Why the Uneven Series Points?

1st Race: 100 Points.
2nd: 200.
3rd: 300.
4th: 400.

If I won 3 Races and got 3rd on the Last One…I’d finish 2nd overall…

…why not 250 per Race?

Does it change further into the game?
