New Mercedes is awesome and trial finally in suitable cars.

This is a week I feel compelled to play, as the new M5 finally gets a worthy competitor. Gonna dust off my A800 monster trucks.

The Showcase is my favorite one, Halo in Winter. A good memory of the franchise’s days past.

Still one hour or so to get the car if strictly online. Fine if FH4 is the only game you play, but I’m playing other stuff right now.

Winter is gorgeous as usual. The trial was fun, got it on the first try.

I’ve was finishing 1st and 2nd in 3 different attempts at The Trial, yet my teammates couldn’t seem to keep up and we lost every time. On the 4th, we all won by a landslide. Jeep Trailcat delivered!

Nice little wrinkle this week. Road races have flares and street races now have flags. Hmmmm

Cars I used : Bowler, Alfa TZ2, Honda S2000 CR, GMC Vandura, Mosler, Hoonigan RS200. Used a custom track for the 5 CC challenge. Enjoyed the gorgeousness of the showcase remix. Happy with the new MB.

Trial went as horrible as could get for me, not so much for others.
Did use Bowler, with some random tune (couldn’t be bothered atm, as I just got from whole day at work) and … well we won 2:1
To solo championships:
D 500 van I used my Mini Traveler with stock tires and around 200 hp … crazy lil thing, but be warned - tune 113 152 826
A 800 modern sports car I used my Jaaag  aka Eagle Speedster on stock tires - tune 173 077 797
A 800 classic race was Alfa Romeo TZ2 on vintage tires - tune 766 859 711
None of the tunes uses winter/rally tires, but they worked for me as they are.

Danger sign, speed trap were done with trusty X Agera RS and speed zone with S2 Hoonigan RS200.
Weekly Forzathon completed partially with Bowler from trial, rest done with my current fav - Ford F-150 Prerunner DD (atm wondering if I should just used this one for trial).
Custom crosscountry blueprint if anyone needs it - 141 278 192 (just drive straight trough finish line) and easiest speed zone there is - Forest Green.

The Rockstar Trophy Truck was by a distance the best Extreme Off-road A class car for Arthur’s Seat when we had a Rivals event there. No reason it wouldn’t also be good for the other two courses. I have Ang3lr1pp3r’s tune on mine. Won the trial 2-1. Team really struggled on the 2nd race but won the other two comfortably.

Had to retry Trial few times. Build Toyota Baja truck for it that is good enough to do the job, as long as I could anticipate bends though.

Saw Drivatar Ford Ranger T6 (A 795 one) flying on Arthur’s Seat. I think it was after fork (jump or tunnel). There I was pulling lead and then that thing flew past me, made perfect landing and started taking a curve in one totally in seamless manouver.

Is that common in A Class CC?

Despite that, races we lost were due we messing things up for what I saw.

Few places worth a note.

Arthur’s Seat: With my Toyota Baja tunnel was faster than jump.

Whitewaters Falls. At about 30% to the race, after jump to Quarry there’s turn to the left exiting Quarry that is easy to mess up. Checkpoint in distance in picture here.

Ambleside Rush: Trees at right in curve, at about 60% of race. Picture here.

Listening to Tokyo Rose’s Chases 2 album via Spotify while doing championships was pure bliss, a tad short album though. City of Ghosts by Crockett to the rescue.

All Stock, Unbeatable, sim-steering, manual gearing, no abs etc.

Championship: “Getting Cold Street”

  • '17 Alpine A110 was not only good enough but surprisingly fun, had at least some character being a hipster car.

The Monument Wynds being what it is, 2:29.633 was good enough for winning there at against Drivatar lineup I got.

Championship: “Tip of the Iceberg”

  • '63 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. Being saving this for rainy day but desided to take it on this champ. Even bone stock it’s really worth praise, what amazing car! Really liked route selection for this event, Holyrood Park Circuit especially is one of my favourites with Classic Racers.

Championship: “Cold Storage”

  • '83 GMC Vandura, couldn’t win the first race but it aced next two.

Yeah, there’s a lot I like in this game, but dang that looked stupid at places LOL

My favourite remix too. Have said it before but I say it again, product placement done right.

