So, who's using cockpit view?

Definitely cockpit view for all track types except cross-country… there i use chase cam due to better overall outlook on the checkpoints and the tracks. It helps pinpoint those trees i’m trying so hard to avoid and get the best line (without turning on the assist)/

I use cockpit view as often as possible, I mainly use the older euro ford cars as I Used to own most of them, especially the Capri and mk2 escort, the detail inside takes me back to my yoof lol, I do switch to chase cam on cross country races though, only assists I have on are ABS and braking line,

Cockpit for racing/cruising, high chase cam for exploring and finding boards/barns. All assists off except ABS. Full damage on which is why i take so many trips to the hub. Grrrrrr.

I use cockpit view too but not for cross country events. As for the assists, ABS off, TC on for hypercars, SC off, breaking line on, damage full.

I use cockpit view for all track types except cross-country…

I only ever use cockpit view in any of my racing games except if I have smashed the screen, then I go to any forward view that is best for the race/drive until I get to a Hub/Festival to repair the screen. I get travel sick if I watch the car from behind!

Cockpit view ofcourse, everything off/simulation except braking line and rewind [Mod edit - WSD - Profanity]

I use cockpit cam and turn off all assist but drive line…

Only cockpit view with ABS/TCS/SCS/Rewind/Racing line off, map off when play event, just because it is the only way makes me feel like natural. I’m a stupid controller driver.

I go between all of the modes depending how I feel at the moment.

Cockpit, kinda feels like the hitbox is off compared to other Forza games, as I’ve bumped my back end into more unseen objects than ever before. It is also hard to judge the “just missed” proximity.

But in these games, I want to enjoy the whole world, and focus less on the ‘track’ such as in Forza, so I enjoy the 3rd person view, but at night in the rain I also enjoy the cockpit immersion of driving speed limit and just looking for cool stuff in the world.

There seems to be no reason to stick to one mode at all times imo.

For some strange reason i like to look at the back of my car while racing thats why I’m always in outside view

@gemma, i’ll do that if i have a new paint i like, I mean why put on a nice paint that only you can’t see! lol
But once i’ve seen it, i’ll go back into cockpit view.

I use the chase cam in this game as it gives a vetter view in online and offroad, normally in FM5, I use in car.

I have all assist off apart from braking line and I have cosmetic damage only also rewind for single player.

I use cockpit (although, I’ll switch to chase sometimes during freeroam, just to look at the car and whatnot.)

These are my assists:

Brakes: ABS off

Steering: Simulation

Traction control: Off

Stability control: Off

Driving line: Off

Transmission: Usually manual with clutch, but I change this depending on the car’s transmission. I use manual with clutch for standard and sequential, manual for paddle shifters, and, of course, automatic for a car with an automatic transmission.

Damage: Usually none, but I’ll change it to simulation for bucket list challenges and whatnot.
Rewind: On (because Drivatars can’t drive, and I’m too lazy to restart the race when they ram me.)

Rewind: On, but again, I’ll turn it off for some bucket list challenges.

I also turn most of the HUD off, besides the map and lap time position, and names over cars. Sometimes I’ll turn on the tac, if I’m listening to music while driving a car that doesn’t have one, since Playground thought it’d be a good idea to remove all of the controller feedback.

I do feel with cockpit view the general online and off for the matter would improve if the devs incorporated a marker system something like that found in GT6 or Codemasters game’s.

Cockpit view when I’m driving around, but if I’m racing I tend to prefer bonnet cam as in some cars the seating position isn’t right to give me the visibility I want.

Cockpit view for everything because of the rear view mirror. I use 3rd person when looking for barn finds.

I use the cockpit view exclusively, with all assists turned off. This gets a little dicey when speeding through cornfields as it can be almost impossible to see the next checkpoint, but that’s just part of the thrill and enjoyment I get.

Looking for more people to race with and have quality driveatars, so hit me up if you’d like to get together.

I drive all the time in “cockpit view”

I’d like to thank everyone for posting so far.

Has anyone tried to turn off the map completely (map + Anna etc) and continued their career/story? I wonder if it’s possible to play the game without the mini map in the bottom left corner. I know there’s the GPS voice but would that be enough? Thinking about barn finds, specific races/challenges where it’s hard to know where you’re going etc. I still haven’t bought the full version yet so i hope somebody can shed some light on this.
