what is the maximum level of play ? It stopped at 46 and it doesn't increase anymore. I'm still playing, but for a long time the game hasn't increased above 46. I tried reinstalling and refreshing the game, but it doesn't help.

I'm guessing you're talking about your garage tier level - I'm currently level 45 owning at least one copy of every car in the game. You can get higher tier level scores for purchasing the cars from the specialist dealer, which could push you higher than I am - I'm about 700ish points short of level 46 but never worried too much about that as it's a pretty meaningless level to be fair.

My driver level is 1264, which sounds pretty impressive but it puts me 17th on my friends list with the top friend on driver level 5858. Not sure how meaningful this level is either but it could indicate just how much time someone has spent playing the game - so if time is any indicator of talent (or dedication at least) the higher the level, you could read in to that, at least some proficiency in the game. I have friends I know to be quick guys who are lower driver level than me, who just haven't played FM7 as much, conversely some of the guys who are higher than me - I can usually beat (in rivals at least) if I set my mind to it.

It looks like it's on film. Some competition won, the prize money, before race 46, exceeds this value and still is 46.

That's not your 'driver level' it is your garage level. You see it increase on that screen, when you select a car not already owned, that has a collector score attached to it. So once you've collected all the cars, it doesn't increase any longer. As I mentioned, I'm level 45 and own at least one of every car.

Cars sold by the specialist dealer have a slightly higher collector score, so it is possible to raise it beyond that level by buying cars you already own from the autoshow or race wins, from the specialist dealer, you could then sell the ordinary version from your garage if you needed space.

Leetorts mentions Level 47 is possible and could well be - but it doesn't make you any quicker, it could mean you've managed your car collection a little better perhaps than the next guy but it's not representative of anything else.

Yes, 47 is possible (it's my current collector level, and coincidentally almost my age :)). There is some post somewhere here in the forums with a complete list of cars found in the speciality dealer which have a higher collector score. I'm still missing 2 cars that I will never be able to get (at least easily, being from France) : the 2 Paganis Totino's edition. And, you are absolutely right : doesn't make you any quicker. Just goes well with my OCD of collecting :)
