Not used anything else but the Pulsar is almost certainly the best choice for the trial, trial itself seems easy enough though I wouldn't know about the 3rd race since I got DC'ed midway through Mortimer Gardens.

Just classic FH4 though I guess.

You can do 3 of the 5 races from the Forzathon in the C class offroad championship, Better PG that is better.

Yay its winter time and I have a bit time to play :)
Nice and very easy trial, if you don't forget its winter and you need to put your wither tires on the car :)
Maybe my pick doesn't look as a winner at the start, as its kinda slow, but when it gets to bends ... it takes them full throttle and says bye to slidy cars.
So dirt racing in Japanese cars of B 700 and easy choice, 3x 1st for me and somehow 3:0 for team (someone quit on second to give us the win and we lost last one big time, but somehow got the win ...)
Subaru Impreza 22B, tune - 181 227 568

Trial quick and swiftly out of the way, lets move to solo championships and lets start with some cross country racing in A 800 super saloons ... erm ... well ok
Remember a trial and cars already used there, so easy pick
Alfa Romeo Giulia QV, tune - 129 973 624
or BMW 1 series M coupe, tune - 103 264 539

Next on the list is again cross country racing in C 600 offroaders and simply reuse last trials car that brought me all 3 wins there
Lambo LM 002, tune - 658 261 258

Last on the list is dirt racing in C 600 retro rally cars and it seems I can get away with running on stock tires and still have decent grip
Ford Racing Puma, tune - ... (tune shared, but can't get the code)

PR stunts as always Koenigsegg Agera RS, tune - 167 849 655 for speed trap and danger sign, used Hoonigan RS200, tune 428 155 751 for offroad speed zone.

Forzathon car ... well truck is Ford Ranger Raptor, tuned it to A 800 - (tune shared, but can't get the code), took it to the beach to collect those crash landings, use aerodrome ramps to get a barrel roll and just reused my short custom road race blueprint at Lakehurst forest sprint - 691 610 875

Finished with taking a pic of my GT-R

As always hope this can be of any use to someone, take care everyone and have fun, bb

PS
For some reason I can't get share codes for new tunes (both Fords), will update this post if I finally get them.

Retro Rally, C600, Dirt: Almost fell asleep, slow cars, too grippy, no fun.

Offroad, C600, CC: Choice between power or snow tires, not very fun with power build, no lateral grip whatsoever.

Super Saloons, A800, CC: Surprisingly good, if you pick a suitable car, I used the Volvo wagon, very good suspension.

Forzathon with Ranger Raptor, I don't need an excuse to drive this truck, it's great in pretty much every way, and it's not exclusive either, which is a bonus.

PR Stunts are a job for the champ Hoonigan RS200, it can clear all three, easily.

Photo Contest in my home, Bamburgh Castle, very easy. I took a pretty nice photo of my rally-built Z432.

Also did the Trial since they were offering an MR2. What a joke, too easy, those Drivatars are New Racer level, not Unbeatable. I ran an Evo IX with snow tires and not much else. Won 2 of 3 races by a large distance.

The car of the week is the GMC Typhoon. It's like the Syclone, but with some differences. The Syclone has wider rear tire options, but the Typhoon is heavier and can be built for more power while staying A800. Overall a good port, with some nice paint choices, including dual-color. The Syclone is more handling, the Typhoon is more straight line speed.

Did I hear "Super Saloons?" Is it time for me to break out the CC Limo again? I believe it is. lol

I saw that this week's Forzathon was a Raptor...and I thought I was good. But I had a 150 Raptor, not a Ranger Raptor. So if anyone is running around in their 'Raptor' and it's not registering, make sure you have the right one. I've seen them listed between $100-200k on the auction.

Oh, oops. lol Sorry for the bad advice.

That's happened before where I have seen stock autoshow cars being sold in the auction for way over price. Never understand that.

Hello,

Cars/tunes/suggestions for some of this weeks seasonal for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, unless otherwise noted, all shared by myself (or others). ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don't forget to leave a like.

Online:
**Trial: "Plus Ultra" | Dirt Racing | (B700) Japan
**Car used: 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5 (HTF)
**Tune: B700 Dirt / 138 611 791

As mentioned elsewhere above, the Trial (online) A.I. is certainly easy this week. Using something I feel not many others may try, yes it is rare, I think only offered two or three times (certainly twice, not sure on 3), the 1974 Corolla - worked much better than expected too. Ran it against offline/solo A.I. on clones of the Trial races, but for Ambleside, can gain 1st against unbeatable A.I. - with more practice Ambleside would/should be doable too. Car/tune lacks top-end vs. other options for this Trial, making the one sprint event the harder event for it, on the two circuit events I managed 1st by between 8~10 seconds, much more vs. closest A.I. Tune is AWD, supercharged, no bumpers, no aero, rally/snow tires.

