AI did it's full showcase of behaviour in this week's trial, fine the 1st race, 1 was uncatchable 2nd race and it decided to copy half my team in the 3rd race and be all over the place.

Used the RS200 from a previous championship/trial but I think it must have been a dirt one, car was very twitchy and not suited well to CC, 3 2nd places with another RS200 user winning 2 of the races so I'd recommend it as long as it has a proper tuning setup for CC.

Worst trial ever!!!!
Bad cars, bad players, drivatars too strong.
There is only one competitive car (Ford Capri FE) but only few players have it.
I won all the races with my Capri but unfortunately other players were in the last places.

Nice little trick you can do with the X raid challenge, first 3 roo skills following by awesome skill chain in the same skill chain is doable

There was 1 for 80% last season too, seems to be something they've quietly added in, nice bonus for a lot of players.

Really bad car for that trial, enough with the cross country, it the trial all the TIme now, PLAYGROUND - FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME PEOPLE DO NOT ACT AS A TEAM STOP PUTTING GARBAGE. Those are dirt cars not cross country.

Have to agree with the others, Rally Monsters on Cross Country is simply not enjoyable - it's like watching a spider on a hotplate, they are simply too hard to control, while the AI just rockets off like it's tarmac.

^This too.

Terrible trial event, I assume class and race is somehow auto randomly picked, but does anyone actually check how it runs? Known issue with the A.I. on dirt and cross country, known bugs with A.I and objects, and water, both of these issues ramp the difficulty up for players as there is no way to match what the A.I. do. Yes, it is possible to tune and out accelerate, out corner the A.I., at times, but one mistake and you usual can not recover the time lost, meanwhile the A.I. make up for mistakes by .. going faster. Add server lag plus network lag, and it is fun for all.

'Fun' A.I. events in my multiple tries:-
~ first circuit race, pushed off the second ramp into the town, land in the creek right at the end, U-turn is only option, rewind repeatably places me mid-air to land in the same place,
~ same place A.I. bumps me and somehow makes me come to a complete stop on lip of ramp, fall-off upside down in creek, reset places me at bottom of ramp, all attempts to drive off ramp lack speed so I fall right back in, upside, repeat,
~ A.I lands on my roof, speeds off as if some in sort of Fast and Furious movie series, meanwhile my car is uncontrollable, spins out, now backwards, miss the next check point,
~ I have the misfortune to land on the A.I. (some how it passes under me in the air, from behind), I am catapulted off the track, miss check point (no special Fast and Furious movie series stunt moves for me apparently),
~ tapped by A.I., tapped again, followed by the pit maneuver by the A.I., and to make sure I don't regain control A.I. behind them T-bones me off the track.
~ and so on.

Not impressed.

And so, my tune/car for the trial. That is to say this is what worked for me, it may not for you, race event is too unpredictable.

**Trial: "What's That Coming Over the Hill?" | Cross Country | (S1 900) Rally Monsters
**Car used: 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 (Autoshow 300,000 Cr)
**Tune: Autumn CC Trial / 108 419 236

There are two tunes for this car at S1 900 on my profile, they appear the same, they are not, although difference is minor (the other should work, but is harder to control for rainy cross country). This one is running max aero, and has very slightly more ground clearance (was helpful). This will beat the trial A.I., can place in a podium position, however you will need luck, and skills (this race event as mention above is like a spider on a hotplate), car is controllable but right at the edge of control in these events at any real speed.

Best of luck!

Well adding the Megan to the shop made doing the Eliminator absolutely pointless. Why do PG keep doing this? add a New car to a new feature, forcing people to play a feature, then later give it to ppl in the shop? Bug the hell out of me when PG do this sort of thing. It's a big slap in the face to those that spent hours playing Eliminator to get the Megane, only for them to gift wrap it to everyone whos not months later. It's not even the hardest car to get via the eliminator either. STOP DOING THIS PG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With all due respect, that's not 100% correct!

You forgot about the beast, "1984 Opel Manta 400"!

Killed the first race several times without question, while team members always seem to end up taking the last 5 places in their Hoonigan Fiestas, GRC, 6R4 etc! :(

I've only tried the second a few times to about the 25% mark as team members were trailing again and my views on flogging dead horses are well known, so quit!

On my last attempt, during the first race , I was in 1st place from the start of the second lap and all my team mates were occupying the last 5 places....again from early in the race, so I pulled up near the end of the final lap and gave each one of them a goodbye honk as they wet past in 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th places, before quitting. LOL

Got to agree though, the Capri FE is the best car if you've got it and can control it as it is a handful!

When I jumped the windmill in the second race, I was a bit too left and overshot the checkpoint, so quickly turned round so it registered, but it was too late the race was over before it was half way.

I seriously hate this Trial!

Well....that was the most broken/glitched trial I’ve done since launch.

Never mind the force fields around the drivatars. Never mind the fact the drivatars don’t slow down in water. The first race my team won every time....even though we lost half of them...lol

The second race was all team losses until my 6th attempt at the trial.