Thank you Jezza14 for that, it is quicker then Bowler.
Did play around for a bit, so if anyone wants to try it.
Here is my tune for Ford Rockstar F-150 Trophy truck - 680 389 050

Edit
One other option is also Top Gear Track-Tor A 752, loads of power, sadly lacks some more grip.
Tune if anyone wants to try it: 151 760 581

So far…

I won the trial, but it was far from my best performance. I used the Tracxas truck with the tune that Jezza suggested, nice tune but I found the trailcats were just up and walking away from me. There were two tunes uploaded, I used the second one, maybe that’s the issue. We won though…

For the Vans and Utilities I tried it with the dead stock Sandman and won easily.

For the stunts… I used the Mosler for the speed trap and the Hoonigan RS200 for the jump and speed zone. Both are X999 tuned.

So far I’m at 70% and should knock out the rest today/tomorrow.

I’ve finished the game long ago so I started a new game during quarantine, I’m already at level 21 with 1 star…

Did Street Scene run with new Mercedes-AMG E 63 S, stock/Unbeatable and did Bamburgh Circuit once with season default blueprint.

It’s very good car for beginners to have, makes milking credits on higher difficulty levels easy.

It does feel a bit heavy, though in a good way. Combined with its wheelbase it can make some nice drift stuff and at least I had very good sense where the rear was going (on hood cam), locking points of brakes, makes it fun to handle some corners in Edinburgh city Streets events.

It has a nice acceleration and with falling snow and traffic gives nice sense of speed in addition to things mentioned above. It will rule in single player Road events too, since its low PI pits upper class A Drivatars against it among lower S1.

For more experienced player, it’s another OP AWD that is good to take on Street Scene by anyone who hates Street Scene. You don’t need to mind clipping fence here or there or even hitting some traffic, Mini or SUV as you blow them who knows where with your heavy weight car. On longer race you may note some Drivatar creeping in your Minimap if you mess up really bad, but competition soon disappears as you fly through bends while figuring out your Spotify playlist, what groceries if any you need to get from the shop tomorrow and how much driving boring stuff like this will mess up your skills with RWD’s.

The AMG includes a full Brabus kit including badges. Pretty neat.

Is there a complete list of cars that has full body kits of other companies?
This is why some folks have duplicates of cars, including myself, which is something Playground should’ve factored in for garage limits. If there is a full kit, then +1.

Has there been any update on raising the garage limit since last time it was brought up?? Maybe JONK or something in the know can post an update.

in winter there are two sub-misson of ‘‘crash and splash’’ the main mission can’t process.one of them getting 3 or more stars from any speed zone with extreme offroad vehichle and other one is making 10 legendary debris with extreme offroad vehicle. I did exactly two of them but none of them seems as completed.is that a glitch or did I miss something ? other three all are completed. but this two sub mission aren’t completed.

… it is two stars or better, at least that is what my system has, and let me succeed with.

Only thing I can think of is, is what you are using in the correct class? Have to ask, as this is the easiest way it is possible to help, as if not this reason, next step will be support.

Hi all,

Cars/tunes/suggestions for this weeks seasonal (online plus one solo) and PR stunts for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, all shared by myself. ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don’t forget to leave a like.

Online:
**Trial: “Ice Gauge” | Cross Country | (A800) Extreme Offroad
**Car used: 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck (Autoshow 500,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 CC Offroad / 637 166 137

  • First up, the A.I. is much easier to beat in the trial vs just playing them in solo events (either Horizon live or solo), certainly not the ‘unbeatable’ I faced when testing/practicing -
My results for the trial were 1st/2nd (missed checkpoint)/1st on first attempt, the event overall was 2/1, A.I. had the points in the second event. Baja is fast enough to beat the A.I. in the trial (will beat unbeatable A.I. in solo too, however is more challenging), not slowed too much by destructibles, grip on the ice sections - can power through many of the bends the A.I. slows for without issue. Tune is engine swapped for 6.2L V8, with AWD.
I have another suggestion for the trial, I have not tried it in the trial as yet (considering the difficult of the trial A.I. I feel this will be competitive), although did run the tracks in solo, beat A.I. on all but Ambleside (again) - I think it possibly can win here, but may be outside my skill, there is far too many destructibles in the Ambleside track, giving the A.I. far too much of an advantage. This is made for games events, which means tuned not for top speed, but is very stable and very easy to drive - feel free to try: 2016 Toyota Landcruiser Arctic AT37 (83,000), A800 Games, 317 459 368, only mudflaps, no other visual changes.
I used the Baja for the weekly as well, doing the two star speed zone at this weeks PR speed zone, it will get two start there, I don’t think you can get three but is not needed for the weekly challenge.

