One month on, here are my thoughts:
1988 McLaren #12 Honda McLaren MP4/4
The car I was initially most excited about, very fast and much easier to get a grip on than the Lotus E23. Unfortunately it's not as competitive as the Lotus on longer circuits but I don't do X/999 racing anyway so it doesn't matter.
1980 Lancia #31 Lancia Corse Beta Montecarlo Turbo
I've only driven this for an hour or so, in the R/800 Ghost league that showed up, but it was quick, fun and competitive. If I decide to put more time into R/800 racing (I specialise in B/600 cars) then this will be the first car I paint/tune.
2014 Maserati #35 M.Calamia Swiss Team MC Trofeo
Drove it once for the Rivals event and thought it was okay, but I don't see myself coming back to it when there are other more viable S/700 cars to choose from.
1977 Holden Torana A9X
Like the Datsun (below) this came to my attention via the Classic Compact League, and seems to be a competitive B/600 car on higher-speed tracks like Road America. I don't have a non-Daytona speed car yet for that class so I'll probably work on one of these at some point in the future.
1969 Datsun 2000 Roadster
This will probably end up being my most used car of the entire pack, as the Classic Compact league showed me how much potential it has. I've already downloaded a good tune for it that can hold its own at B/600 but once I get round to it I'll look to paint and tune my own. Fun little car that can be quite quick when you stick the Turbo Rally engine into it.
2014 Mazda #70 SpeedSource Lola B12/80
Haven't driven this at all as I rarely race P/998 to begin with and when I do I have a quick and stable Mazda 787B to make use of.
2000 Plymouth Prowler
Haven't gone near this one at all. I remember it being a quirky addition to the Gran Turismo series a while back but it doesn't particularly interest me here.
2015 Nissan #23 GT-R LM NISMO
I like what this car represents, and the lateral thinking that went into it. I also created a replica livery for the car which the team's Le Mans drivers seemed to enjoy on Instagram.
Unfortunately however it's not very competitive at P/998, usually several seconds a lap down on what I can do in the Mazda 787B. As such it's a neat car that will not get used.
