@RK I see the latest update has rolled out. I hope this fixes the issue of crashing but if it does not what do you all intend to do next? I will see how my playing experience is tonight after this update but I'm holding my breath until we all know for sure.

Crashes whenever. I'd say 70% of the time when i open the start menu, the rest is random. Also, i noticed when i'm online in a convoy with friends, the game is much more stable. Like, maybe once a week it'll crash in a convoy, but single player i can't play. I have to wait for friends to be online to play the game.

Submitted a ticket finally, but I can't give any specifics other than it happens during events. Especially Forzathon. Words can't express how frustrating it is to wait an hour to get into an event, bust your butt completing the stages (while a large portion of the "team" watches from the trees) only to get nothing because the game crashed moments before completion. I am among the many who are playing less because of this. Actually it's much, much less because it happens right before victory in Team Adventure as well.

The latest update (Dec. 21, 2018 Xbox: 1.232.715.0) seems to have resolved the issues for me. I played for a few hours last night (as of this posting) and I didn't experience any crashes. I haven't done any extensive testing or anything like that, but it's a very welcome improvement indeed.

Here to report that this latest update has SEEMED to fix the game for me. No crashes in 2 days. I have not however gone to FI or done a forathon. I'm simply enjoying playing singleplayer in peace again.

Yup, I'm optimistic too. Played for about 45 minutes. Did the last thing for the weekly challenge, got the 200 points. Entered a FL and was alone. Did stage 1 and went to a season championship then. Doing the first race of this, I got the message that the FL event closed and received the 20 points for doing stage 1. Finished the 3 races and stopped playing then. XONE-S

Crash occurred when switching from single player to online mode in the open world. The game stutters right after finding an in-line session and randomly crashed to a grey screen with the message „Game content missing or corrupt“. Crash happens randomly and only in online mode. It can be reproduced in online mode. Happens not in every session but switching from offline to online mode causes the crash.

Issue started after the Fortune Islamd Patch. Before the patch the game ran flawlessly.

Description: Game suddenly crashes to desktop, with no error codes given. Unable to reproduce crash due to randomness. Takes approximately 30 minutes for it to happen, and does not seem to be any pattern to it. Personally, the game is unplayable due to this as I'm not keen on the idea of getting 'into' the game, for it to repeatedly crash, and then have to load it up again. I'll not be playing again for now, and in the meantime will keep an eye on this thread and patch notes.

I have to add that the PC Version was not yet updated to Version 1.232.715.0 (Dec 21) and is still dated back to Dec 13 with Version Number 1.228.387.2. Please update the PC version within the same time schedule as it is done on the Xbox One. Game is play anywhere - both versions should be the same.

The Dec. 21st update seems to have fixed the crashing problem for now, at least for me. Free roam, (on and offline), Forzathon Live events, races, menus, and Team Adventure all seem to be stable. Thanks to PG/T10 for taking care of this.

on pc it crashes every 10-20 minutes no matter what i do (even if i stay in the main menu and do nothing, after 10-20 mins it crashes).

if i disable the XBOX APP completely (by closing the explorer.exe process in windows) - it won't crash anymore, so it has to be related to that...

Crashed driving on freeway right before speedtrap. No blue screen, no error code, game just froze and closed after about 10 seconds.

I used GeForce Experience own settings and used it to launch the game, seemed to work for me

I can play for like 30 minutes... But is still crashing...

Moment inwhich the crash occured: randomly all the time (during race, after race, during free roam, even in main menu before starting the ride)

Description: I tried everything what I found as a "solution" on the internet - reddit topic and youtube = I mean the standby memory dumping, making a high priority for game process in the task manager, also setting a colligation for explorer.exe process (disabling cpu 0), also disabling the MSAA and framerate unlocking. NONE of this "solution" works.
The only one thing than actually kind of working is the TIME CHANGE in windows. Manually setting the time to 3:00 and then launching the game and playing while not connected to any live session let me play without any crashes, but the thing changes when I connect to session, then after 10mins I got crash during the online race.
So the conclusion is, when I set the time manually to 3:00 and launch the game and I'm not connected to any session (I got the "connection error while trying to connect" - don't know why) I can play solo mode without crashes, but when I force the connection to online session, instantly I got crash after 5-10mins.

One time only or multiple times: literally every 5-10min

LITTLE UPDATE.

When I switch off the internet on my notebook I can play like nothing happen for many hours, but when I plug in the internet or go wifi - forza goes into online session mode and crashes immediately starts to appear at random points and random times, every 5-20 mins.

Nevermind, crashes appears also in total offline mode, but seems like less frequent than online session...

Another update to the above with probable solution I found for myself.

I ordered trial version of xbox game pass directly on my own microsoft account to just check if it csn help, before I was playing in family share mode with probably multiple PC users... It seems like it totally solved my crashing problems as I am not sharing with anyone else on PC. Yesterday I could play whole day being online without a single crash.

These Ctd's have only started in the last 2 weeks. Rare in the beginning but happened twice in 30 minutes today. Doing different things each time, totally unrelated. Made a ticket but if it's anything like FH3 won't be fixed for months.

My God this game is one heck of a mess. Never had a game crash these many times in such a short time.

How my evening have been in Forza Horizon 4:

I come home from work, launch the game only to be greeted by a crash as soon as I reach my garage. I launch the game again now quickly hitting the escape key to get out of the garage before it crashes again. I get around ten minutes of gameplay in until I get another crash when entering the Horizon Festival garage! This time the game don't just crash, it renders Windows completely unresponsive. I coudln't even open system applications like the Task Manager even though I could see my desktop. Trying to terminate Windows sent me to an infinite shutting down loop. I dropped the game and returned later the same evening and the game gave me a good 30 minutes before it crashed again IN THE MIDDLE OF A RACE. Seriously considering refunding the game if they don't get around to fix this baloney. At least Need for Speed Payback works like a charm, so there is nothing wrong on my end.

I’ve tried reinstalling on pc many times with restarts inbetween and the size stays at 0gb

At this point I feel like I’ve been genuinely conned out of £80 and won’t buy a deluxe edition of Forza again