**Seasonal Playground Games | Bamburgh Castle | (D500) Classic Rally
**Car used: 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 (Autoshow 73,000 Cr)
**Tune: D500 Road Rally / 948 043 878

Used this tune because it was ready to go, and didn't feel like making a Mini tune just for games - however turns out, just have most of your team arrive in stock untuned Minis, and you will win... What I noticed for all tuned cars in the event was they acted much the same, lack of power, no grip at times, bogged down in turns, trouble getting up some of the gradients, this includes for the one full tuned Mini I encountered, yes it was fast, but still suffering, hence untuned Mini is basically as good. Tune is RWD, no aero, lights, vintage tires.

PR Stunts:
- Croft Speed Zone, 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 - 'S900 Rally Trial' (680 307 281),
- Quarry Speed Trap, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - 'PR Stunt Rally' (120 633 544),
- Arthur's Seat Danger Sign, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - 'PR Stunt Rally' (120 633 544).

Enjoy.

@betinhogvz
Thank you for clearing that for me, didn't know if its just me or what.
Did read about messed up designs and such, but didn't realize that everything is in disarray.

On side note, I did compare my times for trial tracks in my Subby (stock vs snow tires) - first race can get more or less the same time, second circuit on snow tires gives at least 2 sec a lap faster time, last circuit snow tires give around 6.5 sec a lap advantage.

No kidding! Got bored yesterday so I kept buying Ranger Raptors from the autoshow for 58k and selling in the auction house for 110k buyout. After 4 or 5 I raised the price to 200k and they were still selling, so I raised the price to 300k and still they bought. Did some more before eventually getting bored, so I kept one to do some crash landings, find a spot to do a barrel roll then some races.

Fair play to you for taking advantage of it for some easy money.

It really is a poor reflection on the general FH4 player base though when they can't/won't think of something as simple as checking the autoshow.

Same here. So I had actually bought one through the Auction House before finding out (thank you, Jezza) that they are in the autoshow. So I checked the auction house and they were still listing high there. So I listed the one I bought, sold it for a profit then got one from the autoshow. So far have sold 12 Raptors through the auction house. When it doesn't sell, I'll do the challenge with it. lol

You can do that for any given single forzathon car. I made 2m Cr on Viper GTSs a few months ago. I’m not sure about double cars, like the M3/RS6 from last week. It was really fun when the Supra dropped. I might do the raptor tomorrow and make a few extra million.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Toyota MR2 95' and the Toyota Supra 92'. Both cars do very well at the Trial with the Supra being my favourite. Am going to give the Supra 98 a shot and see how that goes. Won consistently in both cars with only one championship where i came in 2nd twice and 1st once up against a Mazda MX5. Was a bit annoyed with that driver as they kept corner bombing me if i got ahead which slowed me down a fair bit, apart from that the speed on it was very quick. In the races i was in the Subby's didn't perform that well at all, maybe it was the drivers and their tunes, just seems they always finished back of the pack.

It’s quite an interesting trial because the first course is so different to the last two. The Regalia D should destroy everything else on tracks 2 and 3 but has no top end. The MX5 and Pulsar are very strong on track 1. I used the Mx5 and won all three by 10-20 seconds but think there would be better options.

Never realized the Regalia was Japanese! Of course it was, lol.

Personally I would recommend building for the last two tracks. The AI won't perform well in the snow, so if you have a car suited to the conditions you'll win easily, even with subpar build/car choice.

This solo was raced against "unbeatable" and not "expert", because I wanted to see how it worked, otherwise same settings as normal for solo championships.

Did someone say "Super Saloons"? Bring out the Caddy Limo time! As stupid as it may seem, this car/tune is a quite good and capable offroad machine, only requires adjust driving style to suit the length of Limo. Easy enough wins at all locations, car is especially good at the Gardens race. Tune is AWD, rally/snow tires, supercharged, no aero.
If you want more choices in your Limo, here are two further options (I did not use, but have no doubt they can win too) - no affiliations, beyond first is a fallow forum user, later is a youtuber (check their videos if you wish to see the Limo in use - and they were doubtful, so quite an honest reaction): "Dirt Track Date" (159 333 550) by IngoingCake8592 OR "The Trial" (169 235 039) by Waznewz (youtube).

**Championship: "Beginner's Truck" | Cross Country | (C600) Offroad
**Car used: 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor (Autoshow 58,000 Cr)
**Tune: C600 Offroad / 171 937 392

Combined this one with the weekly - using the 2019 Ford Ranger Raptor. Certainly not my first choice on this event - Ranger is a real underdog in C Class offroad. Even after giving it all the power I reasonably could, and going for as light as possible, this is a very under preforming truck (or my tune choices are just bad?) - very competitive/close wins. Tune is running stock tires with no aero.

**Championship: "Rally 'Round the Flag" | Dirt Racing | (C600) Retro Rally
**Car used: 1980 Renault 5 Turbo (Autoshow 120,000 Cr)
**Tune: C600 Dirt / 725 541 670

The opposite of the above Ranger - the non underdog in its class - Renault 5. First time trying it for C class, yet still it preforms great, very easy wins. Tune is running street tires, with rear Forza air, and AWD.

