As far as I believed Horizon was where car cultures came together in an open world. Although it is not racing based it was car culture based. (drifting, drag racing, cruising, modifying, custom painting).
The only argument so far that FH was not realistic is the fact we have PR stunts that require long 900ft jumps, don't forget Evel Knievel had been doing that sort of thing as have many stunt drivers since the 60`s in regular cars.
"The longest ramp jump, with the vehicle landing on its wheels and driving on, is 237 ft (72.23 m) by Ray Baumann (Australia) in a Chrysler VH Valiant at Ravenswood International Raceway, Perth, Western Australia, on August 23 1998."
FH has always had a very serious racing side to it, just look back at all the whining about clean racing, wall riding & the likes. Also look back at all the whining about dashboard needles being the wrong colour, exhaust sounds not being quite right etc etc.... this game has never been considered a non serious toy game to release such **** .
Lego belonged in its own game on its own shelf in the kids section, far far far away from the car racing games.
Just remember what they did in FH3, released hot wheels toy cars and those same cars littered Motorsport 7, what makes you think they wont add the Lego cars to Motorsport 8.
The argument is not based on if I want to be a kid for a bit of fun and do something different for a short time, the argument is once the fun is over we cannot go back to being serious - this changes the main game from this point on to a kids game as far as I am concerned.
If it didn't change the main game to something I wouldn't have purchased and Lego was in Lego land only I wouldn't care at all if it existed here.
