The simplest solution is to not allow people to team up if difference between their ranks is let's say ten (10) or more leagues. This way you wouldn't have Grandmasters teaming up with league 20 drivers and lower their teams average score.

This has been happening to me a lot lately with Team Games, I keep getting put against the same 6 players and keep getting thrashed, and my rank is being decimated. Now I don't much care about the rank in this mode but the point is that you used to be able to have some really good close fun matches (more so than in unranked, often) but this team who are gaming the system are just spoiling it for everyone.

Two of them quit right before the end so they stay at a bad rank on purpose.

I hope PG are listening and will do something.

FH has some kind of rule to disregard level of players.
The loss of points is just out of control in ranked mode and so is the CS leaving strategy. This mode is just no fun to me.
My only advice, get some club, race with mates, you will have no intentional ramming, you will win and get congrats loose and give some.

They need to do queue only with the lowest level. So if you pull in a low level with you, you race low level so even if you win you get nothing at high level.

The other option I was thinking was having a server tracking where every dc/quit also earns you a modifier, and that modifier carries to others in your team. So if you are constantly quitting, then you have a penalty build up. So if you got two people with bad penalties in your convoy, then you get absolutely nothing if you win, but still get hit with the same losses. Those with the penalties need to pay it back before they can start earning points again. It also means that intentional quitting is no longer good because you will get the penalty indirectly. People gaming the system is why the points hits start getting so bad. Don't do that and then it will balance out as you hit your ideal rank.

Essentially have it so if you quit or DC, you get a minor fine. But that continually builds and will get more severe over time.

If you are somebody prone to disconnect? Well.... then might need to keep out of ranked if your connection isn't stable, especially if it is hurting the experience of others.

Yep it kept happening to me. As a GM I lost like 40 points in 2 rooms and my buddy lost about 300 against those same guys in the same 2 rooms. I went back to FFA, try to get that one up to GM. I finished 2nd by 2 points yesterday and 15 points got taken. Ruined my day so I was done...too frustrating

Sorry to hear, DaReoCharmer. The point structure for Ranked was not well thought out.

The point system has been improved but its still not fair. You still lose alot and gain very little, it is what it is. Some days I'm in the mood to fight through it and get those points back right away but days like yesterday, didnt have the energy to keep going

May be of interest, I just saw this about how another game treats players who abuse the quit function:

Quote:
Gears 5 has several multiplayer modes where teamwork plays a key factor. Being just one player down puts a team at a significant disadvantage. The Coalition is now trying to stamp out "rampant quitters" by handing out heavy suspensions — some being almost two years long.

I LOVE IT!!! 2 years might be a bit harsh BUT T10 definitely needs something like this to preserve ranked. I havent played in a few days and I really dont miss it. I love the game but I dont wanna be robbed of my rank.

imho, just loosing the very point you earned the last time you won when quitting would be enough. Same for loosing a CS, loss should not exceed the number of points you won at the last CS you won.
Simple, does not hit hard when disconnected bcz of network or server issue, less frustration when you come to loose a cs ...

If anyone sees some side effects some would use to cheat, I am interested to read it.

I have had it with the last racers quitting in a close race so their team can win. In ANY ranked racing, if someone quits, they should be listed as dnf in the last position and the opposing team given the points they deserved for beating them. This is happening more and more as of late. Does not surprise me to see 3 peeps quit to allow their team to win. It is totally unfair, and should be dealt with as I suggested. This is an exploit that should be addressed. The ones that quit should be heavily penalized rank points as well.

I stay until the end of the racing series even if I know my team is bound to lose. I know this is an arcade racing game, so the pushing and shoving off track is part of it, quitting for a team win is not. I certainly hope the dev's change this exploit. I have lost at least as many (if not more) rank points, from this happening, as points fairly lost by being on random "not so hot" teams. I do not mind losing a fair race, it's part of the game.

If ya quit, ya should be dnf in the VERY last positions!!!!!

I absolutely agree. We've been discussing this on this forum and reddit for months now, but we're yet to get any response from community manager(s)/developers.

The way things are right now, you're essentially getting punished for something that's completely out of your control. I don't understand why they couldn't apply this change only to Trials and leave it out of ranked team adventures, it only made things a whole lot worse for all those who just want normal and fair races.

Not to mention that people who drop to league 20 in order to boost their team mates are losing games on purpose and ruining adventures for at least five of their team mates and that should really not be allowed. But the fact that not a single "booster" got banned or Grandmaster stripped of their rewards after two months is really sad and goes to show that Turn10 just doesn't care.

Fingers crossed that we get some news on this matter on Monday and hopefully some changes in the next update. I've had the same hopes two months ago and last month as well, but I'm not losing hope and I expect they'll do the right thing and admit they screwed up and revert that scoring change because it's not doing anything but allow people to abuse it. Besides, the number of people who are quitting ranked adventures is insane, if you could join ranked adventure in progress it would be exactly like unranked with people joining and leaving after every race. Way too often I'll end the adventure with only five players even though we had all twelve at start of the first race. :(

I just stumbled upon the relevant article (https://support.forzamotorsport.net/hc/en-us/articles/360025519914-Ranked-Online-Scoring) and honestly, the part where he talks about having less players is dead wrong. The team with less players does have an advantage.

While you're less likely to come first, you're also less likely to come last. Not placing last is where it really matters and where the most "scoring weight" is placed. For example, in a 3 vs 6, a 3 team in the middle of the pack will have a higher average score as the 6 team will have a bunch of last place 0's that drag their score down.

I just made the big mistake of trying ranked playground games again. Straight away I could tell it was another bunch of cheaters and so it proved, but I had to endure the entire round so I wouldn't get my rank destroyed. I still lost 43 points though. The people doing this should be given Xbox Live bans and then they'll get the message it's not acceptable.

So you're doing ranked games? I do it once a month only and I run. I wont touch race teams for a while. I'll stay around 4900 so I can get GM rewards. I'm kind of trying to get up there in FFA but the jumps in cross country are making me quit. Once you get stuck in the earth, its like missing 2 checkpoints. I dont understand how this issue came up to 9 months after release. Anytime in those first 9 months it never happened

I haven't played much ranked at all this month, been playing lots of unranked and enjoying it, but would prefer to play ranked if it works. Unfortunately the loophole is still being ruthlessly exploited by unscrupulous players who are happy to spoil other people's fun and waste their time and energy, for their own benefit.

I am looking at doing the ranked adventures purely to complete the Star card ... drift adventure done...
I like drifting but really don't enjoy this mode...

Now doing FFA .. not too worried about finishing low down... just tick off the 10 events to rank ... it has shown weaknesses in my car line up ...like "s1 cross country"

really not looking forward to the playground games ranked adventure ... I don't generally bother with the playground games in the festival playlist ...
