Two distinctly different styles but each are great! along with high-aperture shots, low-contrast shots are among my favorite styles and your second shot is just so simple yet perfect.

Thanks. I struggle with low contrast shots, and tend to shy away from them. It's very easy to go too low and have everything appear grey and flat (which, admittedly, isn't a problem when you're shooting a B&W photo of some misty forest). And I have my tv set up to show a bit more contrast than default (my own peference) so when I try them, sometimes it comes out a bit higher than I wanted. I will also admit that those two, and particularly the first one, took a fair bit of editing to reach the final product.

I'm still trying to decide what to do for my set today. It will probably have a lot of drifting shots though, I bought myself one of those kontrol freek joystick things shaped like a big U and so I can play now with sim steering on, having a great time having to do (slightly) more thinking about steering angles and throttle input while drifting. Maybe that will be the set actually, drifting

So I kind of abandoned the drifting idea after 1 shot because I'm not great with drifting shots, but I did get a couple in here still

Also, the subtle filter in this really makes this shot!

thanks! i feel like the filter in that one evokes those action scenes in older anime things. it's maybe a little weird having that effect on such a slow car (all I have done to it is an RWD swap and all the rally parts, plus roll cage. it's still fiarly stock otherwise)

for that jag shot, I got lucky that the car park in storm island's "town" area has such a nice ground texture. most of the road textures are very low-res and ruin shots like this

here's a preview of a set you can expect sometime over next week, if not sooner. i finally managed to save enough money for my goal car, and, now that i have it, i'm probably not driving anything else until i get forza 6. it should be a properly massive set

I also need one of those classic plates.

I got that from the storefront of JorgePinto, who is the media centre's resident plate master. I think the classic plate is still up there, along with the modern Italian plate that features in about 85% of all my photos (he also has done french and german plates, as well as GB plates new and old)

Thanks Lethal. Looking on it now, I should have aligned the front wheel more closely to the brake rotor. hindsight is 20/20 i guess.
Anyway, here's more GTO, plus a few bonus shots. i'll do more GTO work later today. As always, click through for large size. The compression artefacts are getting so much worse these days

Compression artefacts are the fuzz you get when you use a lossy compression format (such as jpeg). They're normally most common on images that are heavily red-saturated, but it seems that flickr has been getting worse and worse, when compressing my images after resizing them, to the point where almost every photo has them now
It's really bad in this image, in the centre of the palm trees on the left hand side:

I don't know where to start great set, that Ferrari is a truly beautiful car especially when you think that back then they were properly hand built! Your photos have captured that beauty! Great work I think I'll have to purchase the GTO myself now :)
