when i upgraded to the xb1 years ago i kept my old 360 connected because i still play fm2 and fm3 from time to time. still have some achievements to complete on those titles. fm4 is already completed is no need for it on my terms.

I've just bought an used 360 for the same reason, after the one I had burned a couple years ago during a very hot summer.
I've only the bucket list to complete and I can't wait for BC on my new One X (which I bought just for the bundle FM7+FH4)

You actually described the process I followed back in 2007 for Forza Motorsport 2.
I only added a further step 3. Buy an HD TV, which I bought two weeks before the Xbox, after convincing my wife that we needed to make a technological leap and bla bla ...
In reality I only wanted to play FM2 at its best and after I got the TV I could unhide the console from the basement.

I did the same thing, bought the 360, just for Forza.

Question for the #BringBackFM4 crowd; what specifically is it about that game that you want in order for it to be on your Backwards Compatibility wishlist?

If it's something to do with features or game design, wouldn't be better if those things are implemented into Forza Motorsport 7?

Why would i want to play either FM3/4 on the X1 with all of its technical issues? Menu lag, dodgy controller vibration, texture loading issues to name but a few. For FM7 Turn10 listened to the players and brought back a lot of content and features from FM4 knowing that it is the 'holy grail' amongst long time players.

They have subsequently junked some of the naff features that 7 launched with and fixed it the best they can. Then to get the long time playerbase back onside and re-establish their good reputation they are working on improving some of the core elements of the game which is a win-win. What we are left with is a decent game let down by an over emphasis on graphics, terrible user interface, insanely long loading times and an inability to multi task sufficiently well - a useful description of the console it runs on

The only way to truly bring back FM4 is for enough people to fire up their 360's and make use of the fact that unlike say older GTurismo games the servers are still working on FM2/3/4. So for the moment the future of FM4 is in our hands - I just need a new contoller in mine because the third party ones don't last long

I definitely agree with everything you said this game needs to come to backwards compatibility so far for so have been killing themselves hopefully they will finally stop killing himself and make this game backwards compatibility

Hate to burst the bubble here, this is tied with GT3 as my favourite racing game of all time, everything was done right and you could tell Turn10 actually cared about this one, but this won't ever be backwards compatible for the same reason old FIFA's, Madden's, F1 games etc won't.

It would send me over the moon to see a One-X enhanced version of this masterpiece - but I read somewhere, sorry can't find the link, that their license for FM4 cars and tracks expired a long time ago. In fact, when FH was introduced to the BC list, it was just a few months short of running out on its license.

So unless they find a way to renew licenses for the cars and tracks in FM4, I don't think it's coming to the BC roster. I'm sure T10 would love to bring it as so many fans feel its the best FM ever made, but so much red tape involved.

Has anyone seen this? Hype, to infinity, and beyond.

While I will take a wait-n-see attitude on this it is great new if it is true. One thing that I will hope is that they do a better job with the FFB update than they did with Horizon 1. I would still be playing that on the OneX if the FFB on my TX wasn't so bad. You get very weak FFB, much worse that it was on the 360 with my Fanatec wheel.

What about licenses? M3 has around 500 cars and M4 probably more. It's not possible to get licenses again. Or... ?

But some rumors are about Switch and Forza. Switch is old and slow so maybe licensing is covered together with the M4 port?

Considering that they did do a graphic update for Horizon, I don't see why they wouldn't for this, if it does indeed happen. But like I said above, I am more concerned about getting the FFB right than what it looks like.

If Forza Motorsport 4 becomes backwards compatible I will cry so many tears of joy.

So nobody cares about licenses? It's not possible to buy them I guess. Probably with different cars it could work.

Nope. The game is already delisted, so they are not going to sell it again, therefore licensing doesn't apply here. Only if they resell the game would licenses have to be renewed, from my understanding anyway. This would just be a great benefit to owners of Forza 4 and MS can add it to the "X-enhanced" list, in case gamers ask why there hasn't been an x-enhanced game in a long time.

If this turns out to be true, then everyone has to remember to move your save from the 360 to the cloud if you want your save to transfer over. I had to do this with Horizon. Other 360 BC games, I was able to copy the save over, but I guess some games you can't.

It's licensed for X360 so you can probably have it there only. You are right that selling will be even more problematic. But BC shouldn't be possible without new agreement? I don't know I don't do games but I can imagine you can't get license for X1 easily.

After reading a discussion in the Horizon 4 area it made me think of something IF this BC does come to pass. I can see that there will probably be some 1st time players to Forza 4 after the release to BC. Imagine the uproar that will take place when people are not given access to the 17 Unicorn cars that were in 4.

I agree as well and even though I play FM 7 daily I still miss FM4 and it's tracks. Please make FM4 backwards compatible.

No need to worry about that since BC for any of the 360 Forza games will never happen.
