show any :(
