yep, true. but that one time hitting it perfectly flat out at~240mph is a real rush.

there seems to be a nice smooth line through there if you get lucky enough. else you're into the sand or the inside kerb will pull you off too

Monza in these cars lived up to it's reputation as the temple of speed. Much too fast for me, but many of you clearly enjoyed it. The 2 Porsche #17s were dominant, with the extra 5mm of rear tyre giving the AG 962C the edge. Tuning the car to take turn 1 flat out proved tricky, and the Vanquish setup was very popular.

We ended the week with 30 drivers, a new WR, and 9 drivers in the top 20. Amazing! Welcome back RamenRoodles, who clearly enjoys running at high speed LOL. Thanks to all for joining in the fun.

THR Rich showed his class to claim the win, setting a new WR time in the process. The podium places went to xAlea Jacta Est, and minsons who both finished in the top 10. Congratulations to you all.

Here is a snapshot of the final standings:

Congratulations to our winners:

Tier 1 Winner: THR Rich wins a paint for his 1987 Porsche #17 AG 962C.

Tier 2 Winner: razzitGT wins a paint for his 1987 Porsche #17 AG 962C.

Tier 3 Winner: Wan Ge 1 wins a paint for his 1987 Porsche #17 AG 962C.

Tuners Prize: HLR PRKid wins a paint for his 1987 Porsche #17 AG 962C.

To claim your paints, message HLR Moss to arrange it's sharing whilst you are waiting in the car to download. We don't want anyone else to grab them. They are each personalised for the winner and hopefully will provide you with a memory of the event.

For our next challenge we are off to Spain to drive some track toys. We hope you enjoy the combination!

You can say that again. This week was pretty much a spec racing series. Only two weirdos ran anything else, and I never got beyond testing the stock car.

Not sure if I'll get much more time this week. I like Catalunya, but I doubt the cars I like from the division (the two street-spec Elises and the 2-Eleven) are going to make the transition to S800 with any sort of grace. Probably end up in a 2-Eleven, but I'll try the S1 Elise first.

Gonna call it quits on this one. Spent the better part of two sessions trying to do something useful with the aforementioned Lotuses and it just wasn't happening. S800 is way above what I feel their performance ceiling should be. Actually had better luck with the 190 than I did the 2-Eleven, but strapping 350 horsepower into a car with the weight and wheelbase of a rollerskate is still a terribad idea any way you look at it.

Will try and run a few more laps if i remember before it's finish, only had a quick 10 minute session so just went with the fastest time on the leaderboard, and just used that car/tune, plenty of time i can make up just from the first sector alone .

I enjoyed this event much more than expected. It turned into a shootout between two of the lightweights in the Division, the Lotus 340R, and the Donkervoort., with the heavier, but more agile Lotus coming on top.

With over 7000 drivers, and some quality drivers near the top, it was always going to be difficult to break into the top 10. HLR Bubba managed it with an excellent drive in a Lotus 340R, with minsons, and PTG Benny following close behind in the podium spots.

With only 21 drivers taking to the track, it was good to see them evenly split across the 3 tiers. F4R Vanquish led the way in tier 2 driving the Lightning tuned Donkervoort, whilst StreetTalon4g63 claimed the win in tier 3 in the same car. Congratulations to you all.

I decided to try something a little different for this week's prize liveries since the track logo is very plain. Inspiration came from President Trump's new Space Force, lol.

Here is a snapshot of the final standings:

Congratulations to our winners:

Tier 1 Winner: HLR Bubba wins a paint for his 2000 Lotus 340R.

Tier 2 Winner: F4R Vanquish wins a paint for his 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO.

Tier 3 Winner: StreetTalon4g63 wins a paint for his 2013 Donkervoort D8 GTO.

Tuners Prize: HLR PRKid wins a paint for his 2000 Lotus 340R.

Sounds like an equitable pairing of division and track, even if neither really hold much interest for me. On paper that Sesto Elemento is a pretty slick ride, but I refuse to be seen in a Lamborghini (digitally, at least; I'm too poor to be allowed within ten yards of one in real life, let alone in one). Might give a Pagani a shot; I hated the Zonda in GT4, but that was 15 years ago and all the supercars in GT4 understeered like pigs. Backups are the Porsche and Burnin's Aston Martin.

==

Edit to add:

Yeah, Pagani. Zonda Cinque. It's naturally aspirated, fairly lightweight, and has a fair amount of personality on the slower corners. Turned a 1:50.2xx with a tuned stock setup. Adding front aero (car's already fugly; in for a dime, in for a dollar) and some wider front tires brought that down to an easy 1:48.xxx. Still on stock tire compound, and still haven't added tunable suspension, transmission, or differential yet. Not sure I will, honestly. The car's pretty well sorted right out of the box, and I suspect anything I'd do to it would make it worse. Will eventually move to race rubber, but that may be as far as I take it.

Also tried the Sesto Elemento (herky-jerky suspension and horrid binary over/understeer) and the Aston Martin (very easy to drive, but not very inspiring), but wasn't struck by either. The Aston's probably faster than the Cinque, but fast has never been my primary concern.

==

Edit to add 2:

What do you guys have against chicanes? Every time we've run a track that has a with/without option we run the without version. Did they beat you up and steal your lunch money or something?

.
Our first option was WGF (with the Bus Stop), yet, one of our Drivers had already raced a very decent time in an Elise (outside the DIv). We try our best to grab Track/Div combo's that can allow the majority of our Drivers to participate. If, the time was poor and/or Dirty, then, would have been an easy call to use Watkins Glen Full (and, not the Alternate version).