**Seasonal Playground Games | Mortimer Gardens | (C600) Classic Muscle
**Car used: 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (Autoshow 45,000 Cr)
**Tune: C600 Games Snow / 108 468 240

First time I have had to try multiple times to get a team win. For this Games event I think the fact that many players come in with no grip, or no tune, means that which ever team gains the lead in the King event will win by default - due to mass quitting. As we all know, the weekly games event almost always a default win for the team that wins the first event, this week the games environment seems so difficult for players that as soon as a team has a lead in king, they quit. My tune for the event has some grip and some power, it is not the fastest, but it can corner mostly without issue, better than the no grip cars which just go broadside to you when you are chasing, making hitting them even easier. Tune is running vintage tires, Forza air on rear (lowest setting, P.I. cheat) and AWD.

Have done the one solo event, so far. Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability; Off, Gearbox: Auto.

**Championship: “Cold Storage” | Dirt Racing | (D500) Vans and Utility
**Car used: 1983 GMC Vandura G-1500 (Autoshow 25,000 Cr)
**Tune: D500 Dirt CC AWD / 102 928 420

Would like to know how the system determines what the A.I. will use, for me this event was only the GMC, although this has never happened before in any other Vans and Utility race. My GMC is very stable, can take most corners in this championship at fairly high (for D class) speeds, very easy to handle on the dirt sections. AWD, Forza rear air (set low, P.I. cheat), rally/snow tires, rally suspension.

PR Stunts:
-Carden Creag Speed Zone, 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800 - ‘S900 Rally Trial’ (680 307 281) - not going to lie, took me quite a few attempts to succeed at this stunt, got a PB in the end,
-Copse Speed Trap, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544),
-Rannoch Shelf Vista Danger Sign, 2019 Rimac Concept Two - ‘PR Stunt Rally’ (120 633 544).

Cheers

You’re absolutely correct. Even more so than last week, grip is a must to have any hope of being valuable to your team. But many early adopters grabbed either a stock car or tuned for power anyway and were so thoroughly destroyed by opponents in more suitable tunes that they shed any illusion of being able to compete and quit. Or their teammates get tired of trying to take up the slack and quit.

Hello,

Cars/tunes/suggestions for this weeks seasonal and PR stunts for those that find such useful. All tunes are my own, all shared by myself. ~ tune name / share code. If you use anything offered here, and you like it/it was useful to you, please don’t forget to leave a like.

Solo championships - Raced against Expert, Steering: Simulation, ABS: on, Traction/Stability; Off, Gearbox: Auto.

**Championship: “Getting Cold Street” | Street Scene | (A800) Modern Sports Cars
**Car used: 2013 Subaru BRZ (Autoshow 32,000 Cr)
**Tune: A800 Dirt / 161 754 118

Luck, you will need it if the event plays out (and keeps playing out) like mine, traffic cars always right where I need to be, always on the line I am using. This tune is running snow/rally tires which did help me a lot due to the number of times I had no choice but to drive on the shoulder to pass traffic and A.I. Easy enough while challenging win but for Monument Wynds where yet again the A.I. run the course as if they don’t suffer any grip issues - towards the end there is a long sweeping bend to the left, the A.I. here were not only not slowing for the bend, they were accelerating into it (liberal use of rewind and crashing showed me they were accelerating), I don’t feel there is a single car in the game with the grip to take this bend (in winter) at speed while accelerating into it. Tune runs snow/rally tires, is RWD, with Rocket Bunny wide-body kit.
I do have a race tires tune for the BRZ, still RWD, it is slower, (race will be somewhat harder I imagine) due to the extra 13! points of P.I. on the tires: A800 Road / 146 727 678 - I did not try the event with this tune, tune here for those that may want such.

**Championship: “Tip of the Iceberg” | Road Racing | (A800) Classic Racers
**Car used: 1951 Porsche #46 356 SL Gmund Coupe
**Tune: A800 Rally Road / 180 857 108

Car is excursive, maybe auction house if you want one and don’t have it. Easy easy win, especially at Holywood Circuit. Not much to say - fun to drive, easy to handle, great grip, predictable behavior. Snow tires plus AWD mean hitting the shoulder isn’t game over. Tune is AWD, supercharged, Forza air, with snow/rally tires.

Enjoy.

I just can’t do the Speedzone…
I tried every car mentioned here, even a Lambo Centenario, fully tuned with winter tires.
I don’t like winter…
