Hi. I just compared RTR cars in Horizon and Motorsport and it's not so fun to play on controller with M7. Is it even possible? In Horizon I can do full wheel lock and maintain gas only which is much more realistic. But in Motorsport I switch between wheel full lock and no lock all the time. It doesn't make any sense and is no fun. Drift should be smooth and wheel too. I know it's hard to do it on a controller but is it possible in M7? Or "switching" is the only option? Maybe my thumb is not ready yet but easier drifting in Horizon feels much better.

i get what you're saying, i jumped on FM7 for the first time last night after mastering FH4 and it's not easy thats for sure, i got a handle on it pretty quick but
i can see where others wouldn't

I know your videos from Horizon 4! You are good ;) Can you drift in M7 smoothly? My problem is when I do counter steer I need to center it immediately after and the again counter steer and then centering again. It's not fun and in H4 I can hold counter steer on controller and tune gas only. It's like some lag in M7 and some helper so I never know about my actual angle.

You can hold the stick countersteered in drift in FM7. Your tune has to be good and you have to make the right moves at the right times.

I uninstalled FM7 about a month ago, and FH4 last week. I'm back to CarX again (though, I mod the game files a bit to get the dampers how I like them--the default tuning options are limited).

Thanks for the invitation! I don't drift too much recently, no time. You drift with 3rd person cam so you can see the wheels a bit. I use cockpit and bumper cam and then it's hard to know what is my angle.

Thanks, good to know. I am new to drifting but it works fine in Horizon 4. It has some helper probably but gameplay is good. I remember I tried to lower the angle in M7 but then I had a problem with critical situations :D Maybe my thumb is not ready yet.

What cam did you use?

Yellow car - 800hp, typical current "pro" drift setup and driving--rolling burnouts everywhere--Forza's FFB and controller steering are more or less comfortable with this

Red car - 400hp, traditional setup and driving--normal drifting--Totally beyond Forza's comprehension--this is the style of driving that will result in the unpredictable snap-back spins on controller you mentioned

Do you find the 180-degree in-car wheel limit disorienting?

its super annoying, it needs to be 540 or 720, with a setting to adjust how fast it turns on and off the wheel, almost like a dead zone.

i try to keep the wheel in the correct position cause im OCD but it ruins the drifting at the same time

I've had a few wheel drifters say I'm pretty smooth for being on controller, it just takes a tune (I like mine a lot stiffer than most because it makes it seem more smooth) and just a ton of practice on small movements

OK, thanks. I am new to drifting so it's possible it will be better. Fine and fast moves are pretty tricky with a thumb. But I can do it relatively good in Horizon.

They don't respect weight in motion. They don't respect the future. The current solution? Kill physics responses we weren't prepared for by literally nullifying the angular moment at the CG.

I used controller all way from FM1 to 6 and Horizon 1 & 2. You just have to tune them right because the controllers vs wheels is far apart due to things like auto centering on the sticks, for over a decade I was always asked if I was on a wheel or controllers.

I've been drifting with controller since Motorsport 3, I remember drifting my Rb swapped Z32. It was "classic" drifting no extreme camber or angle . The difference between the two game is simulation vs arcade. The physics of Motorsport is that of real life handling, Gas,Brake , steering with zero timing assists.

I feel FM7 is easier TBH. been on a roller since FM3. lmk if you want help with tuning, but it mostly comes down to practice.

I revisited Motorsport 7 again and it's clearly broken to me. There is some artificial lag. I can switch from Horizon to Gran turismo sport and drift the same but I can't switch to Motorport 7 :D Physics in Horizon is pretty good so I don't think it's the problem.

I am not sure but have a problem with the lag. You can't correct bigger slides because you don't know what is your wheel position. It was much worse in M5 while drifting. I can drift the best in M7 because of improvements but still it's unplayable. It's strange.