The third race decided to have a glitched checkpoint....that restarts you past the checkpoint over and over and over and over and over. *shakes head*

Lost the trial 5 straight times. This has never happened to me....not once. I used the hoonigan RS200 for the first 5 attempts. Switched to the Capri FE and....sure enough....won the trial....despite the fact every teammate AND drivatar was trying to ram me off the track...probably due to jealousy over the Capri.
I buy, upgrade and tune cars to the max. That's what I live for in Forza. I'm always in the need for more cars. Check out my custom routes in Horizon 4! https://forums.forzamoto...routes.aspx#post_1133141

I'm on about my 7th and still no overall win. My team won the first race for a change though. Yey! Then lost the second and third! :(

Over 10 attempts and I officially hate this god forsaken Trial!

Pretty beefy trial this time. I even had to step back the first time in my horizon playlist history and take a break.

But I never give up. Lets get back into it and yolo it! :D

Haven’t tried the Trial yet but it looks like another annoying one. Yay.

So far I’ve used the 599xx for the speed trap and the RS200 Hoonigan for the speed zone and the jump.

The weekly was easy... just head over by Bamburgh castle and you can nail the Kangaroo skills easily and then you should just about immediately get the skill chain. I had that knocked out from start to finish in like 15 minutes.

For the hot hatch A600 race I used the Mk2 Golf GTI with WeiShaoXu699’s tune and it absolutely blew the competition away, I probably had the biggest margin of victory in a weekly in months with this car.

Make sure to buy the Mégane so you bypass Eliminator requirement.

I've driven the Puma in the Rivals event. One of the better slow cars in the game. IIRC the seats are uncolored (should be blue fabric in the middle), and the sound is the same from the Fiesta (and Focus, Mini, new Alpine, and counting...), but it's a good car.

With regards to Trial, Capri FE is the only car with offroad tires, so it's very OP.

If you don't like the Trial, don't do it? Anyone who has been playing the game a while doesn't need any of:
- the reward for the Trial
- the reward for playlist 50% or 80% this week
- the reward for playlist 50% or 80% this month
In fact all any of those things will do is create a garage maintenance chore by giving you more duplicate cars that you don't have space for.

So just don't do it and do whatever you do enjoy in the game instead!

Pretty much. It's no different than minmaxing for an offline championship, difference is bragging rights if you win often.

There have been S1900 Rally Monsters Cross Country since the game's release, everyone hates it, because it sucks. Playground knows about it (or at least should, lol), but they keep making these championships. Don't like it? "Vote" with your time and don't play it, or play the least possible. Simple.

The only good Rally Monsters at CC are the 959 Rally Raid and the Subarus, but definitely not at S1900! Only at A800 and Eliminator.

The Hoonigan RS200 is capable of winning the trial, I was on the winning team just now (4th or 5th attempt, not sure), I was first in the Hoonigan RS200 for the first two races, using Jvvyy’s Mudkickers tune.

Holy **** this trial, hope to never do it again ... ever.
First try - I get pushed out of checkpoint by drivatar forcefield, or by their all over the place flight on all 3 races, we lost 3:0
Second try, again pushed out of checkpoint by forcefield on first race, most quit, get massively pushed out of checkpoint by player ... quit and cool off
Third try, 2nd on first race, 1st on second and 6th on last one, where I got turned 90° by divatar or something. Won the trial 2:1
Trial: S1 900 Hoonigan RS200, tune - 545 011 302
or Opel Manta, tune - 697 565 946

So Jaaaag, could just take F-Pace S and be done with it, as SUV rocks in FH4, but took a normal car, put some better tires and suspension on it and went for it.
A 800 Jaguar XKR-S, tune - 131 766 346
or offroad Jaguar F-Pace S, with DJS tune

AWD all day championship, could take anything really, but I love DD trucks:
A 800 Ford F-150 Prerunner DD - tune - 171 071 708
or Jeep Wrangler Unlimited DD - tune - 824 909 208

Retro hot hatch from 90's ... personally don't like VW, maybe could go with Clio, ... but went for Prelude with stock tires, alternative is rally tired Fiesta
C 600 Honda Prelude SI, tune - 528 746 659
or Ford Fiesta XR2, tune - 146 288 640

Forzathon Mini X-Raid .... tuned it to A 800, tune 139 891 325 (basically a DJS setup, but I can play with suspension), went to the beach for kangaroo skills and ultimate skill chains and used custom route at City Outskirts Cross country share code - 564 616 433

Stunts were easy, danger sign and speed trap done with offroad tuned Agera RS and speed zone done with S2 tuned Hoonigan RS200.

Good luck everyone

Edit
Sorry I messed up 90's hot hatch, which Fiesta isn't (being from 80's ...)
After playing around for a bit with rally tires on random cars, I realized its pointless, stock tires work just fine.
So here is me biting my tong C 600 VW Golf GTI MK2, tune - 964 252 327

Also an alternative, that can be bought from salon for AWD championship, since I listed only exclusive models.
AWD extreme offroad A 800 Ford #11 Rockstar F-150 Trophy truck, tune - 680 389 050

Think that’s an S2 tune FN. Suspect you are actually using Ang3lr1pp3r’s tune for S1? I may not have all the numbers in the right place in his name there. Nice driving earlier by the way - we nearly dragged that team to the win 👍.

I’m going to run the trial a few times now if anyone wants to convoy?