Have fun.

Yay, I got a mention. lol. Ok, so maybe I have issues, but I love my limos. I have four of them all set up differently, including one for drifting. But Dirt Track Date is my favorite. Thanks for the shout out.

The Trial - So I ran this with quite a few vehicles just for fun. The three tracks are pretty different from each other. The first is nearly all speed while the last is total control. So I started with a tune I had for the Datsun 510. It simply lacked the speed to do well on the first track. Once it got to the gravel/dirt section, I gained spots up into 6th, but overall not a good match. Second track did well placing 3rd fighting through from the back. Third track, Ambleside, it destroyed. lol. I was about half a track length ahead by the end. Ended up blanking most of the field with oddly enough a single AI right behind me. Also ran the 1990 Nissan Pulsar and the 1990 Mazda RX-7. Both did well. Pulsar had better traction, RX-7 had better speed. But the best for me was the 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5. I feel it could have a little more top end, but it out accelerated everyone and when it did hit it's peak, it took the turns flat out and kept everyone far behind. Blanked half the field on the second track and won at Ambleside but not as much grip as the Datsun. Gonna retune the Datsun to see if I get get some speed out of it.

PGG - Ran a 1973 Ford Escort RS1600 because I had it tuned already...didn't realize it was RWD. Soooo not recommended lol. Nearly everyone was a 77 Escort. Two Fulvias were also in it. So, kinda boring. Still won and that was with two untuned Escorts on my side.

Last Chance Saloon - So in keeping to my word, I will choose the Limo every event they have for Super Saloons. It just tracks really well, holds a great rally-style powerslide through the tight gravel turns and has a good feel to it. It's a lot of fun.
2013 Cadillac XTS Limo Tune: 159 333 550

Rally 'Round the Flag - I just now realized I never saved my C600 tune for the 1990 Nissan Pulsar GTI-R. It did really well, decent speed, great control. Then I modded it up to 700 for the Trial and forgot to save the 600 version.

Beginner's Truck - So I was looking at either a Jeep, the Scout, or a Hummer (might still do) and then saw the low PI Range Rover. It pulls a little slow at the start but then builds and holds it. It is a little tight in the suspension, it favors more a dirt track than open CC but it still did well enough. Even outran a wild Velociraptor that made its way into the series. lol.
1973 Land Rover Range Rover Tune: CC winner

PR Stunts - all three Someone mentioned doing all three with the RS200, and since the speed zone was def calling for it, decided to use it for all of them. The Danger Sign needs as much run up as you can give it though.

I'm getting really tired of doing the trial. So much deadweight out there. I don't mind carrying, I really don't. But FAR to often we lose because the rest of my team couldn't beat a single AI, or they spend all of each race trying their absolute best to sabotage other teammates. Sometimes both!

Barely scraped a win this time, in spite of my teammates absolute best efforts to lose by any means necessary. Maybe it's time to rethink the trial's spot in the playlist. It's clear the majority of players are not mature enough to play it, and there comes a point where I don't want to help people who actively and willfully pursue making my day worse.

I'm generally a cheerful and friendly person, but there are moments where I'm tempted to either throw races or retaliate, because these people don't deserve the reward at the end. Trying and failing I can tolerate. It's the people who show up with 609 rated cars expecting to be carried and/or just corner bomb and try (most often in vain) to run teammates off the road I want to punish.

If removing the Trial is not an option, how about ghosting teammate collisions? I doubt that will get the message through to these incredibly thick skulled people. but it would ease the pain and frustration of clicking on it, and will allow me to carry these idiots a little easier when I don't have to adjust my driving to avoid being rammed constantly.

To be clear: I'm not talking about jostling for positioning. Love taps and incidental contact are A-OK in my book. I've had Trials with good drivers where, once the first two rounds are done and won, things get a little rougher as we try to determine who is truly best. Cheers and I am so down for that.

+1 for that.

I call those players you mentioned with the low PI cars leeches, their car choice is usually evident of the effort they'll put in.

As for those who cause nothing but trouble I just can't put myself in the minds of these people, why would you buy a game in any genre that you have no intention of playing properly?

Then again as revealed a few posts up parts of the player base can't do something as simple as check the Autoshow, something that's right in front of them every single time they get into the game after it's loaded so perhaps I'm the daft one for still being surprised.

Should've been day 1 feature. The game was originally entirely designed around co-op play, but there was never much interest in it.

The Trial is actually a good mode, far better than things added later such as the Eliminator, but, like you said, the community just doesn't accept it.

Do people still find the trial difficult to win? The only trials I can recall in the last year or so where my teams have lost more than 50% of trials are S2 street (but, in reality, the bugged game still usually gives you the win) and buggies cross country. Otherwise, whilst the overall standard of person entering the trial is relatively poor, it feels the drivatars are also pretty dumbed down. My team wasn’t great this week but they still easily got enough supporting points to win all three races comfortably. I never struggle to get full teams either, so I guess it remains fairly popular.
